Downloaded Demo for Windows. Sound is not working for me, except in movies.
Windows 10 (current version)
Current Geforce driver
GTX 970
i5 3570k
16 GB RAM
Some SSDs
Sound output via HDMI
Forza Horizon 3 and FM 7 work.
At least fm7 can get some live now😁 there’s a new game to complain about.
Soooooo the demo feels like same game different map with added hypster avatars, as for technical stuff so far worked almost perfectly with rare stutter
28GB? i think i can wait for the release of the full game.
I can’t…downloading as I write this.
So far, so good. Looks beautiful, runs well on PC. Well kind of, everything maxed out with 4K DSR @ 1920x1200 screen (i7 6700K, 16GB RAM, GTX 1080Ti) won’t give me a stable 60fps (fluctuates between 54-60), but MSAA on 2x or 4x should fix that (FXAA off). Other than that, it’s solid and makes you smile. All CPU cores are doing their job (which was problematic in the beginning with FH3 and FM7).
Very positive thing to see FOV angles (although angles could go even larger), cockpit view and no foliage nor water clipping into the car. Last, but not least, you can still destroy little Timmy’s snowman.
Haven’t found any negative (yet), except headlights are doing some funky lighting thing on track marks in the snow (like someone is crawling under the snow lol).
Great demo. Loved it. Lots of stuff to do. And we get a free t-shirt.
So I can’t even get past the “Turn 10 Studios” splash screen. 100% of the time it hard crashes back to desktop with no error message.
I tried disabling SLI, updating my drivers, lowering my resolution, disabling GeForce overlay, resetting the app. Nothing. I also have the recommended specs with a GTX 970, 16GB ram, i7-4790k etc.
Forza horizon 3 works in my system, I just launched it to see if I wasn’t going crazy.
shrugs
EDIT: So it doesn’t crash if I use my monitor’s built-in speakers, but if I use my headphones it crashes. [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] are you doing devs? I’ve spent 3 hours trying to get this to work [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D].
The demo won’t save progress? Do I really need to start from scratch every time I exit and run the game again? What a shame… game good though, not much improvements from FH3 except that it works on Win10 without issues so far (at least on my Windows, not sure about yours)
If I remember correctly … that’s how all Forza demos have run (no saved progress).
That’s generally how demos work
They dont save progree
I’m really impressed by the demo. I only could play FH3 at 1080/30 on medium settings and it didn’t look good. This time i can play at 1080/60 and it looks fantastic without frame drops and without stutter.
The ffb is also much better than FH3 and it’s nice to see finally FOV settings.
After testing the demo, i think i’m going to preorder FH4.
For me it runs perfectly fine.
1080p with DSR at 1440p constant 100FPS.

The only thing that annoyed me, apart from the post I made about the clutch, which in my opinion is huge, is that the game does not allow you to bind the keys like you want. I’m not a user of the rewind, in fact I hate this mechanic in racing games!
But I have to waste a button binding it to, so I could bind more useful things to that button. Same goes for ANNA. I NEVER used it and I never will probably!
Fun fact, changing gear (gear up or gear down) doesn’t have to be binded to a button…that makes totally sense, Kappa
All in all I feel the demo is great. The physics feel nice and the FOV slider is just awesome! I wish we had a vertical FOV slider aswell, I can imagine the Racing Trucks will be extremly hard to drive from 3rd person view.
Just tested the demo and got that same problem I already had in FH 3. The FPS are good but the streets like the ground textures just go away. I dont know why that’s happening and I couldnt find a reason on the internet. If anyone got an idea feel free to share with me!
I got:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE 3,8 GHz
12GB RAM
Game is on SSD installed
ASUS R9 290 4GB VRAM
Could you possibly run a benchmark and send a screenshot of the benchmark screen alongside with the details of the “ground textures going away.” Also, is your gamertag the same as that on the forums?
Having the same issue, I have a Dell XPS 15 9560 with i7-7700HQ, 16 GB RAM and GTX 1050 4GB. Apart of that, the game runs perfectly at 60 FPS, but on the “missing textures” the game freezes as hell.
Apex works just alright.
Cars seem heavier than the previous game to me. It’s mildly annoying that you can’t set a route to the festival.
You can seemingly only paint cars via Forzavista in the demo. I think it’s neat that tinting the windows on the McLaren also tints the door panel window thingies.
The Subaru’s street and race front bumpers seem to be switched.
The Ford Escort is the only car in the demo with a body kit.
It’s interesting that you can adjust the rear track width on the Charger. Also, it has a Vintage Race tire compound.
Game runs smoothly on my PC and is fun, I’m impressed. I play on wheel and force feedback is better than in FH3. What I’m missing though is some kind of artificial road feel which will simulate bumps on asphalt roads and will make riding on them more enjoyable, there is no problem with off-road tracks. It would be great if Turn10 can introduce some kind of slider with artificial road feel in FFB settings.
Very impressed with the game as I expected. Been playing on the Xbox One, so no fancy 4k or 60fps but the graphics still don’t disappoint. I was a bit worried that the game was going to force me to buy the One X but that doesn’t seem the case, I may decide to anyway.
The physics seem noticibly different, the Lancia 037 just sticks to whatever surface its on, its actually hard to drift. Even the Bugatti had loads of grip with traction control off, it had no problems putting the power down. I expected it to be a bit more tricky than it was.
A big thanks to Playground and Turn 10 please never stop what you’re doing
