I’ve updated my spreadsheet at ManteoMax.com with the announced cars. Some notes:
Interesting that they spell out “Super Sport” instead of SS-396 etc. (I add “C3” etc to the Corvettes in my spreadsheet for sorting/ID purposes)
In previous Forza games we had the #55 livery Mazda 787B, but this is the first time we’ll have the #18 version.
In FH2 the Urus is a 2012 model.
First appearance in Forza for the BAC Mono.
In previous Forza games the Datsun 510 is a Nissan. Here it looks like they’ve listed it as a Datsun all by itself. This would be the first time Forza has Datsun as a manufacturer. If that holds, I wonder if more Datsuns will be added. Adam Carolla was recently profiled with Paul Newman’s racing Datsuns.
With this reveal I count 395 known models over 73 manufacturers, but that’s including the 21 livery and VIP DLC cars. If those are not in the 450 count, we have 76 cars to go and 7 manufacturers to be revealed.
I bet it’s down to licensing issues with F1/FIA/Codemasters. Since Microsoft is a sponsor, they probably are only allowed to have 1 current year car in the game and not have any fanfare surrounding it. At least that’s what I recall people theorizing when the E21 came to FM5.
Definitely a solid list this week. A lot of obvious returning cars, but as someone who stopped at FM4, I look forward to driving the new additions and Horizon carryovers alike. The Nissan IDx is a big surprise since that project has been shelved.
Also, T10 - I have to point out that it’s Marcos, not Marcus.
To be fair, they also said the #13 Polestar Volvo won the 2014 STCC championship in an earlier reveal, which was actually won by the #1 car, whilst the #13 never even saw the podium that year. T10 could do with a bit more fact and spell checking on these reveals it seems.
I’m absolutely loving the car list for this game. There more diversity than forza 4 for sure. I’m very impressed with this weeks reveal too. I love the 787b and I thought it was the best sounding car in Forza 5. I really like the 458 italia and I still think it’s one of the best looking car ever made and I’m very happy that modern F1 and V8 supercars are back. all in all a great reveal.
Car list is looking great now, the Lotus E23 has got me genuinely excited to play. Still hoping for some Super GT but other than that it’s a very strong list in my opinion.
While there wasnt anything crazy new announced this I think this has been one of my favorite weeks for returning cars
BAC has been long due Im will be honest and say Im surprised it wast DLC at some point in the precious two games That plus a wet nurburgring will be amazing
For returning cars the Daytona YES! it would be a crime not to include this so happy its back, 53 corvette yes, GSX yes, Fulvia while i have yet to try still yes, MG awesome and gald to see the 1992 celica back Rally fighter!?!?!?! Im speculating there will be a showcase featuring this the bowler and the ram runner at this rate. Only disappointment was it seems we wont be getting the charger hellcat and Pontiac 65 GTO as this would be the perfect week for them but there still about 2 or 3 to go and the list is still darn good.
Glad the Metro 6r4 is in, now where is the Peugeot 205 T16? The French manufacturers never get much love, delve into their history and there’s some really nice and famous cars. For me the 80s and early 90s were their best eras, with all the different turbod hatches and saloons each manufacturer produced.
I am also hoping next week will have a slight Japanese theme to it as i feel we need more turbo!
7 manufacturers left, huh? Not counting Porsche, and assuming RAM really has been folded into Dodge, I think that leaves us with six that were in FM5 and/or Horizon 2: Citroen, Holden, Kia, Noble, Robby Gordon, and Ruf. So now I’m itching to find out what the remaining one is… (fingers crossed for De Tomaso.)
F40, SRT4, IDx, 8V, 787B, Civic Type-R, Celica, Urus, Metro 6R4, Dart HEMI Super Stock, Mono, SRT Cherokee, and Falcon FG X are my highlights this week.
Not a bad list on the whole though. The American names kinda just all blend together for me when I see them in a list, though the Urus, Metro, E23 and 787B are of course all great to see.
Very surprised they’ve only revealed one V8 Supercar here. But it’s a start at least.
