Forza Motorsport On Ryzen 5 5600g

I recently got Forza Motorsport for my PC, but I’m encountering significant lag that makes the game unplayable. Before buying it, I did some research and found videos of people playing the game smoothly even with integrated graphics on an R5 5600G processor (similar to mine). Here are the links to the videos I saw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4qn_E22zD0 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4qn_E22zD0.

I’m wondering if I might be doing something wrong with the settings. While high-quality graphics aren’t a priority for me, I’d simply like the game to be playable. It’s worth noting that other games like Forza Horizon 5, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and F1 24 run smoothly on the same PC. EdIt:I tested msfs 24 on the same pc and works without lag on low settings and i am unable to change settings in forza motorsport due to the lag

Hi let me see if I can help.

If I understand you correctly - you are attempting to play on an integrated GPU…
When you say lag do you mean the game is ‘choppy’ with a very low framerate?
Or is the framerate okay - but there is enormous input lag?

I would personally be surprised to find this game working well on an integrated GPU (or at all tbh)…Certainly I would start by disabling almost every visual bell / whistle and working your way up from there.

Very low framerate it is so low that I can’t even use the settings menu

Hello,
if Flight Sim and F1 24 are running, Motorsport should also be running.
Set the preset to “Low”. And FSR quality. Give it a try and then give feedback.
I need to read up on 5600G and what it can and can’t do. I’ll get back to you then.

I have found a video where you can see the settings for a 5600G in Motorsport.

Resolution: 1280x720
Preset: Low
FSR: Performance
Try this. And here is the video.

thank you I will try that

thanks

thank you

I am unable to try this as it is so laggy that i cant even access the settings menu is there a way to change the settings without luanching the game

Yes: Typically most games store a .cfg or similar text file of the in game settings in your documents or %appdata% folder. (Right click, edit with notepad)

Follow the instructions here to find the file: Forza Motorsport - PCGamingWiki PCGW - bugs, fixes, crashes, mods, guides and improvements for every PC game

You can try editing and saving the text file - it’s fairly obvious typically (e.g. swap words medium for low, 0’s for 1’s to disable etc…

A good place to start would be - set your resolution, 50% resolution scale, enable FSR and disable everything else - all of these should be rather obvious within the text file - e.g. somethingorotherresolution: 1280 x 720
somethingtodowithscale: 50%
etc…
