Every time I start an online race, the audio lags or freezes, forcing me to change gears visually using the tachometer.
It sounds like my engine is revving continuously for a few seconds.
This sometimes causes me to lose focus and put me at a disadvantage when starting.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue that I’ve been having for several months?
Yep, this is the same issue as the one linked below (right above this post of mine). It’s been happening since day one, has gotten lots of votes, but still not resolved.
Sounds similar, but for me, it’s absolutely independent of wheelspin.
Even if the wheels stop spinning and I accelerate smoothly, these sound errors persist for the first 2-6 seconds.
But anyways i have Voted for you but Since the problem, as I heard, has existed from the beginning, the developers can’t seem to fix it.
It’s obviously a problem in the audio output while the wheels are spinning and the engine sound smoothly transitioning from 1st to 2nd to 3rd e.g. but somewhere in there as the wheels are spinning and regaining traction, the engine sound completely cuts out.
It could be a physics based issue too - or both audio and physics engine.
They haven’t really sat down and analysed the issue properly in order to attempt rectifying it - if I had to take a guess.
Its nothing to do with wheels spinning, It will still do it if you sit on the start line with the clutch in reving the engine. You dont even have to be moving for it to happen.
