I can’t sign up for the Open series. The announcement story says that it begins on August 8, but the ESL site shows that the first tournament begins at August 27. There’s no way to sign up to an earlier tournament at the moment, only for the Elite series.
Bonus participation cars will be sent to everyone who takes part in the Elite Series Rivals Qualifier and/or the Open Series League on a weekly basis. No registration required.
Registration is for Open Series DLC prizes and for Elite Series prizing.
Is that which I bolded a new in-game Rivals event? And just once, or do I need to set a new Rivals time every week in order to get the car(s)?
@FerrariFan2414: I’m driving one right now, and you DO want one so bad. I tested the M2 last week, and I think the Focus is actually impressing me more.
Just a tip o’ the hat to the Forza/Turn10 folks for making this a very INCLUSIVE event.
It’ll be great to see ALL skill levels out on the track having an enjoyably competitive time together!
Best of luck and clean racing wishes to everyone participating!

Good to see I don’t need to register to get the Escort and Falcon, considering I’m slower than an Isetta. That said, I might sign up for the Open Series, if for no other reason the chance at a free Nascar Expansion Pack.
With all this Ford though, you might want to call it the Fordza Racing Championship! I’ll be here all week folks! Try the veal!
Glad to see more information come out about this, was not expecting to see anything until gamescom.
I have a few questions though, pardon my ignorance on these as I haven’t played the game in a while:
Have there been any improvements made to the Spectate feature, so that more information is displayed on-screen when watching a race?
Are the recent inclusion of tyre barriers the only change made as regards people abusing track limits in a race?
Have there been any tools or features added to help make the lobbies cleaner should a griefer start causing trouble for other racers?
Have there been any changes made to the ghosting system in order to prevent large pile-ups from occurring? (“Faster ghosting”, “ghosting lapped traffic” etc.)
How long is the average race (in minutes) going to be in the Leagues tied to this series?
What are the car damage settings in each League Division?
Will League races have rolling or standing starts?
Have there been any improvements made to the in-game voice chat feature, so that more people can hear each other?
Have there been any changes made to how the Leaderboard point scores for Leagues are calculated?
I’m still confused about the dates listed. According to the ESL site the Open Series begins on August 28. But according to Turn 10 it ends on August 28, not begins. If we sign up for this series and still take part in the Leagues before the date, are we still eligible to win? Why is the ESL site so confusing?
