I too believe this would have been a nice addition but to simply replace class based racing altogether for this [Mod Edit - Hieronymus (Please do not attempt to abbreviate the word ‘homologation’)] stuff gives us much less to do with the 700 cars they provided. I just dont see why we couldnt have both. I love the game but the graphical down scaling, loss of toyota(GT sport has lexus and toyota) and the elimination of class based racing makes it feel bitter sweet for me. I’ve never been this disappointed in a forza title, not even 5 hurt this much. Still, I will continue to try and get the most out of the game but its taking way too much effort to enjoy this game unfortunately
toyota is in the game just focused on racing cars and yeah but it can be tuned a bit but tbh i dont want it opened back up again because we will be back to the problem of op cars again and i dont have an issue that the lexus is missing and the toyota road cars are gone because this is forza Motorsport after all.
homologation is rather long and I’m not even sure i can get the word right without looking at it lol…but i can see how the abbreviation could be an issue and I’m sorry if I offended anyone, was not my intention
I’ve had lots of fun with the game, it’s enjoyable when you take it for what it is. 700 cars is great, the list of tracks is great, the career is great.
But the amount of bugs in this game make it hard to enjoy. As do the loot crate, push towards microtransaction system, some much needed features just… haven’t been added. There are things other games are doing that Forza really could be doing. Abilty to apply decals to windows, abilty to have different rims on the back and front, or paint them different colors. Abilty to use ‘textured’ paint on decals like chrome or whatever, things like qualifying etc.
That said, imo, its a good step in a direction of the series, it just needs some fine tuning. Forza 4 is still my favorite, but I cant lie, this game is enjoyable, and my second favorite of the lot.
I might agree with you if they give us some Rivals events that I can use my own tuned cars in. At the moment as soon as I’ve finished career I’ll be finished with this game. I don’t play multiplayer and I’m not motivated to collect cars and racing suits that I will never use.
Turn 10’s decision to remove this core game feature has killed the game for me.
I’m enjoying it a lot and I like the new division system, I’m willing to try new things and I’m sure they will fine tune this over time. I hope they make some open hoppers for the fans who don’t like divisions, I’m a big Forza fan and I don’t like seeing other fans disappointed, but if I am to be honest I will say I’m really enjoying this game too and I like the idea of Divisions. I used to hate it in the past where each online race was dominated by a few leaderboard cars. These cars would fly to number 1 position and there was no way in hell I could catch up. Things appear more even now, I like it it. But we need more time to understand the impact of the changes but so far I’m having a great time, I just want them to add a few more divisions to online so I Can use more cars from my garage.
The first six Forza Motorsport games have always had the choice for players to heavily upgrade their cars or use a “fair” car in career, that and the big careers they had were a winning formula for people that loved single player. That option is now gone. I don’t think I’ve ever heard people say they wanted tighter restrictions in career.
I think homolgation is a good idea but in practice it has issues. It massively detracts the appeal of the Forza career (the upgrading) in my opinion, it does sound good for multiplayer but a few cars will still always dominate. Optional PI class lobbies would be nice for people that like them in multiplayer.
As somebody that only plays career, the poor AI and lack of upgrading like the older games has put me off playing FM7. It’s even more frustrating when I hear that the physics and FFB are better than previous games.
Really? You don’t see what the problem is? So, you don’t think people have a right to be upset about the fact that they paid $100 for a game, and received a buggy mess that won’t even start up and is filled with loot boxes? My friend if you don’t see what the problem is, then it is because you’re blind. I suggest removing the corporate blinders from your eyes.
To be fair, the dude can enjoy whatever he wants to enjoy, but if you enjoy the game and you’re coming to the forums to tell everyone who is not enjoying it that they are wrong you deserve to have someone do the same to you.
I think what a lot of people who are enjoying the career or multiplayer may be missing is that once upon a time the players of this game could go do exactly what they wanted with no pushback from the developers. Want to have a lobby that does nothing but cat’n’mouse on nurburgring all day? You can, and others can search for it. Want to be the suzuka pro racers club and do nothing but race every possible combination of cars on only suzuka? You can, and people can search for it and join you. Want to setup a lobby that only allows asian imports and drift the day away? no problem. Most of us who have been playing since FM1 have a long list of friends in forza that we know like to race the same styles as us. But that is all gone now. There is no way for new players to find that group that speaks to their individuality, in fact individuality and forza are like oil and water right now. Even the things they appear to be trying to fix have gotten worse. I never remember hoppers in the past being all one car, yet i’d wager that 95%+ of cars in hot hatch are currently clio '10s. I dont even care about that as they are not even taking the top times, just filling the lobbies, but as i have stated this was never really a problem… its a chicken and egg question… did everyone start driving that car because it filled the leaderboard or did someone get a top10 tune and use it and beat a lobby with it until they all got it and the chain reaction led to everyone believing it was superior thus filling leaderboards with it? I think its silly to call a car a leaderboard car when it doesnt even take half of the top 10 times, but this has been tradition in forza for people who cant drive to blame the popularity of a single car for their inability to beat other drivers, i just wish turn10 was smart enough to see through that and spent their time and effort giving us options not taking them away.
LOL, thats because the AI is easier… MUCH easier… if you could play most races on expert in other forza game, you can probably beat unbeatable now (i can), the only difference seems to be the AI is a bit more aggressive now (more like the bad racers than the good ones; hammering you on corners, edging you to the grass on straights if its part of their driving line)… but that can be used against them.
in neither way is that an improvement, in my opinion, and yet those aren’t even things i take issue with in forza 7, FM7 has much bigger problem as a forza game… as a typical driving game its great… as a forza game its a disappointment and certianly not worth the price of admission given i’ll eventually have to go back for forza 6 if they don’t heavily alter if not scrap homologation… the only other alternative i see is seeing if project cars 2 got right what forza 7 deliberately got wrong.
thats a stupid and awul position turn10 has put the forza tuners in… go back to 6 or pick another game tuning focused racing game… great business strategy (was that operation kill the golden goose)… lol
Well if the OP doesn’t see what the problem is, he should just leave the forums and play the game. I do find it hilarious when people come on the forums to complain about negative comments and pretend like everything is great with the game…well if the game is that great, they should spend less time complaining about negative comments and go and enjoy the game…clearly if they would rather come here to complain about negative comments instead of playing the game, then the game cant be that great. Lucky them that they enjoy it, others dont, everyone has a right to voice their opinion (without being shutdown for it). The amount of negative comments tell you that theres clearly something wrong with the game, the majority do not like it.
There is a LOT thats wrong with FM7, thats fact and the likes of loot boxes, driver gear etc. do not belong in Forza Motorsport, thats rubbish that belongs in Horizon. The homologation stuff is great, but the class based stuff needs to go back in, theres no doubt, the freedom to do what you want needs to be there, thats simply Forza Motorsport.
The lack of things to do beyond career is laughable, i dont pay to get half a game and then wait weeks/months for the features to be put in. I want everything from the start, thats how it should be…any new stuff added in thereafter is DLC or Expansion, not core features lol embarrassing.
That’s not quite what it tells us but, arguendo, point taken.
Per your own recommendation, it would appear that the vast majority like it well enough to be playing it instead of posting here, positively or negatively.
I’d be more inclined to say that the majority of them do not like it, but cant be asked to post on here.
I also like how the game has got great reviews from Metacritic, IGN etc. (whoever they are), but then when you look at the reviews and score from the public, they aren’t very good.
