As in the title, do we have evidence that these promises were fulfilled visibly in the game?
“…including highly detailed vegetation and overgrowth," apparently. Just been reading from pre-release info from Turn 10 and seeing what was actually promised.
Legitimately, upload your pictures showing these details.
I’m confused when I read about,
“improvements to how [cars] look by using a spectrophotometer, which captures multiple data points of light behavior on a surface. With this new sourcing technique, our paint models have a more realistic light response across colors, metal flake and gloss levels”,
I feel confused as to why the release version seems to be missing these things, as if they gave us a 0.7 build and lost the gold copy?
@JetPartySalad@T10ManteoMax can you ask the team to finally make a statement like, “this is what we were going to release, this is why it was downgraded from the gameplay we showed and what we said”? The dissonance has just been killing fans for months. We were expecting the game to look like this, and sound the best it ever has, but it’s still so buggy and feels unfinished?
There is a huge lack of communication from the developers about what happened to this game from how good it looked before, however it is very obvious that the game was downgraded on purpose to meet its time goals and avoid other serious problems and optimization on pc.
Fun fact: digital foundry showed that the game can be improved through the game files and improve what the game was promised as rtgi, and even improve that promised x10 the detail on the track and the paint of the cars in the game, just It is a question of whether Turn 10 takes action on the matter and delivers some “promised” update that could save the game from the multiple holes it has.
In my experience, enabling rtgi and better drawing distance, grass, better quality of ray tracing reflections and lod, makes the game look like in the 2022 marketing and developer direct publications.
I also took the time to improve the color grading of the game trying to be similar to the trailers which makes a big difference in the game and really gives a greater margin of difference to the current game graphically speaking.
Just look at the images I took at Le Mans, they even look like marketing photos that turn 10 uses, but in reality they are not.
There are many issues with this game at the moment in terms of visuals but the track detail is not one of them. The tracks look very nice, especially on PC. There’s room for improvement as Turn 10 promised even more detail on the tracks in pre-release footage. But when compared to Forza 7, I think they really delivered a substantial upgrade. The trees alone, which are now 3D give a massive visual uplift and make the tracks feel more realistic.
When you have a working game you can afford to think about content.
When you have a game that is still full of bugs adding new content brings new bugs.
Right now I would like a stable game, with a reliable class progression system, serious and immediate penalties, and multiplayer lobbies where I can have fun without going crazy because a user knocks me off the track at the first corner.
When we have a game like this we welcome all subsequent content. If the goal is to turn Forza Motorsport into Flight Simulator (a solid base and constant updates) the problem is that the base for Forza is lacking today.
Come on FM8 superplayers, (you know who you are). I posted some real life car and track photos. Right now I say it stands at real life 3 forza 0. Pitching a no hitter so far. Let’s see those blow away reality images.
Sometimes I really want Forza to succeed but then I look again at the game and the flaws that it have and then I realize that this game will never be at the level of GT7 never… Car detail ? Never …
GT7 is a dedicated work. Forza Motorsport is just a woke product, new car the Lamborghini reventón sounds like any other Lamborghini V12 … Copy paste so that tells that they just don’t care about sound differences. Even on last gen Forza you have so many better and great things that beat the new game.
And a new forza aero wing? Cooy and oasted from FH5? Seriously? Not Seriously. If their just going to copy and paste then just copy and paste the FM7 tracks and get on with some actual new tracks.
GT 1-7 - built by car people for car people.
Forza - built by Pacific NW eco people who probably bike to work.
Night shot looks amazing? Well, if legoland in FH4 looks amazing then yeah, I guess it looks amazing. The curbing on the outside of the turn looks like lego blocks. Maybe it is, maybe it was cut and pasted from FH4. Here’s three night shots, two from Sebring and one from Nordschleife.
And since the forza night shot is made with lego blocks and has those fakery lamp posts, I’m claiming another unearned run. So with the three and the one that’s a grand slam homer. Makes the score real life 8 forza 0.
If that’s the case then I’m glad we’re going head to head with forza and not with Assetto Corsa Competizione. As I was looking for a Nordschleife night photo I was almost fooled by this one until I looked closer.
