I havent seen this posted anywhere but thought it would be cool to see what people think or where people want the next Horizon to take place in, if its not appropriate Mods can do as thy see fit if this post has been done already…anyways this is just what i was thinking,
England: not many racing games have taken place here recently aside from track races and i think that street courses here would be awesome and the country side is beautiful for on and off road races, not to mention historic monuments and the usual tourist attractions…
Australia: like England, not many racing games have taken place here, and with the outback and gorgeous cities like Sydney, Melbouurne and Brisbane as a few examples, i think this could be a great setting as well.
Japan: car culture here is huge, and with the country side and city street courses with extensive freeways, i think it would be awesome to have a completely new environment to race in outside of the US, not that an American setting is a bad thing but has been done so many times over…
Canada: With British Columbia as its setting, racing along the coastlines within the Rockies could be breath taking, just look at the tracks in Drive Club as an example, and the off road rally races have so much potential…
These are just some of my ideas off the top of my head, any one else have ideas or thoughts?
FH3 needs one thing…a very, very large map like The Crew. It has hours of fun and exploration without the need for the Career mode! I enjoyed FH1 & FH2 but TDU, TDU2 and The Crew have far bigger maps and more hours of exploration that is lacking in FH in my opinion.
Japan definitely. Extensive freeways, astounding cities, impeccable mountain driving. It’s definitely a very dynamic place. The map of course needs to be huge, mostly because Horizon 2, as far as lasting appeal, could have done better. It may be because I’m a drifter but that game would be everything I’ve ever wanted.
Ibiza, Spain would be nice basically a remastered map from TDU2! or Hawaii would be pretty nice. Even a better idea Stelvio Pass to Amalfi Coast would be perfect! the location is even used in TopGear. Google It!
Japan would be cool, so would the UK. Canadian Rockies would be really cool, I would be worried that it would be way to Rally heavy. US has been done, but may be the upper Midwest, Detroit area or Chicago. Somewhere like that.
Where ever it is located, I wish more than anything, that Playground Games and Turn 10 take the time to provide some new content. I would love to see more ability to build the cars we really want to build. Whether it be a pro touring car, pro street drag style, formula d, GT…whatever style we want. More in depth upgrade system with frame option, offset wheels, different suspension types…throw in some different, cool cars. Cars that havent made it to any game yet and should have. '23 and '32 Fords, '50s and '60s Chevy and Ford sedans, more than the '57 Chevy.
Maybe its just me. I just want to see Horizon 3 offer the variety and freedom that so many threads talk about on the forums. How cool would it be to have a game that had open world car shows and all different cars from Rat Rods to Lowriders to Protouring resto mods to purpose built drift, drag and road cars.
What has to happen is more than one location as Horizon 2 got boring really quickly due to the full map looking the same with the same lighting all over it.
The whole world, no a parking lot, Italy and France, I’m kidding.
Japan would be a good place, but a sweet place usually forgotten is Germany.
Somewhere in America would be great but as it was seen to many times in previous games (Driver, Midnight Club, Test Drive Unlimited…) and that the The Crew covers all we would ask for, it wouldn’t be the smartest location for a game to crash - Forza Horizon was there…
Otherwise, there are a lot of cool places in Canada, namely Ontario as well as Quebec, my personnal province (that explains my ordinary English). They both would offer unique weather systems everyone has wished for.
Although, seriously, all provinces at the East starting from Ontario would make an epic game.
It would be cool to me if wherever the game is set, there is a variety of landscapes. Have a big map that has Fujimi Kaido type mountain passes, good city streets like the old school NY, or Chicago tracks(Chicago might be a Gran Turismo track) and some good, wide open highways and country roads. I just think it would be cool to have all things available, as far as cars, setting, upgrades. I really want to have the freedom and individuality that cars and motorsport actually provide petrol heads of the world. I guess I just want it all, huh? If I had the means I’d make my own game,…or build my own actual real life cars!! Lol …but i don’t, so Turn 10, please build my fantasy racing game!!! Well, at least give a really good honest effort to read and listen to the forums.
I actually think it would be cool for the Horizon side of things to split into 2 games.
The first set in London being a more city based landscape with lots of monuments and points of interest. The focal point of this game would be underground racing based around imports, muscle cars and euro sedans and hatches.
The second being more of a TDU style of game set somewhere very beautiful such as Oahu with the focus more on blasting and exploring supercars, exotics and classics.
I’d actually argue it’s too late. They must have their landscape artists modelling or at the very least making a concept design of the map for the next game by now.
