Runs perfectly with every setting on it’s highest possible. Enjoyed it however having sound issues. Very distorted/noisy. Like watching an old stuttering tv. Anyone else?
+1 on this, HOW DO I FIX THIS!!! Literally tried everything and can’t fix this problem aswell, btw this only happens on the PC version, Xbox version’s audio is fine but on PC it does a weird static distortion sound the louder something is, its annoying and why I played the xbox demo instead.
have you not checked the support section and looked at the “fixes”
Trivia: The size of the drivable area in the demo seems to be almost a quarter of the full map (but probably less than that of the road distance), and lets you discover 141 roads out of 500+.
But there isn’t much to do when you go exploring the boundaries of the area, except spotting empty locations for danger signs, and chasing sheep. No Easter eggs that I could find.
Oh no 28GB ![]()
The full game will be out by the time I finish downloading this. …I hate my internet… ![]()
I know that things change from the demo that’s about 2 months old and the final release of the game can be different from the demo, but so far I seem to notice a much better feel to the cars while driving them. I drive with a Fanatec Clubsport V2 wheel and I never could find a good setting in Horizon 3 that made the cars feel more like FM7. While they still don’t feel as good as FM7 the gap seems to have been significantly reduced. With the limited number of cars we can drive in the demo they feel much better than Horizon 3 and I really have not adjusted much yet either. I am pretty optimistic on how the cars will handle and the game is just stunning how goergeous it is!
Awesome job Playground games!!!
Hi there, just a quick question about the demo :
Does the demo contains full game, meaning if i download it now it’ll significantly reduce download of the full game or will it start from scratch ?
Thanks a lot

Nope. Two different installs, as they’re two different identities to Microsoft. You’ll have to do it all, all over again.
I was actually quite impressed with the demo. I got some odd FH1 vibes driving around some of the cities, and I don’t think we’ll be starved of interesting scenery.
Only now am I actually considering a pre-order.
Windows 10 version. No sound during racing but I do get sound during the movies/cinematics. Latest update for Windows 10 (just updated today). Using an Asus Prime Z370-P motherboard with integrated Realtek ALC887 sound chip with latest drivers (6.0.1.8504). I hope the final game doesn’t have this problem.

Players that are experiencing a loss of sound in the Forza Horizon 4 demo should ‘Enable all enhancements’ under Sound > Playback tab > Select your playback device > Properties > Enhancements.

The Forza Horizon 4 Demo does have wide screen support. If it is not auto detecting your resolution, please go to settings > video > resolution in the demo and adjust accordingly.
Remember to check the Tech Support forum and @Forza_Support to see if there are known issues.
did anyone noticed vram in benchmark? it shows 6.7GB but i have 8.0 with my GTX 1070. someone have the same problem?

Same on my system (GTX 1070 Ti). The game runs smooth and looks good though after sorting out my sound issues which seem to have been related to HDMI audio which I’m not using.

I can’t find this. I have no “Enhancements” to enable.
Just tried the demo, and i’m amazed by it! You can definitely feel the difference in grip levels when driving from asphalt to dirt in the charger, much slippery; and the AI don’t have the same crazy grip levels in higher difficulties like in FH3 during the classic muscle races, another plus in my book. Either way, can’t wait for the 28th; hopefully this hurricane doesn’t do as much damage as I predict.
Okay, here are my first impressions:
Graphics:
Absolutely breathtaking. Going against what I usually do, I cranked it up all the way to Ultra, 1440p and 144fps. I never saw the game drop below 100fps as far as I could catch the fps counter. colors, textures, details and the overall smoothness are unlike anything I’ve expected for this game. And this is the first Forza that’s finally using my GPU as efficiently as possible at 99%. There were no noticeable drops or stutter. No jittery menus, no nothing. Just a seamless experience.
Physics:
Went to maximum difficulty. No assists, Simulation steering and all that stuff. I was expecting that vagueness, “floatyness” and slow, over-assisted feel from Horizon 3 and Motorsports 7. What a surprise… The steering response is so sharp without being uncontrollable, oversteer and understeer have a perfect feel and my wheel is not doing that odd cracking and snapping that it does on the other games when countersteering. I am, still mind-blown by how much they changed and improved the feel of the physics. I didn’t even have to mess with my wheel settings.
The brake pedal feels so smooth and progressive at any speed. You can now slowly go to a full stop (like in real life) without the car suddenly losing the brakes when at around 20mph. Something that plagued Forza titles since FM3. I never expected this to be fixed.
Clutch is weird though… It could be a glitch, but it will grind gears no matter what. Even when fully stopped, holding the clutch pedal to the floor and going gear through gear, it will grind. I hope they fix this. Other than that, heel-toe requires a bit of practice (tested on the focus RS). I attribute this to the game simulating a heavier flywheel.
Sound:
Sound is a bit low. Can barely hear my car even with the music off. There is no turbo or blow off sound (or it is so faint it is unnoticeable). I hope they patch this. Sound samples are the same than in the past couple of Forzas, except for the Senna which sounds quite charming ( I know, it’s a new car). I was expecting a repeated sample from the other McLaren cars. Samples might be the same and definitely taken from FM7, but the way they go out your speakers (sound effects) is a bit different; improved, I must say. Deeper, better balanced overall.
Negative aspects:
Tuning seems very bland. Not a lot of options. Same wheels and parts. Upgrades seem lacking of depth. I saw inaccurate HP and Torque figures on the Focus. Basically the Torque copy/pastes the HP figures with any and all upgrade parts. So you’ll see something like this 350HP/350ft-lb, 380HP/380ft-lb, 394HP/394ft-lb and so on…
Other things I liked:
Game seems more mature and civilized. Less obnoxious like FH3 and FM7.
Things I worry about:
That the demo was optimized so it sells. That as soon as the full game launches, performance issues will start again. Incorrect sound samples in some cars. That the clutch glitch is not fixed. That the HP/Torque figures are not fixed.

Thanks for writing this, sounds very promising indeed, can’t wait to try it out.
The low speed braking bug was introduced in fm5 with the shift to xbox one, was never an issue on any forza prior to that.
Is it just me or the rogue AI is still at present, where this one guy/girl just runs away from the pack?

I really hope it goes differently this time. If it doesn’t… deep sigh
…
It’s difficult to comment much on the features (as many of them are locked for the demo), but the ones I have tried all work pretty much as expected.
The numerous characters are pretty irritating and cringey, but that’s the case on all Horizon games (for me at least). Hopefully after the initial intro for each one we don’t see much of them again.
…
I actually like the cringeyness (is that a word?) and cheesiness. They should push it even harder to go all the way, the Test Drive Unlimited way (which was hilarious). I think it is the better approach compared to the approach the NFS games have taken, where it’s also cringey, but in the bad way.
I also don’t understand the video memory field in the benchmark results screen. The game doesn’t use all the available resources?

The game uses around 4.6 Gig of my 8 Gig card running at 1080p during the intro driving sequences.
If the demo resets every time you close, I’m guessing that means it won’t change seasons. Because if we’re going by the demo then Horizon 4 should start in Winter for early peeps and Summer for everyone else.
Also, I REALLY hope there’s more to do week-to-week then cruise around and wait for seasons to change. An open world really, is only as good as the stuff you can do in it.
Cant even get to the winter season. Each time I make it to the waterfall, it freezes. Pun intended
