I say we should just have gifting become a feature again. Let people figure out what they will and won’t share, stick a warning* message before every attempt to gift an item. The community will take care of the rest and it will open more doors for creative collaborations.
* "You are about to send an editable item to another player. Once the player has received the item, they can re-send, modify and upload the item as if they created it themselves. Are you sure you want to continue? [Yes / No]
Gifting was great but caused a lot of headaches for a lot of people. I also noticed that once gifting when away and people had to make everything on there own we had a lot less talented painters… #intresting…
I would like to see T10 enable some sort of an “locked” gifting feature.
“Yes” to all of the above. Personally, the ability to gift & the freedom to decide if it’s locked or not (like we used to have) would be perfect for how I’d like to share in FM7. Not really expecting it to be much different from what it is now tbh, so I won’t whinge if it doesn’t materialise. I’ll just find a way that suits me best with what we’re given.
well the " centralized storefront " was a good thing in forza4 that they removed in forza5…
for the "resolution " on designs and vynyls … they are just vector images, not raster images ( check google for the difference ) so the resolution on cars depends only how turn10 have set them on car…
This is the screen that shows up when you buy a new car. As with Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 6 a number of designs are recommended to you before you complete your purchase.
Still no word on if this is a thing that will carry over however, which for me personally is a make-or-break feature.
Just posted this in another thread but since it’s relevant here too I figured I’d copy it over:
There are 2 things that are make-or-break for me with a Forza title:
The ability for players to easily find all of a person’s user-generated content via a centralised Storefront system.
The ability to jump into any Public Hopper and have a clean race with no intentional wreckers showing up to ruin peoples’ day.
[2] is a frequent topic on these forums and there’s no need for me to re-iterate anything regarding it here.
Regarding [1], Forza Horizon 3 did a very good job. Every player had their own Storefront screen that others could look up, where you could view every Vinyl Group, Design, Tune or Photo they have shared. You could follow your favourite creators to have a list of bookmarked Storefronts, and push their Designs and Tunes to the front of the Recommended Designs/Tunes section when you’re looking to customise your car. All of that was great; it was simple to understand, navigate and also gave content creators a very easy way to inform people of where to find their “work”.
Here’s the thing: we have heard absolutely nothing about whether or not a Storefront system like this will be available in Forza Motorsport 7. There has been no news, no mentions of it in interviews and when I have tried to kindly ask Turn 10 staff via Twitter about this feature’s inclusion, all I could find was a wall of silence. All of that is starting to convince me that the Storefront is not going to be featured in this game, which in turn will make it significantly harder for people to discover high quality content.
As with Clubs, Campaign Co-Op and a few other Horizon-based features I fear that Storefronts are going to be one of those things you only see in Horizon games from this point onward. It makes me think that if I want “community features” I should just skip Motorsport and stick with Horizon every second year…
I’m hoping that there will be a quick way of importing multiple liveries across at once from fm6 and fh3 because I have made a lot of liveries and importing them manually will take a lot of time… Not sure if anything has been mentioned about this yet but I would assume it’s an overlooked topic.
I am REALLY surprised that there hasn’t been a peep about storefronts, sharing Liveries all that sort. I mean I haven’t seen or heard a thing, that is strange. One of the first things talked about on Horizon 3 was the AH coming back, storefronts and all. Considering this is a thing that people care a lot about and even if not perfect, it was a lot better than what 6 had. If they did no changes and kept the same as 6 and carried nothing H3 had… that will be very disappointing. The more time passes and seeing nothing, makes me think it’s the same as 6…
Havent painted since FM4. Created my own logos etc. My personal Ken Block version took 34 hours to create. Also did up a number of abstract paints on various cars and Club logos and fonts. I have been waiting a long time for a store front…Cheers (first post)
It wouldn’t be the first time that things have gone “backwards” however.
The “basket” method of ordering multiple upgrades before committing to a purchase has already been cut, as have Clubs and Co-Op. I just hope that this isn’t another one of those things that gets regressed.
The player looks through some recommended designs, and selects [Design Options] on one of them.
3 options come up: Follow Creator, Gamercard, Report Offensive Content.
In Forza Horizon 3 there was a 4th option: View Player’s Storefront.
It looks to me that the centralised Storefront system from Forza Horizon 3 is gone and we’re reverting to the system used in Forza Motorsport 6. This is a step back in my opinion; I’ve already stated a few posts higher why the Horizon system was an improvement and I’m disappointed to see those changes undone.
Seems strange that turn 10 would be keeping some of these features separate from the two games. Shame they couldn’t keep the two titles as similar as possible, sharing the success/failures or each title to improve the next game.
[Mod Edit - Hieronymus (Inappropriate link removed)]
I found some footage of the livery editor just now.
A message shows up when you start to apply Decals, explaining how layer ordering works, recommending this forum to get advice from fellow painters, and a warning about not creating content that breaks Terms of Service.
All of the Vinyl Shapes from Forza Horizon 3 are present, no new ones or any removed.
The list of Manufacturer Decals looks to be pretty much the same as well.
