Forza Race Regulations | Public Beta Feedback Thread - July 2019

Can we get new achievements for the new features added. Many people will comeback to play Forza 7 for those achievements and maybe discover or experience what is to come on future Forza games. Adding new achievements will get people excited again.

This was from this morning, as you can see this is simply side by side contact,. I actually lost track position and copped a 5 sec penalty. I feel confident that T10 will get collisions penalties right as they have with the track limits penalties, which I think they have now nailed it. https://twitter.com/lsem_oz/status/1150937773622173696?s=21

I would like to see “Simulation damage” and a mandatory “pit stop”. That will keep down the random “oops my bad buddy”

If someone rams you from the back, no matter the angle, it should not count against you.

Passed someone on the exit of turn 14 Suzuka. No prior incidents. Gave him plenty of room but he was obviously upset about getting passed. Rams me from the side into the left tyre wall, sending me rolling. I lose 16 seconds & many places, he carries on without losing any time & only gets a 4 second penalty.

Variations of this have happened several times. Yes, the system is better then nothing but it’s like people know they will get away with only a minor penalty & that the people they hit will lose far more time then they will, so they have no problem ramming people off when they can. i.e when the cars are more spread out & they know they won’t be passed from anyone behind even with a penalty.

Also had a number of occasions where someone has out-braked themselves & hit me from behind, yet I’m the one that’s been given 2-5sec penalties for ‘avoidable collision’.

As i said, it’s better then nothing but it definitely needs work. Until it punishes deliberate rammers more severely & doesn’t punish you for peoples deliberate/mistaken out-braking moves, it won’t be good enough.

Edit - I forgot to suggest a possible solution. For ramming, the penalty decision could be delayed for half a lap or even a lap until it determines just how much the driver that was hit, got slowed down by. I know that’s not a simple implementation but if the system had a surefire way of distinguishing when someone is force-ably rammed off track then it could work.

The ‘avoidable collision’ would be more difficult. It’s not just occurring in braking zones, it also occurs when people side swipe on straights. For the braking zone, maybe there’s a way in which the system can determine how fast someone is travelling into the braking zone, the line they’re taking & how late they are braking. From then on it’d be easier to detect the car causing the collision was the one braking much too late, on the wrong line & travelling at a much higher speed. Although it happens at slower speed also.

Lastly, a feature i’d like to see would be a little notification when it determines a penalty, on if the other car has been given a penalty & how much time penalty they’ve been given. I know the bottom left driver hud displays peoples penalty times, but it’d be useful to see specifics as in many cases (starts of the race etc) it’s chaos & the driver list on the hud jumps all over the place with positions changing constantly. It’d be nice to know clearly who hit you & the penalty they receive.

A waste of time in my opinion. The system will never be able to determine “intent”, which will always cause arbitrary penalties. No thanks.

Five minutes ago I decided to give another chance to the penalty system:
almost 24 players on Sebring full, #25 BMW motorsport 3.0 CSL, I’m in the middle of the pack. At the second corner there’s a massive crash, I get pushed all over the place and I get a +5.250 penalty.

Quit the lobby. I’m done.

As for me this FRR is awesome as an idea. Just tried a few days ago. But just as described DaveBForza, sometimes penalty is inadequate to the lost time after incident. It would be great, it this lost time will be also counted in one or another way.

Also liked that if you made a cut, but do not force to continue an attack (lazy and accurate return to track), penalty almost always was cleared.

  1. Penalties for accidents do not work, absurd penalties are also given to those who suffer accidents, or penalties if you touch them while zero in the event of an accident, too random does not reflect the reality of things

  2. The penalties for cutting the track must be improved and inserted where effectively cutting you drive, if I go out wide I lose time I can’t even take a penalty

Here’s a perfect example of point 1

This clip is from today. I received a 6.25 second penalty coming in contact with a car in front that came in contact with the wall and veered out of control into my car. XboxClips.com -
