Forza and Hot Wheels, why?

I don’t know about this one. I think that it that the cars in that pack are “hot” and extremely desirable, with absolutely no relation with the toys.

If you think the grass is greener, you know what to do …

In many cases, the Hot Wheels company is given exact specifications for the cars they are reproducing. They know a thing or two about modelling cars to scale. They have access to manufacturers and long standing business relationships with them.

It can’t be a bad thing.

At least the Hot Wheels company is CAR related, unlike IGN which is a fictional website about gaming, made up with pixels on our computer screens. Oh yes, just like FM5 and all those depictions of pixels running around on pixels depicting tracks on our screens.

Sponsorship is good. Look at the University of Phoenix and the naming rights of the stadium in which the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League and the annual college Fiesta Bowl is played. Kind of ironic, but the “university” doesn’t actually have a campus, it is primarily online learning.

But they pay for the naming rights, and that’s a good thing again.

Are you inferring that Forza is a figment of our imaginations?! My life is a lie…

At this stage we don’t know if the deal means we get a 5% discount on Hot Wheels cars when we take our FM5 receipt to the toy store or if it means we will get 500 new dlc cars in Forza 5 for free.

Let’s wait to hear the announcements before judging it.

Dear OP, you realise that its a sponsorship thing right? i.e Hotwheels paid T10 money to be featured as this packs sponsor, like every single other pack in the history of Forza

There is more to it than that. It sounds like some sort of ongoing arrangement but we do not know what it will entail.

Hot Wheels aren’t only producers of small cheap toys for kids and big kids. For atleast the last 14 years they’ve been the exclusive producer of Ferrari 1:18 diecast models in price bracket of around USD70.00 to USD200.00. If you want models of any Ferrari road or race car including F1 produced in the that period then Hot Wheels is the only option and they’ve done some very nice stuff especially under the Hot Wheels Elite brand. Hot Wheels have done particularly nice models (on a bang for buck ratio) of modern Ferrari’s like the 599XX, FXX, 458, and F1’s from 2000 onwards plus they have a great range of classic Ferrari’s as well. They also have a great range of movie cars. I’d love to have the A-Team Van, Kitt, the Delorean Time Machine, or even the Ghost Busters car in Forza (ok, maybe not that much but it’d be fun to see). Is the GMC van suitable for painting into A-Team spec from this car pack?

The link up with Forza could extend to data supply for further development or it could simply be a branding exercise for HW. Who knows?

Maybe they have looked at Skylanders and said:

“Let’s release some Hot Wheels cars that come with a download code for the car in Forza 5.”

That is actually not a bad idea. Some of them have some great designs on them aswell. I made replicas of some of the HotWheels I own for Forza Horizon in the past and think about replicating them in Forza 5 again. Its a win/win situation in my opinion. HotWheels sells more collectibles and toy cars, and we get more cars to drive around in. Would be something like the R* Energy and Pizza Hut cars from the past games, only that this time they could be distributed worldwide.

Reminds me that some of my friends are still angry at me for going out an buying every single Nissan Hot Wheels car I could get my hands on.

My son likes hot wheels

I have a collection of Hot Wheels cars, all real-world. Yes, I hate their goofy nonsense “cars,” but I don’t buy those. I also have 1:18 scale Hot Wheels cars, all based on real cars, and they’re nice. I’m thirty-four with a wife with whom I’ve been with for thirteen years, and a daughter.

It would be quite cool if they partnered up on a fictional track or two, no loops or anything too crazy, but some extreme banking wouldn’t go amiss with a few of these cars we have now. Call it “The HotWheels Raceway”.

Why not release both the old and new versions of Monza? The old one had extreme banking.

I went and had a look at Brooklands a few years ago. A lot of the track was over grown but the clear bits you could see were ridiculously steep. Possibly a bit boring to race on…if they did a HW loop the loop with a speed booster though I would be right there.

I like this Idea! But, in regards to the loop; wouldn’t it be fun to have a few on a test track, just to mess around on?
To see which cars could make it and which ones fail. The kid in me wants it lol.
