How to Register, Sign Up, Check In, and participate in ForzaRC events

Who is eligible and what do I need to do to claim prizes?

  • Xbox Live Gold is required.
  • Open Series players must be age 14+ and residents of an Xbox One market country (Europe, Asia, North America, South America, South Africa)
  • Elite Series players must be age 16+ and residents of eligible countries (see Rules: most of Europe, China, Canada, U.S.)
  • Players can participate in both the Open Series and Elite Series events.

See the Events List thread in this forum for an overview of the ForzaRC schedule and prizes.

Competing for Elite Series prizes involves multiple steps listed below: ESL account registration/log in > tournament Sign Up > Rivals Qualification > tournament Check In > tournament Play, and Entering Results.

An ESL account and Sign Up is required to claim DLC prizes in the Open Series and to race in Elite Series tournaments and claim Elite Series prizes.
An ESL account is not required to participate in the weekly Elite Series Rivals and Open Series Leagues and to just receive the exclusive bonus award cars for these events.

Start with this link on the ESL page.

REGISTER A FREE ESL ACCOUNT
If you already have an ESL account, Log In instead of registering, but make sure your profile has your birthdate and country.

  • Go to the main Forza Racing Championship page at ESL Gaming and click Register. You will need to enter an email address (this is where earned DLC prize codes will be sent) and a nickname.
  • Once you have created your account you will also need to Edit your profile and add your birthdate and country for eligibility.
SIGN UP FOR ELITE CUP WEEK #1 (AND #2 AND #3)
  • If you’re on your profile page, click the “Choose your Game” tab and “Forza” from the list to go to the ForzaRC main page, and then click the Cup #1 link.
  • Sign Up is open until the Friday night before the weekend tournaments. So for Cup #1, the deadline is Friday August 12th in order to compete on Saturday August 13th and Sunday August 14th. The sign up deadline for Cup #2 (Aug. 20 & 21) is August 19th, etc. You can compete in each weekly cup unless you reach the top 4 in any week, so sign up for Cup #2 and Cup #3 to give yourself a better chance at prizes.
  • On the right side of the page, “Sign up” will be locked until you click the “To Do: Gamer ID” and enter your XBL gamertag. Then click the Sign Up button:

SIGN UP FOR THE SEASON 1 OPEN
The deadline to sign up for the Open Series is August 28th and only needs to be done once (despite three weekly League periods). Note that prizes change weekly for these Leagues, so you may want to start racing on August 8th even if you put off signing up for DLC prize eligibility until the end of the month deadline.

  • Click the link for the Open.
  • On the right side of the page, “Sign up” will be locked until you click the “To Do: Gamer ID” and enter your XBL gamertag. Then click the Sign Up button.
PARTICIPATE IN THE WEEKLY ELITE SERIES RIVALS EVENT (AUGUST 8-11)
  • Navigate to the Rivals menu in the game and Community Monthly and select the ForzaRC S1W1 Elite Qualifying event.
  • Any complete lap - clean or dirty ( /!\ symbol ranked lower on the leaderboard) - will earn you the unicorn car with that week’s livery. You can earn three unicorns (W1 livery, W2 livery, W3 livery) from Season 1 Rivals.
  • Advancement to the Saturday tournament requires that you rank in the top 128 of the week’s Rivals global leaderboard. Using any assists you prefer, you can improve your leaderboard position at any time from August 8 to August 11. If you qualify, make sure you Check In (below) on Saturday in order to compete. If you don’t qualify in week 1 you can try again in week 2 and week 3.
RACE IN THE WEEKLY OPEN SERIES LEAGUE (AUGUST 8 to 14)
  • Navigate to the Leagues menu in the game and enter the ForzaRC S1W1 Open Series league during one of the three daily windows
  • League leaderboards rank players by points totaled from all played sessions during the week, so the players who spend more time racing during the week will likely have a higher leaderboard position at the end of the week.
  • If you are in the top 50% of your Division’s [Edit: registered players]then you will earn the DLC prize of that week, sent to the email address in your ESL account profile. You can win each of the three weekly League DLC prizes. If you do not end up in the top 50% you will still earn that week’s unicorn car with the livery just for participating.
Check In for Elite Cup tournaments
  • You must have Signed In by the Friday deadline and qualified from the Rivals event in order to Check in on Saturday August 13 for that day’s elimination tournament. Check In is open at 2pm Eastern time.
  • Go to the Cup #1 page and click Check In to make sure you are seeded for Saturday’s bracket before play begins.

RACE IN THE SATURDAY ELITE SERIES ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT

  • After you have signed in and been seeded you will need to find your first competitor in the Bracket tab and set up the 1v1 race using the settings in the Rules tab.
  • Races are 5 laps on a circuit. See the Rules tab for information about No Show, Forfeit, and Protests.
  • Racers must also Enter Result from their races at the ESL site.
  • If you win your races and are ranked in the top 16 then you will be eligible to race in the 12-player Sunday Showdown with a chance to earn prizes from the top 4 positions in the Showdown race. If you are eliminated then you receive no prizes that week but can try again the next week (Sign Up for Cup #2, Qualify, Check In, etc)
    TRY AGAIN NEXT WEEK
  • If you miss participating or earning a prize in one week you can still try again the next week. Viewers of the Gran Finals race on September 4 will have a chance to earn DLC as well.
  • See the Rules tab for each Cup to see the prize list, and see the Events List thread in this forum for an overview of the schedule and prizes.

