FORZA DEVS, READ THIS: We are sick and tired of the lack of effort from the devs put into this game

I agree with you but there is no hate from my part, I’m just fed up of some things in the game but for some features I had no difficulty to put a 5

I feel compelled to inform you that Toyota is developing a hydrogen powered ICE. The only differences so far between it and a petrol powered ICE are the fuel tank (obviously the storage of hydrogen needs to be up to extremely high safety standards), the exhaust (water vapour), and because it’s a cleaner/more efficient burn, you get more torque than an equivalent petrol ICE.

The sound is also slightly different due to a different burn, but those who have tested it say they actually like it better due to it having a deeper growl.

The target market will be motorsports and enthusiasts. The ICE will be reduced worldwide, but I don’t think it’s going away. Between hydrogen and e-fuel solutions, I think it’ll stick around in some forms.

I sincerely hope it does. I’ve always felt a better option is to save the existing cars and keep them out of landfill and on the road. Obviously, that needs a better fuel system, but I still reckon it’s the thing to be looked at instead of electric as they are nowhere near where they need to be for range and cost - especially when the landfill issue is still there with batteries running out of use, costing a fortune to replace (on top of the extortionate cost of the car in the first place) and they still go to landfill. Not to mention the fact that the electricity still needs fossil fuels in the main to keep them running, and take an age to recharge for a few miles.
Save the ICE and stop the Ice Age.

As it has always been. The second half of a game’s lifespan is always worse. They have the newer inexperienced developers working on the old project where things can be screwed up and not be a big deal while putting forth their stars in the spotlight of the new and upcoming title.

Just like how EV technology is now it hasn’t been perfect and really hasn’t seen true real world use on a large scale. E fuel is great and all but the world needs to see it in action before believing it. Even hybrid solutions have been demonstrated in some of our favorite cars known to date but never caught on well.

I love how when we complain about the current game we always look ahead to the next and beg for Japan and tons of things that will never realistically happen. One day there will be no FH6 or FHX and that day might come sooner than you think. At this point why should they even make a new game when we know they will just recycle the same concept and put us on a different part of the globe with 10 new cars and a story/campaign we can complete within days.

Not entirely sure I agree with that. I started playing mid way through FH4 and that’s when they introduced Eliminator (which at the time was amazing) and they had apparently fixed most major bugs/issues. So although I didn’t play at launch I do feel this was the best time to play as it was very active and fairly stable.

In comparison to FH5, we are yet to get anything new that’s arguably any good. The number of bugs seems to be on the increase opposed to decrease. We still have major day 1 issues like broken leaderboards (which apparently are in the process of being fixed but appear a big old mess atm). They continue to release lackluster content in their major content updates like Ramis story and Donut Media.

Because Microsoft will pay them to do just that. Every year that passes there’s a whole new age group of gamers who have never experienced Forza Horizon or a open world car “racing” game like this. They can milk this cow for many years to come as long as Microsoft is willing to pay. And that’s all dependent on the success of game pass, which is currently underdelivering by their own targets but still generating revenue in the billions. Forza Horizon is arguably one of the few good games on game pass as well. It’s really hard for me to think there won’t be a FH6, 7 and 8.

I do give you that FH4 was well planned to make the game enjoyable while they worked on FH5 (look at what good that did) The eliminator was fun for what it was and then about 2-3 weeks later it got boring and a lot of people went back to cruising around enjoying the 8/10 sounds of FH4.

FH5 on the other hand has been awfully planned. They hyped up the game for MONTHS and then we got it and were massively disappointed when a lot of us realized they took FH4 and basically gave it a revamped UI, a new map, a little over 10 new cars, and other things we care little about.

Again I’m inclined to disagree. I played eliminator in FH4 religiously for months on end. I would play multiple hours a day stringing together back to back wins. If my memory serves me correctly, the first 3-6 months typically had full Eliminator lobbies with short queue times. The only exception was in the wee hours of the morning.

Well it’ll be at least 3 more years until contract re-negotiations if I’m correct as they rediscuss gamepass availability and other Microsoft related development options. Microsoft will ride the hype wagon to get people to buy gamepass making them more money by putting good titles and new content on their subscription.

Contract re-negotiations would happen now opposed to launch. In saying that neither you or I know what goes on behind the scenes. But obviously PGG would negotiate with Microsoft the budget and scope of FH6 well before design or development starts.

What I would be most interested in seeing is what kind of development quality we would see if Microsoft Studios and PGG split ways. T10 was never really the issue and we’ve known that since the Motorsport days. I will say the new consoles have everything screwed up as a lot of developers are caught in limbo trying to support the old consoles while making the game look good enough for 2023+. If China would churn out the new consoles faster to make prices fall getting more people on the newer consoles I bet support of the old consoles would diminish and we could start maxing out the capabilities of the new Series consoles giving us better game quality.

I was thinking it would be the other way around. PGG would do all the work and show off their kindergarten project to Microsoft and then Microsoft would tell them how much they would earn from gamepass and other forms of sale. I wish we would get more details about what goes on to keep the community up to speed with what we can expect in the future titles.

Microsoft are the cash cow and Turn10 are the brains. It would be a huge hit if PGG parted ways with either company. I don’t think this 3 way relationship will break, at least not any time soon, but if it did my guess would be PGG would discontinue Forza Horizon and focus on their other titles such as Fable.

But with budget and scope obviously those would be negotiated prior to development you are correct on that.

I’d say screw PGG and have T10, and Microsoft find someone else that can get better quality games out even if it costs a little more.

You could have a good guess. Microsoft sets their own targets for game pass such as number of game pass subscribers. To reach these targets they need to attract new subscribers, as well as retain existing subscribers.

When new games are added to game pass, Microsoft would see an increase in activity which they can correlate to a specific game. Moreover, Microsoft would be able to see how much time players spend playing a given game.

Ultimately it doesn’t matter whether a game is good or bad. What matters is how many players it attracts and retains. Hence why Forza Horizon has the concept of drip feeding content to players such as the weekly chorelist, monthly “content” updates, staged release of cars as well as 2 expansions. It’s all to keep you the player logging in and playing. This is also why every aspect of this game is about wasting your time, because the longer it takes to do something the longer you’re playing. The longer you’re playing the higher their gamepass user played metrics are. Which all basically equates to a bigger pay out from Microsoft.

I don’t know the answer to that. I do know I won’t be pre-ordering any ultimate edition to find out though. They got me two in a row based on the 1st three, not letting that happen again, again AND again. Two agains is enough. lol

I think you’re thinking of the Hydrogen fuel cell, which is different. It would use the same fuel systems as hydrogen fuel cell cars, but would be a full fat internal combustion engine, complete with gears.

They only passed proof of concept a few months ago. It’s still in the prototyping phase.

I can see hybrid e-fuel solutions catching on soon, just from the trickle down technologies from both Formula 1 and WRC. Both are now using hybrid power with e-fuel.

The only real issue I see that might prevent that is weight. Hybrid is heavy, and you can strip a lot out of a racecar that you can’t out of a daily driver.
