All vehicles making odd rev noises [Engine hanging thread merged]

Well, kind of hard to explain but when ill be shifting, sometimes the audio will stick to a certain RPM (for half a second or so) even if I let go of the throttle or switch gears. No, its not because the shifting is stock or fully upgraded etc, there is something definitely wrong with the shifting/mechanics/audio. FM5 and previous Forza’s didn’t have this issue(I think). Anyone else experience this?? Side note, im using manual w/ no clutch, all other assists off and driving with a controller.

UPDATE: I made a video on Youtube to better explain this bug - YouTube notice when I shift from 4th to 5th, the action of the rev does not match the audio. Happens on just about every 6-12 shifts  Im currently re-installing the game to see if that’ll fix it.

I too am having this same issue, I’m using the same assists setup aswell (using TX 458), the gears hang when shifting sometimes.

Same problem here.

Same for me. Its not constantly but once in a while. Also driving manual no clutch with controller.

Must be another audio bug then

I have had this issue in every Forza since FM4. However it does seem a bit worse in FH2…

It has happened to me once that I’ve noticed so far.

Yea just bad audio clipping at times. Mostly when changing modes.

Same thing happens to me. Usually happens after setting a destination on the map.

I see this happen quite frequently. I grabbed a capture of it when it last happened and as far as I can tell it’s solely an audio issue. The tach kept rising/falling and everything functioned but the audio got stuck. When someone drives by rev it is very unsettling and it makes it hard to concentrate on driving.

It is very annoying, considering I use manual and listen to engine noise to determine my shifting.

Note to all rev lock sufferers. I have found that it only occurs while GPS route guidance is active. Not sure if that helps any of you.

Correction: It may be exaggerated by the GPS but it’s there regardless.

I played a good 2 hours today and everything was fine.

So, im not sure if this is just me…maybe its my controller, but ive noticed a strange occurrence when shifting gears manually. After shifting (no clutch just manual) the engine sort of “hangs” on the last gear. This doesnt just happen when shifting, also happens when im accelerating sometimes. The only time ive had something like this happen in real life is when ive duffed up a snap gear change and the engine sort of just matches revs in neutral. Im not using a clutch in game so maybe its an audio glitch? Anyone come across this?

I’ve noticed the same when I shift in manual. It takes a second or two to change gears after i actually click the button

Yeah its strange, ive tried to explain it the best I can, seems like you understand where im coming from though. Its a bit off putting in rivals where I think I could lose time due to the the gears “hanging” . Glad im not the only one, was about to take my xbox in for an oil change.

This has been happening to me too today. Quite frustrating lol

Yeah I know. the sound is off-putting. Once I get to know a car in game I dont look at the tacho, I go by engine sound. Its like " ok what the hell have I done wrong".

Same here. I run manual with clutch so it really throws me off as well. Especially when down shifting, braking for a corner to get set up. It is frustrating and it has caused me a few wrecks. I am sure that they will patch it. It is a new game, and these things happen.

I’ve heard this same thing from time to time… If I’m off and on the gas a lot like on a technical course it’s worse… Not sure what it is manual with clutch here…