Great post

I just have one question. Is there a place I can see when the events will be streamed on twich ?

See the Events List thread for scheduling updates. ESL’s rules mention something about casting, and they may or may not stream the elimination tournaments on Saturdays. Sunday’s Showdown race may be streamed in the afternoon some time.

Watch the live FM6 channels list for racers streaming their events:

I’m confused

I’ve signed up to the Open Series, does this mean I don’t get a unicorn?

Also, do you have to complete all 3 rivals events (Fiesta Test, Dry Lake Raptor, and Focused and Ready?.

I hope I didn’t miscommunicate somewhere, but Signing In and unicorns are not connected. Set a lap in the weekly Qualifier Rivals: receive a unicorn automatically. Complete a race in the weekly Open Series League: receive a unicorn automatically. Registration and Signing In to the Open at ESL is only required if you’re expecting to earn a DLC prize from that week’s league.

The 3 rivals events open now specifically state that they are not qualifying events. Setting a lap in those does not earn a unicorn or qualify you for the Elite Series. That’s also mentioned in the Week in Review and the Events thread I posted. Qualifying Rivals opens on August 8, and is only related to the Elite Series.

Yep, that’s my error - somehow I’ve messed up twice lol

Just to clarify then, I just need to race in the league online hopper thing, but not the rivals challenges? Or is it I can compete in both to receive the prize?

Sorry, I’m being massively thick - today’s been ‘one of those’ lol

Which prize do you want?

Ford Falcon unicorn only:
Enter the Photo/Livery contest; OR set any lap in the ForzaRC S1W1 Open Series League; OR set any lap in the ForzaRC S1W2 Open League; OR set any lap in the ForzRC S1W3 Open League. You cannot get this unicorn from the Rivals events.

Ford Escort unicorn only:
Set any lap in the ForzaRC S1W1 Elite Qualifying Rivals event; OR set any lap in the ForzaRC S1W2 Elite Qualifying Rivals event; OR set any lap in the ForzaRC S1W3 Elite Qualifying Rivals event. Registration/sign in at ESL is not required if you just want this unicorn. You cannot get this unicorn from the League events.

tl:dr - Unicorns don’t require registration. All other prizes require Sign In. Open Series (Leagues) only offers DLC prizes. Elite Series (Rivals/tournaments) will only award the major prizes to 12 people out of all players in the entire Season. Only one person will win the car.

Read the Events thread for the schedule.

It was the unicorns I was after - thank you for clearing that up!

As I said, I’ve had one of those days where I want to just go to bed and start again lol.

How do I sign out from ESL? Thought it was needed to get the unicorns but it seems it’s not. So not interested to race anymore.

On the ESL website it says:
“The top 50% of registered ESL Open Series players in each League will be awarded the weekly prize via the email address associated with their esl account.”

I am confused about the group of players, of which i have to be in the top half now.

It will depend on the league division you’re in.

If you’ve never played leagues before in forza it will likely be the Grassroots divison for you. For me, it’ll be the Pinnacle divison as an example. If this is so, you and I will never be competing against each other and you will have a better shot at placing top 50% in that particular division as result.

The divisions are based on trueskill factor. It’s possible if you do well that you will be promoted to a higher division next week.

There will be a lot of winners since there’s like 4 or 5 different divisions.

I am racing the qualifier on Monza, but my my best time doesnt show up in the leaderboards. I race with no assists, no lines and restarted the race after 1 lap. Whats the reason when I beat my “rival” with a clean lap time my rank doesnt get higher?

Thanks in advance!

I am having the same issue, I have beat my next rival’s ghost on my open-lap by a decent margin and it will not override my first entry. Is there a way to get this problem resolved?

Elite series top 128 players should watch their emails for an invite to tomorrow’s cup race. Remember to click Check In tomorrow morning and look at the bracket to find your opponent.

Any idea on how long it will take for the prizes/rewards to come through? I set a lap in the Monza qualifying, so should get the unicorn car for that, and competed in the Open League, finishing in the top 15%, so should get the unicorn car and also the car pass prize code emailed to me? I’m registered on ESL

Week in Review published Friday August 12th:

The schedule will no doubt be the same for Weeks 2 and 3: Rivals closes late Thursday, League closes Sunday, then prize cars get sent starting the Monday after they closed. Since the Open Series sign in deadline is near the end of Week 3, I expect that DLC prizes will not be sent until then, but I don’t know that for sure.

OK, thanks Max, I’ll eagerly be checking my dashboard over the next few days. Really hope I did do enough to get the car pass, nice to actually have a chance of winning “real” stuff not just XP and game credits

Hi,
Sorry for being an idiot. This come up in leagues so I did a lap of monza. To get the unicorn car do I have to have Xbox live and race others? Being an Aussie and a Ford man when I saw the Phase III as the car I had to have it.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Do I still need to have an xbox live gold account after the championship to recieve the DLC prizes?
