Oh now that is awesome! I like the way the program is going.
To me it seems there will be a need for more marshals to get adequate coverage but so far so good! I know yall won’t have much of an issue finding volunteers in the future.
I didn’t realise you was going that far, I expected a kick to be the end of it. Documenting all incidents and gathering evidence is great news and a good deterrent. This needs to be advertised to all players and you never know it might stop an incident from occurring at all. Bit like the bright yellow speed cameras we have over here in the UK.
Just to give you all some insight, we have to physically see something absolutely obvious to take action in the lobby. If it’s someone spinning you out once or something similar, that’s probably not an incident that we can do anything about. It’s the ones that don’t stop for corners and aim at people, the people who wait a lap down, those kinds of things we can remove immediately.
I’ve had some times where people will say, “He dove at me through a corner!” and I stay back the next race to check out what happened. Generally, it’s just blind driving.
From what I’ve seen so far, lobbies have been cleaner since this program started. It’s good to see :).
As with the addition of tire walls to prevent some track cutting, Lobby Marshals is a reasonable emergency sticking-plaster to apply to a year-old title that’s no longer being actively developed and I’m glad it’s happening, but it’s a bit disappointing that it took an ESL event to convince T10 to do something their customers have been begging for since launch, and I really hope T10 are looking at better solutions for future titles.
File under: Way too little, way too late, but still just about better than nothing.
Acknowledging that there is a problem in the hoppers is the first step to a brighter future for forza. Shame it’s taken so long but never the less it’s here. Our job now is to make sure it’s as successful as possible by reporting as much obviously bad behaviour as we can. Me and zed have been doing this for ages now so no change there.
My fear is that this is not successful and its not rolled out to the next addition of motorsport. I really hope we get to see this within the game on any future releases. I agree with pps killer about a warning to all players who join a public that they may get kicked or worse banned. I’d like to see the marshalls have access to a “back end” of the game where they can see reports being made from users in real time and replays of the game all in 1 place. All it takes is an extra option when viewing a player in a lobby “report & send replay” buttons. My last idea would be to have more Marshalls and an appropriate application/recomendation system. I belive turn 10 and the players should decide together who the marshalls are by users voting on the application of the marshall. This should be a recommendation and there should be no room for people to vote not to recomend someone, you do this by not voting
There needs to be a splash screen notice posted when entering Multi Player to notify users there may be bans for bad behavior and also offer a link to the TOU.
I’m sure many people believe that the lobbys are an online free for all with no repercussions for acting like an idiot. You can read the “I was banned for no reason” threads scattered throughout the forums. Yes, it will be a pain for us that adhere to the TOU but if it means we’d have to deal with less idiots then I am all for it.
The championship league prizes will be rewarded to a bunch of people. It’s doesn’t matter if you’re clean, dirty, fast, or slow. All you have to do is play a lot.
Top 50% is easy without corner cutting. Keep your nose clean and you’ll stack points pretty quickly.
In the Elite division, I’ve seen a lot of people that are plowing their way through the grid, pit other people, and even punt other’s into the wall. It seems like 7-8 people doing it the ForzaRC league each race with more willing to cut corners. So far, many people have a “win at all costs” attitude to try to get a car pass.
I’ve already posted in the marshal thread and I’ve yet to seen anyone with the Turn 10 logo next to their gamertag. I’ve seen one person driving that is ghosted the entire time that wasn’t racing. I’ll send a few replays over once I review them.
Stupid me. The marshals are likely only in pinnacle based on who I know are marshals so far. They literally cannot help you.
Wow so I guess that means the lower divisions are no holds bar racing.
Suggestion for improvement T10: add marshals who are in the lower tier leagues. Not sure how they would find trustworthy people but I’d help out temporarily if needed. I believe my secondary account is in Elite.
But now the ForzaRC has started. And I like to call out TX3 Laige, BAM b0x and Raceboy77…
Why, why, why are those guys marshalls… ATM those are 3 marshalls in the top 5 for the qualify event for the forzaRC Elite cup.
And how do they manage to get in the top 5? That’s right, cutting the track. Aren’t those new marshalls the guys that will be needing to set a good example?
Forza clean means that at certain points of a track you can go full 4 wheels of the track and it still would be valid. Yes I know forza isn’t a proper sim racer. But how hard is it to just get your track limits on point?
Sorry, isn’t this time trial on Forza, or did I miss something? Whatever is allowed in the game is fair. That corner has been marked as a problem since the release of the game, and even after updating a larger problem on the track, that one still exists - nearly a YEAR after it was identified. It’s clearly not an issue to the developer, so we’ll play the game by the rules that govern each event. As far as ESL, I’m sure that cut is off limits, but as far as T10 is concerned, it’s perfectly legal.
You’re all acting like the guys up top wouldn’t be there if they weren’t cutting… If you think Laige or b0x shouldn’t be at the top of a board, you’re clearly VERY new to Forza.
TL;DR: If you don’t like getting beat, cut the corner. If you don’t like cutting corners… Get used to getting beat.
