Vinyls & liveries transfer (game to game, console to console)

As someone who’s spent a lot of time in FH3 building up a decent size library of Vinyls and Liveries, I’ve not yet seen anything that confirms FM7 will let you upload your FM6/FH3/etc designs to use in game… or if we’ll have to start from scratch.

I can’t see Turn 10 making us start again… but it would be nice to have confirmation TBH…

That’s something I’d like to know too, as would other painters I imagine.

Starting from scratch can only happen if there’s a generation leap, or something that could make previous painters incompatible

I hope we don’t have to start from scratch and I don’t see why we would.

I can’t imagine a scenario where they wouldn’t include that feature. As it’s something that’s been in the last 4 Forza games and something the community has come to count on. T10 seems to want to encourage user-made content … and not including this at launch would greatly reduce the amount of quality content available … something that could also negatively affect game sales.

We’ve seen features get removed before so who knows

When the xbox one was launched I lost thousands of hours of work. Starting again from scratch in FM5 all but did me in. Then we had the glitchy transfer to FM6. I for one wil not start again from nothing.

“Had a few questions from our painters about this, so am happy to confirm that paint and vinyl transfers from FM6 to FM7 is gonna happen.”

Forza Horizon 3 importing is also confirmed.

[Mod Edit - XBox One X and moving liveries? thread merged - MM]
I really don’t want to have to re-do all of my custom manufacturer logos and artwork when moving to a new console. Is there a sensible solution in the pipeline, to aid transferring files across?

You might have to install whatever game has all your liveries so it downloads them from the cloud as part of your save file, but yeah.

Even for a non-gold member. I might go gold at some point, I’m just waiting to see what a crash-fest it is first!

It will just work like it does with Horizon 3, everything you built in Forza 6 or Horizon 3 is available in Forza 7, no matter ifvyou are on One, One X or PC.

Cool, I’d never really given any thought as to where my saves, layer groups and designs were stored. I just remember having some awesome stuff on FM2 and 3, which never made the jump to One, then my 360 hdd failed, and now it’s all gone!

The reason that 360 designs and vinyls never made the jump is that they weren’t compatible with the XBox One architecture and couldn’t be used. Anything created on the One Forza games (FM5, FM6, FH2, FH3) will all be compatible with FM7 no matter which system you’re using to play it.

I was thinking this was going to be about animated liveries … which would be amazing lol.

It will be interesting to see if the liveries get a bump in resolution, seeing as they were lower resolution in Horizon 3 than in FM6, but I’m absolutely assuming they will just add 7 to the list to carry things over.

There are no different versions to buy one month after initial release. That’s the basic underlying principal of the Play Anywhere system. You purchase the same game once and can install and play it on all systems … One, OneS, OneX and PC.

I’ve spent countless hours creating Vinyls and designs in horizon 3. Does anyone know if they will transfer over to motorsports 7? I see tabs on horizon 3 for transfers g designs and tunes from other games but this is my first game that I’ve messed with tuning and designing

Was confirmed a long time ago

So Yes they are transferable

Wonder if the PC version will have mouse support for the livery editor. How does it work in FH3? Is it more comfortable than on console?
