I have a similar system (4090, 32gb ddr5). I am using a 13700k opposed to his 7800x but that’s still a great processor too. The FPS performance looks terrible and that is when he had DLSS set to Performance. I hope he just has something wrong with his system because 39fps is terrible. for that type of rig.
If anyone has played a fairly new build on PC, can you confirm any of this?
Was this your experience? I will be running 1440 ultrawide myself too so your FPS seems more in line with what I was expecting. Do you think this person just had an issue with their pc? Thank you for answering!
Yes i just tried it out like 15 minutes ago in a free race since i cant play online because then the game crashes on the splash screen. Offline i can get in to free race. And he didnt have a problem with his PC he just simply didnt wait to finish the shaders optimization in the beginning.
Oh nice. That would explain the stutters. I didn’t even stop to think about Shaders compiling. Can you try that same race that he initially was in with the rain at night and see what FPS you get and report back when you get time? I’d say that’s when his system was the most taxed.
I was reviewing the game on RTX 2080, 16 GB RAM, Core i5-9400. During races I had stable 60 fps in 1080p on high/ultra settings with ray tracing on, even in rain with 20 cars on the screen.
No reason, if i dont need it i usually dont use it but in this case i would use DLAA most likely instead of DLSS cause i have a lot of headroom anyways.
What’s your take on how this compares to FM7? Do graphics look and feel better in person? Driving enjoyable? I’m excited now that I’ve seen your results.
I tried it in SDR (i was lazy to turn on HDR in windows) one thing i can tell you is that for whatever reason the colors looked a bit washed out. Other than that it looks good in my opinion. Feels next gen. Driving wise, the cars have distinguishable weight to them and handling, so that feels good to me as well. But keep that in mind i was only playing for like an hour and only jerking around in free race since i cant play the builders cup yet.
I think the washed out colors will probably be a real thing depending on the race/time of day, etc. Lot of people have complained about how muted colors “can” look compared to GT7. I feel GT7 is very saturated unnaturally at times and FM might be washed out too much at times. I’m assuming this is an artistic design decision though and also due to actual realistic lighting. If someone is used to seeing saturated, super bright colors on a game like GT7 with no major lighting variation, then go to FM, things may appear washed out. That’s my opinion of course.
Possible, the next thing would be to check if its the same with HDR or something is just not working properly in SDR. Later on i might try but right now I’m just too lazy to be bothered with it and also working in the meanwhile.
I can confirm, PC is a broken mess. Running a Ryzen 7 3700X, 3070 ti with 64Gb Ram, on a 1440p LG monitor and I can’t even manage a stable 60 FPS…this is sad. Back to Horizon I guess.
its clear that this game was tested for complete PC optimization in mind. Why else would they only let Xbox copies be reviewed. Need day now patch and some gfx drivers that are game ready.
