Forza Horizon 5 is at a probable end of official content

The post that announced the Xbox/Bethesda showcase was posted on Twitter a while ago. But unfortunately, it seems that in the image of it. Only Forza Motorsport is shown.

Which means there might be very likely to have no infos about FH5´s first expansion. Since that all of it will be used for the announcement of FM8.
If that’s so, I could definitely say that the game ended it’s support upon that kind of new content (No, new playlists with only new additional cars is NOT new content. Not to mention, the playlist rewards are bad)

It’s against the law for them not to give us DLC, because DLC was sold with the game on VIP.

VIP comes with 2 DLC for about £100

Premium Edition comes with DLC expansions, VIP does not. The VIP DLC was cars, and we already got that.

well there is an additional xbox showcase event two days later @ 06/14 to show even more new trailers and gameplay stuff etc.
together with developers and content creators
broadcast in 5 languages

Im pretty sure t10 and/or pgg will be arround there…
and I expect they create much hype for the first expansion

I knew one of them did anyway, because I decided to wait to see what the DLC was.

They’re not going to end additional content for FH5. Honestly, that’s kind of ridiculous. It recently broke 20 million players (yes I know most of them only tried it out), and is one of Microsoft’s biggest games in terms of money being made.

You can be certain that two expansions will be delivered considering many people already paid for them.

A trailer for the first expansion can be shown in a couple of minutes and there’s a second show on the 14th that mentions new trailers.

I still think it will be shown at the main show on the 12th though.

not being sassy, but id love to see the official document on if it made any money in the long run.

because it was and still is free on gamepass, i’d argue it makes them next to nothing in actual game sales. might have helped boost monthly subscriptions in november, but even that is a tough corrolation to make.

If you’re playing it, it means you bought it discretely on PC (Windows/Steam) or you bought it for Xbox or Xbox/Play Anywhere (PC), or you’re on GamePass…which costs a bundle once the trials run out. Turn 10 and Playground are both under the Microsoft Umbrella so guaranteed everyone is getting paid and it’s popularity seems to make even FH4’s adoption look small.

There will absolutely be DLC for these games, it’s not a question.

The reason they aren’t hyping it up is because the game isn’t even a year old at this point, and this is a games-as-a-service so they will likely stretch out its lifecycle to 2.5 to 3 years if they can, so they have to delay DLC drops a bit to keep people wanting. The other and probably key reason is because Motorsport 8 has been delayed for a few years and they want it to not have to share the spotlight when it finally goes live.

Turn 10 and Playground are not in competition, each game serves a different audience but share the same lucrative property under the Microsoft Umbrella. I have no idea how people came up with the idea that FH5 is somehow “end of lifed” :stuck_out_tongue:

FM8 will be released late 2022 or early 2023.

FM5 expansion 1 will be released in the upcoming series 10.

FM5 expansion 2 will be released half way between the release of expac 1 and FM8 release or close to release of FM8.

All of this will basically be confirmed shortly at the Xbox showcase.

It isn’t free on gamepass. I play it on gamepass. Costs $16+change a month on gamepass. So yes, essentially it’s free on gamepass. But the gamepass gimmick rakes in big bucks for Microsoft. If you’re on gamepass you have to weigh the odds of the cost. But to get the full benefits of playing the games you’ll need gamepass anyway.

I play on gamepass and like 2 million others I paid 40 bucks for the expansions and early access.

Thats 80 million dollars in presold expansions alone.

That goes a long way in funding the costs.

I paid $99 one time and will get everything forever.
After free trials - what is game pass per month? $15.99/$24.99?

If all you play is one or a couple games - sorry to say you will pay far more in the long run than those of us that paid one time will.

The only value to game pass is if you regularly play a lot of games and like to try out new titles before you buy outright - if you stick with a single or a couple games, you’re losing $ long run.

13€ for gamepass ultimate, best deal in games

Man, if they added a salt powered car it’d be the fastest thing in the game. :weary::roll_eyes:

Not quite true. Xbox Gold is required for Xbox players to play FH5 online. So unless you want to play Horizon Solo you’re pretty much forced into subscribing to Xbox Ultimate using the $1 Xbox Gold conversion trick.

Fun fact: Not to long ago Xbox required players to purchase Xbox Gold to play free online games by other studios…

Unless you just play the game offline. But to get the updates, and the dlc, and I’m not sure but I believe even the game upgrades you have to have at least xbox live gold. But you have to have live gold to play online anyway and that’s about 2/5 the cost of gamepass. So either way Microsoft is raking in the money from xbox players. It seems to me, this is a rather pointless side of a rather pointless discussion because…

FH5 is still far from it’s end of life cycle.

Yes and no. The game will exist for years to come but it most definitely ran out of content many months ago. Since then it’s been in a holding state as many players are waiting for the first expansion to breath new life back into the game with fresh new content. Fortunately this isn’t too far away.
