Forza Motorsport 7 Features Wish Lists

I have three more things I wish to add. When creating a driver you can pick what nationality, and race number. I also wish for the return of multi-class races, and race through traffic. Finally, I wish the damage indicator to not only display text, but also a graphical representation of the car with the damaged parts highlighted.

  1. Adust PI to stop penalizing lower revving engines and wider power band enignes/parts. It limits not only the engine options, but car options for the leaderboards if they do not have one of the appropriate narrow power band engines/parts. Even if you adjust for power to weight ratio to be equivalent (allowing for a high PI on the wider power band car), the wider power band parts tend to perform nearly identical to the narrow one. The advantages from a wider power band are given way too much weight. One example, I built a 77 Trans Am with a 5.7L V8/Centrifugal Supercharger at 400 PI and one using the stock motor with cams for power. It took 22 more PI to match the power to weight of the other motor, and it still had a worse weight distribution (58% vs 57% for the former). The two raced nearly identical at 400 vs 422 PI respectively, with the advantage to the former slightly.

Not every car comes with access to these engines or that specific supercharger. You’d see more variety of cars and parts used if the weight given to the wider power band was taken away. Add the weight back in for simulation perhaps, but the leaderboards do not require simulation damage.

Can’t remember which thread it was, and I apologize for being unable to recall who to credit for the idea, but someone suggested selling used cars back to the game and having them pop up as used cars for sale on other peoples games (in addition to the auction house if you had something special). This gave me an idea. There is apparently some sort of arbitrary limit on storage which prevents having more cars in your garage, whether we agree or not that’s the way it is. We can’t have every car in our garage at once. What if the garage limit was way smaller, so you would have to manage your vehicle roster? You could have some achievements for things like owning every car in the game at some point, buying/selling a certain number of vehicles, manufacturer and vehicle loyalty (like if you held on to one special one for a long time), hitting a certain dollar figure for total garage value, basically make wheeling and dealing cars part of the game? It should be a large enough number so people aren’t restricted from competing in events, and definitely have some cars that are exceptions to the total (pre-order and launch bonus cars, etc.).

Add the blueprint feature in Horizon to custom make races/ championships with a host of options and possible restrictions.

menu system:

*Have 2 or 3 options to choose from when you select the START button (ex GO RACE,ONLINE AND OPTIONS
*The first menu screen should have all of the Forza Motorsport series Cover cars (the main featured car) in a sort of slide show effect
*More environments to choose from when viewing your car in Forzavista
*with environments still, there should be an option to choose a track to have your car race on during a menu screen
*Forza 4 Race select system was amazing BRING IT BACK

In game features:

*Raise/Lower your car volume AND AI car volume instead of having your car the loudest all the time
*Practice system should involve you exiting the pits and having other cars on the track
*Qualifying???
*More random mechanical failures on the track (non crashing failures such as a wheel falling off or a cylinder shattering)
*A real pit crew would be nice instead of sound effects
*Trainable pit crew to be faster and more efficient in the pits
*Crew Chief to tell you what is going on around the track (ex " Your doing great buddy" or telling if a car has entered the pits etc.)
*when you buy a car there should be a cutscene of a guy or girl clicking a buy now button on a computer (the cutscene can change depending of what kind of car it is

Vehicles (in short)
MORE CAN-AM CARS

Blueprint feature (like in FH3) would be nice.

And my biggest wish, a virtual garage similar to the Project Gotham Racing ones, where you can place vehicles in different places, and have multiple vehicles on display. Along with being able to have multiple garages.

Additional Upgrade Path - Wheel Angle Mod

Since Forza 4, drifting has been perhaps the best in any racing title. But, it would be way more realistic with the ability to upgrade the maximum angle at which your tires can turn. ALL drift cars that compete have these Angle mods installed, as your ability to get and stay sideways is greater, and much more stable. To be honest, it is the last feature for Drifting that is not in the game, that I can think of. I beg Turn 10 to include it in Forza 7, as nearly EVERYONE that drifts will agree with the added benefits of such a realistic addition to Forza 7.

