If you read the Xbox live store details about the ultimate version, All the ultimate version is is the Forza Horizon 2 day one car pack version combined with the VIP membership as well the Car pass.
If you were to buy them all from Gamestop, it would be about or a little over $100.00… (as opposed to $89.99 +Tax for the digital only copy)
But, if you buy only the Car pass and the VIP membership from the Xbox store you can save $10.00 as you will notice that the VIP membership is only $9.99 instead of $19.99 at Gamestop.
So buy the VIP membership at the Xbox store for $9.99 as well as Car pass at the XBOX store (the car pass is $24.99 at the Xbox store as well as $24.99 at Gamestop)… (you save a few $ on tax)
and then buy the physical copy of the Day One version at Gamestop as they are both listed as $59.99).
This way, not only do you get the physical copy of the game, you save $10.00 plus tax on the DLC (VIP membership), plus, you also get all the extra DLC same as the Ultimate Version (for getting the VIP membership DLC, the car pass DLC from XBOX store, and Day one pack from the physical copy), AND… you also get the super-leggera bonus car for pre-ordering the Day One edition from Gamestop.
The VIP membership and the Car Pass are DLC anyway. so save yourself $10.00.
So I have a question? I want a physical disc, but I’d really like to order from Microsoft because I want the Audi RS4 Avant Bonus Car and I don’t want to wait to see if they possibly release it as a DLC later. Is the pre-order from the store link at the top of the page here for a digital copy, or can you get a physical one as well? Also, if it’s physical, will it be in my mailbox on launch day or several days later?
I preorder the ultimate edition the day of the demo it answer all my questions… Horizon will be my first digital game looking forward to not having to put the disc in! Won’t be long now!
Just pre-purchased the Ultimate Edition through the Xbox store. This will be my first AAA digital purchase. Looking forward to quick access to the game.
I came in looking for answers, and this thread did just that. Very helpful. I had Horizon on the 360 and for some reason my xbox wouldn’t read my disc anymore It was one of my favorite games of all time. So to circumvent that possibility I’m making this my first digital purchase. I’m glad it’s for such an awesome game!
Im wondering if the Ultimate Edition will grant us the Gallardo that Gamestop is giving away for their pre-order? I am a huge Lamborghini fan and will be let down for buying the ultimate edition and not being able to collect all the cars. If it is not available for the digital pre-order will it be available in the future?
Pre-order bonus car DLC is vendor specific and not included in digital download editions.
In past games, the pre-order bonus cars have been offered as a DLC pack months after release, but there’s no guarantee they’ll do that again this time, so it’s a gamble to wait.
I’m going all digital this year. I guess I will have to miss out on the lambo from gamestop. But, my question is about the other 3 cars they show in the ad. Anyone have more info on them?
Just started playing Ultimate edition and have a quick question: after VIP pack is installed, is there any indication for bonus points in SP races? Or there are no such bonus points with VIP?
Generally, I’m actually cool with Ultimate despite the price. I’m quite a fan of Forza and there is a lot of content coming and it’s easier to pay now than later for me.
