Hello, So I’ve been playing FH2 for a long time, and I noticed a sound glitch where the sound would freeze for around 0.5 to 1 seconds, and this was when the game first released. So I waited a while to see if it would be fixed in the next updates, and it seemed so, until recently. Now I get this glitch every 5 minutes, and it can get really annoying! I don’t know if its just me that gets this, but it should be fixed. Next time It happens, I’ll record it via game DVR and put a link to it, so you know exactly what happens. Thanks.
If you mean the rev hanging then no its not been fixed after all this time (and wont ever be fixed most likely) unfortunately. However getting an external hard drive seems to fix it
I have an external hard drive and it seems to happen less, but it still happens quite often. I think it depends on the car you are driving.
It is quite annoying to hear the audio lag. Sometimes it happens frequently like every 5 minutes. If it hasn’t been patched by now with all the updates they’ve released, it will never be fixed sadly.
Yea its the same with the freezing. Game-breaking bugs should be fixed but unfortunately we’ll have to live with it.
First, yes… it does seem to happen more with certain cars, and perhaps, to a degree, certain locales.
Second, buying an external may make it less noticeable, but it certainly won’t cure it. It’s like getting a faster external just for the sake of curing those occasional in-game stutters in FM5 (God, I hope they’re gone in FM6) - you will still get them one way or another, because of the way the game’s been coded.
I researched a number of threads on the stutter and audio bug issue in both games, and in most cases, an external will not cure it on a permanent basis, though make it less noticeable somewhat… but only slightly.
To make your games run smoothly at all times, I’d recommend:
- Clearing Alternate MAC address every other Xlive session
- Fully shutting down the console; i.e. keeping it on Energy Saving and after shutdown, disconnect or cut off power to the brick, so that the amber light goes off too
- Clearing Persistent Storage every time after a gaming session; sometimes, you have to do it 2 to 3 times, in case the first time gives you a 1-2 second lag
- When you reconnect or feed power to the power brick, make sure the while light turns to amber - then power up the console. This is a cold/fresh boot.
- Play your games first thing after booting up and make sure no processes/downloads/apps are running in the background
- Keep at least 40% of your HDD free to ensure optimal performance.
I hope this helps. Should keep your console and games running smoothly.