All I want is good programming for wheel users. Then I’ll come back Forza Motorsports. After playing games like project cars and assetto corsa on the wheel, it just feels wrong going back to forza.

Lots of good ideas here. I think whatever ends up happening though, please for the love of God release some sort of beta prior to the game’s launch. It doesn’t even have to be an open beta, it could just be done by some trustworthy community members (marshals, Forza RC finalists, etc.) as these are the guys that will be most likely to find any issues with things like hopper structure, track limitations, how any penalty system could work, etc. so we don’t have to keep pointing out time and time again issues that may or may not be fixed in the future.

Other than that, just some sort of acknowledgement from Turn 10 itself whenever issues are pointed out would be a huge step in the right direction. It is getting kind of annoying when issues with FM6 are brought up over and over again but we get no response other than the occasional “check terms and conditions” when talking about rammers.

One that’s just popped into my head, rally stages.

Had another idea that might help solve a couple of online wrecker problems, and I’m admitting right now that I am as guilty as anyone of this one. Make it so you can only compete in public ghost lobbies until you’ve run x number of clean laps on y number of tracks with rewind disabled, and maybe the driving line as well. I’ve seen a lot of crashes online (and caused a couple of of them myself), where the offending driver simply and obviously didn’t know the track well enough. An example of this would be a league race a few weeks ago when one of the versions of Alps that I never run popped up (club reverse, I think?), I turned the braking line on to help me a little, but there was too much traffic on lap one to really see it, and completely blew a turn and took out a couple of people. Completely my fault. I can drive a great deal of tracks in the game and never put a wheel wrong, but once in a while one pops up that I never touch, and things occasionally go badly. It occurred to me that the magic Y button had let me get a little lazy with learning some of the tracks, and probably a lot of other people, too.

On the subject of the driving/braking line, I almost never use it (until Alps Club or something like that pops up online), but other people obviously do, and I’ve noticed it’s very hard to see it in traffic. Could it be made so it’s visible through traffic, or could there be an indicator somewhere else on screen to compliment it, like a brake light or something?

Another thing for this game is a more rock heavy soundtrack like in the first game. In fact, here some music for the game’s menu

My Features wish list for new forza game

Return of gifting cars

Sell cars from garage [Not removing them]

Wide body kits and Vehicle customizations

Making own Blueprint races and championships like horizon 3

Local leaderboards in single player free play and/or a Top Gear Power Lap type event for each track, sortable by overall and class.

Also I’d like to be able to reset all my cars to stock at once instead of having to get in each car and doing it one by one.

  • More Australian cars, especially the older ones with a race history.

  • More Australian tracks including the original Bathurst layout without The Chase.

  • A proper, working drag strip and career events.

  • The Eboladrome track from The Grand Tour plus Clarkson, Hammond and May.

  • Overhaul the drivatar system because the current one isn’t working.

  • Overhaul the PI system because the current one needs a few modifications. eg tyres raise PI far too much. Nobody races a car on a race track using street tyres.

  • A more in depth career mode.

  • Pike’s Peak plus other hill climb/time trial tracks.

  • A Rally expansion.

  • Either get Porsche in game or drop the Porsche expansion completely for something new. Same with NASCAR.

While I feel FM6 was a huge step toward the quality FM4 had, I can still think of a few features (often stolen/adapted from other games) which I’d like to see in FM7, which will hopefully be listed in some sort of logical order below.

