so i recently hopped back on forza after not playing for a while and my save was gone, I’ve put in numerous hours and i was just wondering if there’s any way i can get my save back.
I’ve recently contacted xbox to see if it was on there end but they said it wasn’t and sent me here so if anyone could help on how to resolve this problem it would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe a corrupted save? Depending on what kind of player you are and how avid you are about playing online if possible, starting a new save from scratch might be a good thing. Unless you have a 250 GTO or something of the like, it might be beneficial for you to start off a new one (I say that since you say even though the save file shows up in My Games & Apps when you start up Horizon 2 it starts from the beginning).
This honestly sounds like a cloud issue. Have you allowed your Xbox to sync the Horizon gamesave to the cloud? I’m assuming you’re on Xbox One.
yeah i’m on xbox one and i attempted to to sync to the cloud, it took way longer than usual so i let it go for around an hour, once it reached 100% it put me back to square one again.
That’s your problem, right there. Regardless of what everyone tells you to do and regardless of how “beneficial” the cloud is, never let it sync your data/gamesaves. That’s why you’re having the restarting issue. The only way to solve your problem is to select “delete everywhere” on your save from the My Games & Apps menu and start from scratch. After you do that, I’m telling you now: never allow your Xbox One to sync any data to the cloud. When you press ‘A’ on the Horizon 2 screen, if it says “syncing”, press ‘A’ to cancel. If a popup comes up and says your console save doesn’t match the one in the cloud, select “stop syncing” and move on. I can’t believe how many threads there are about everyone that has this issue because they all do the same thing wrong: they let their Xbox sync the data to the cloud.
