I got it to work after updating to the latest Nvidia drivers. The App did show the option greyed out after the app self updated, but that wasn’t the driver updating. Once I installed the newest driver, I was able to turn it on and set overrides.
Latest driver + uninstall and reinstall the nvidia app.
Did both of those. Just still unsupported.
Look for "DLSS Override - Model Presets. "
If you’ve updated to Game Ready Driver 572.16 you should see a drop down once you are in Forza’s Nvidia settings.
Turn10 won’t really respond to this thread because it isn’t a voting topic, so here’s one feature that we can vote for to improve the graphics. Self Shadowing on cars in all scenarios
This would require a pretty extensive engine modification (which means that it wont ever happen…). Self-shadowing currently only works as long as there’s only one light source (the sun). Having multiple light sources is a no go (performance wise) unless they implement RT shadows (but given their lackluster RTAO, RTGI & RT reflections implementations there’s no hope & it will trash perfomance even more…)
Yeah, I didn’t realize it would tank performance so much; it just looks so ugly without self-shadowing; hence why you don’t see tons of races near streetlamps in fh5. However, the car’s main shadow responds to multiple light sources, so it’s not like they would have to build that code “from the ground up” to implement it. Plus there are other less noticeable tweaks that could be made to make up for the performance dip.
Indeed. But Turn10’s ForzaTech engine branch has been far behind PG’s branch for years now (since FH3). All major updates have been outsourced to other companies or brought form tech developed by PG for FH years ago.
Why does it look so much better on a series S than a PC? What are the specs of this “Gaming PC”? How is that possible? It did look like what you showed for a split second as I was leaving the event after the race over.
laptop 7945HX, RTX4070, 2k resolution.
Something is very wrong in that case. What you have should look many times superior.
Similar blots are found on several other tracks, as far as I know, this problem is not only on my PC
No it looks exactly the same on all platforms and will never be fixed according to what Turn10 said several months ago.(I literally quoted & linked their statement earlier in this thread) The vast majority of the replay cameras are improperly placed/with the wrong focal length resulting in those LOD issues with Trees, textures & shadows.
It’s doesn’t look that way you guys show in gameplay. I care less about a replay.
You absolutely nailed it as all of your feedback is exactly what I think!
This would have to be one of the most disappointing Motorsport Games I have played and I am Forza OG player which was awesome.
I really think they Turn 10 and Microsoft need to move on, wait a few years and try again, this schitt is not salvageable!!!
I mean take a look at this horrible orange peel on the paint , reflection and interior textures of the CT5 Blackwing. YIKES!
At least now the game is being advertised as it looks.
If anyone is wondering why the paint shader looks so wrong in this game, it’s because it’s downgraded too. On the left is what we have, and right is what Forza has for their pretty screenshots and early trailers. We really need a better looking paint shader, it’s literally right there in the code.
I don’t doubt it. The graphics fixes have been nonexistent since the January update. Hopefully it happens.
I think the pandemic sealed this games fate. Corners were cut. This is apparent in several areas.