Game Modes:

  • I loved the ‘Horizon Rally’ DLC for FH1, and I love the off-road handling in FH3, so I’d really like to see some sort of rallying in FM7. Drivers like Kimi Raikkonen, Seb Loeb and Robert Kubica have proven their credentials on both the tarmac and the dirt, so I think it would fit into career mode really well. Real life stages such as Col de Turini and Sweet Lamb would be great, but if not just a wide range of locations with a few stages in each (Australia, Wales, Monte-Carlo, Germany, Finland, Sweden, you get the gist) would suffice imo. When selecting a circuit in free mode, maybe list as ‘circuits’, ‘rally stages’ and ‘hillclimbs’ do avoid over-cluttering.
  • In career mode, it’d be nice to see the inclusion of real life events like the Le Mans 24h, 6h Silverstone, Daytona 500, etc. to give a real-life feel to the events, rather than just being told it’s a race at that circuit.
  • As you’ve secured a contract with NASCAR, I would like to see it in FM7 from release, maybe with older cars too? (Dale Sr/Richard Petty?)
  • An option to race structured race weekends (with practice/qualifying like in the F1/NASCAR games) would be cool, perhaps even with other support races you can race in? This wouldn’t float everyone’s boat though, so keeping it as an option would be good.
  • On a side note, motorbikes would be cool, but if you’re gonna do it please do it properly. Every time someone mentions bikes in Forza I have visions of when TDU added bikes and there were like 3 in the entire game.

Customisation:

  • I LOVED the widebody kits in FH3, so please please keep them in for FM7.
  • Can’t help but feel the range of body parts available for each car narrows each time a new game is released, it;d be nice to see some of the older parts from FM4 and earlier again.
  • Ability to spec different parts when buying a car (like on the old Test Drive Unlimited games). For example, if I bought a BMW M4 I could choose from several different wheels and the colour of the interior, which would be a nice option in-game. A range of stock wheels for each car is a much-needed feature IMO (especially with the Porsche 918. Weissach Package PLEASE)
  • On Assetto Corsa, race cars are listed as the model of race car, then you can choose from a range of real-world liveries for that car once you’ve clicked on it. A feature like this would be great, teamed with a greater variety of real-world liveries (such as 007/009 for the Aston DBR9 or liveries from different seasons - Like in FM3)
  • In Forza games for the 360, you could choose the colour of the car you drive in free play, I really miss this! :frowning:
  • As well as widebody, please keep expanding on new FH3 features like license plates and tyre writing. The ability to have a wide variety of license plates would be a great addition for relatively little effort, and tyre writing from IRL tyre companies (Like on Midnight Club 3) would make certain cars look an awful lot better (modern F1 cars look funny without Pirelli tyres)

Misc:

  • In loading screens, it’d make it far better if you had random facts come up, either about the track you’re driving on, or the car/manufacturer you’re driving. I’d even be happy to write a list for you
  • In terms of adding cars/tracks, I’m pretty happy with FM6, but it’s a real shame when you look forward to a new game and then your favourite car/track from the previous game isn’t on there. I’m sure you’ve heard this plenty of times but bear in mind that people would like to see the return of the likes of Suzuka/Super GT Cars/Point to Point
  • I’d like to be able to turn drivatars completely off and be able to race against people like M.Rossi again!

Hope this gets read, but won’t be too heartbroken if FM7 is just FM6 upgraded, as it’s only second best to FM4 in my view. But I’d like to be able to change the colour of my car in free play. Please?

Don’t waste any resources getting the Top Gear goofs in this game again, take those resources and do a tie in with an organization like the IMSA or something instead. Make this game more about MOTORSPORT instead of focusing on car culture. Leave car culture for Horizon, It works better with the whole open world concept that game has.

Also, I understand charging money for DLC, but tracks should be free for everyone. I have both Homestead and VIR but I have not played them much because they are completely absent in lobby rotations. You are alienating the people who have bought it and those who haven’t. Because of this, I will not be buying anymore DLC like the NASCAR or Porsche packs if it keeps up like this, I paid over $40 for those two packs and got very little out of them. This is coming from someone who has bought ALL the dlc since I got into this series 9 or 10 years ago.

Hoppers are stale and have been the same for 10 years. Bring divisions and more laps to regular hoppers. IMO double laps should be the standard in public hoppers, its not harder you just spend more time actually playing the game instead of sitting in the menus and loading screen. The 4-5 min races within a 2 minute break in between is brutal, I suppose they are good if you have the attention span of a goldfish, but for people like me who actually like to play the game they are a snore. Divisions would be nice because I want to play against people that are at my skill level, playing in public hoppers is more like dodging moving obstacles than racing most of the time.

  1. In Race
    a) Split times at intermediates
  • Very common feature in motorsports and should be added as an accurate way to judge distances then just being in the spectator tickers
    b) Improved dirtying system
  • Going beyond the white lines should always be dirty, some tracks like COTA for example this isn’t the case
  • Unfortunately corner cutting and cheating never results in punishment, perhaps DNFs for repeated offenses
  • Tyre barriers block drivers from cutting however often result in drivers bouncing back into the track and causing large crashes
  1. Spectator Mode
    a) TV Position Spectator Position
  • Spectator mode that is similar to as if watching the race from home from a TV broadcast of the race
    b) Ticker Improvements
  • Sadly doesn’t work if multiple buckets involved and only works for sprint races
  • The option to have it fixed on a certain ticker type with out it switching quickly to another setting
  1. Multiplayer Lobby
    a) Custom Lobby Search
  • Great feature from Forza 4 that allowed for a variety of hopper like lobbies that have varying rules and were easily found
    b) Game setting saves
  • Majorly helpful when running leagues like TORA as setting pre saves can easily be pulled up instead of repeated changing rules for events
    c) Lobby qualifying
  • League races are a bit finicky when trying to sort out qualifying as shown by ESL after doing a qualifying session it can be tricky to re order the grid and could appear as another tab option like General, Advanced, Buckets etc
    d) Open Lobbies
  • Players can jump in and out of the track freely like in Gran Turismo lounge and wouldn’t have to wait around for lobbies to finish to join in a mess around
  • Adds an easy Free Practise session like option to lobbies
  • Wouldn’t have to hope in and out of separate cars with long load screens in between to perform performance tests
    e) More Player buckets
  • Without the ability to balance cars properly buckets are the best thing but only having four is often very restrictive when regulating cars
    f) The ability to better manage car BoP
  • Car groups like GT3 are very unbalanced and some cars are just awful while other are amazing causing for a variety of differing car builds for place to place
  • If extra buckets aren’t added then BoP menus would be helpful to make sure each car is evenly balanced
    g) More Accurate Car Categories
  • All of the GT race cars are grouped together despite belonging to vastly different categories with different regulations, eg GT500 and GT4
    h) The ability to adjust tyre and fuel degradation separately
  • Rate of fuel usage with full tanks could be adjusted depending on race type, short endurance fast fuel usage
  • Some cars appear to go through tyre rapidly and unrealistically fast
  • Fast, Slow and Realistic paces for tyre and fuel degradations, adjustable individually
    I) Selecting Drivatar cars
  • Drivatars usually seem to gravitate around the same few cars despite there being multiple cars for that one class, ability to pick and choose which ones they drive would be great
  1. Painting
    a) The ability to sort and organise livery and vinyl files
  • Only way to organise files, shared and unshared, is to change the name without changing it which is slow but having the ability to sort by car, year, date made or alphabetical name would be very handy and speedy
    b) Certain cars paintable areas
  • Some cars are very tricky to paint as areas either bleed or are unpaintable examples are Mazda Lola B12/80 and 2011 McLaren 12C GT3
    c) Painting on Carbon Fibre
  • Some cars have carbon fibre wings that you can tab onto but nothing shows up because its carbon fibre and the Nissan Altima to name an example had a paintable carbon fibre rear wing but now nothing shows up on it
    d) Window Banners
  • Window banners are common for race cars and them disappearing when painting is undesirable if doing replicas or any race themed livery, few cars retain them when painting them sadly

I also have to say I strongly agree with PJTierney and his list of features, he has clearly put more time into coming up with improvements

If PC players were able to play Forza 5 or 6 I would know where we stood in terms of cars and tracks but nope.

Therefore, I would love to see the return of Fujimi Kaido. Preference on adding more low- to medium-end tuners to race on it. Additionally, on Fujimi Kaido, I would love to see a pit stop or parking area looking down at the track so you could see racers come around.
