Would you be interested in this, if it became a thing?

I understand the love for cars, and anything car related.

I honestly will buy stuff just because it is carbon fiber.

When I was a kid, dreamed of a day, where I could put my Hot Wheels cars, in a video game. Skip ahead 30 years, and The whole amiibo thing, is real. Ok so you are not really scanning the figures into your game, they are already on the disk, and/or udated via the internet. Putting this little plastic toy on the controller, sends information to your game, unlocking the character in the game.

So with the Rumors that have been in circulation, I rather skip to the punch, than wait.

So what if, Hot Wheels, and Forza were to team up, offering Hot wheels cars that scan into Forza. I personally think it would be a great way to play Forza, and to reach new customers for both brands. Offer the cars in car PACKS of 5, and you can pick them up at any store. Having a scanner module is pretty dumb, just allow the Kinect to scan the code, or include a simple XBstore code in the package.

I think it would be a great way to stir up excitement, vs. just buying the toys separately, and trying to track down a car that you liked in Forza and just wanting a simple die cast for your desk.

I know something like this would be possible, and might even be in the works. I just wanted to know if you would buy a 5 pack of Hot Wheels, for $13US knowing that you would get 5 cars to use in Forza 6, and maybe in Horizon 3.

Whilst I applaud your intention, i have to say that turning Forza Motorsport into Skylanders with wheels is about as bad an idea as they come. The idea itself could work but not within the confines of Forza.

I’ve been thinking of something like this for a while (when all my buddies got sucked into Skylanders). I’m not sure if I like it or not. The thing that scares me most is the secondary market - say one car or pack that’s “rare”, and then scalpers reselling them at nauseating markups on Ebay. As an option (perhaps to get the cars with an exclusive paint job), I wouldn’t be opposed, as long as the basic pack could be purchased like normal DLC.

Wouldn’t like it. You would have what the above poster mentioned plus the fact that Hot Wheels should not be involved in any kind of SIMULATION racing. It’s reputation as childish would ruin Forza. It would drag little kids into lobbies and before long Mattel would try to bring they’re Hot Wheels cars into the game. Last thing I need is to be rammed off of Road America by a kid in his “Deora 2.”

Or even worse:

A couple things here.

  1. You couldn’t just use any old Hot Wheels car. YOu need that special base on the cars like the Skylanders do.

  2. Your idea is a micro-transaction game in disguise of a $60 game (I’m sure the good cars wouldn’t come as cheap, which would make the game P2W).

The idea is cool though, I would love to collect cars to put on a shelf. There are just too many issues that are not fixable.

I agree with all of what you guys stated. As far as getting rammed off the road by FLUSH 2 WIN, it would need to stay genre appropriate. A stand alone Hot Wheels Forza, is could be in the works, and my guess is that they would utilize the skylanders/amiibo concept.

With everyone talking about what they want from a Collector’s edition, it seems the most popular idea, is a die-cast car. Do a little forward thinking. Why pay $20 for a die-cast car, a tin box, and a fancy cardboard sleeve? People are seriously ASKING for exclusive junk.

The fact that the game is already, E for Everyone, and that Kids already play Forza, because they have good parents, that understand the importance of learning something in a safe environment. Add in a FUN FACTOR, like going to Target or Walmart, and the kid spots another new car pack. When this kid gets home, Forza will likely be played. Not only does it teach the parents something about the kid, but it also teaches the kid about cars.

Add in the likelihood of Forzavista making its return, sans TOP GEAR TALENT (Though I think that any one of them would take the offer on voice acting), it can still be extremely informative.

Expanding the user base, is important. Rather than expand it by adding EASIER difficulty, and more assists, simply make it more palatable. I loved Hot Wheels as a kid, and still have most of them. Chances are good, that the one toy that most men will find from their childhood, is a Die Cast Car… and they will be able to have memories linked to it.

I still remember Riding my bike to the Mall, 20 miles away, across 6 lane highways, to play Street Fighter 2, Buy comic Books, and walk around the mall. I distinctly remember buying a Ferrari F-40 Hot Wheel car, because the engine bay opened.

I still have it.

I think the idea would get a more favourable response on a forum with a much lower age limit.

The idea is not without merit, but I feel it would be a better fit for a different racer.

Perhaps one which features Italian plumbers with magic powers.

Absolutely not…

Still missing the point.

It does not have to be Hot Wheels. If it were some sort of $50 Die-cast car, that includes a Code for the exclusive car, would you opt to pay for a QUALITY Die-cast, that includes a code for your game?

At $50, you are now combining 2 hobbies, and getting a reward out of both… kinda.

I have easily spent $100+ on a high quality Camaro and GT-500 each. They were already in Forza, so it was a good thought. The fact that I replicated them both, in the game, just brings me back to my point.

Having a tangible product, that combines two products that make sense to bundle. If I am not being clear, Car Packs with the Hot Wheels, are not exclusive to walking into the store and buying them, though Paint jobs could be. tie that in with having the Actual Forza Hot Wheels, would be a cool collectable… Priced aggressively, could easily broaden the player spectrum.

This is a good thing. Getting more people interested in Forza, means more diversity in both the community, and having a larger audience, could be the difference between having to pay for a License from Hyundai, or Hyundai sponsoring the game, as well as DLC.

If the LCE came with a SINGLE model of the cover car, that’s one thing (and an interesting idea). Turning Forza into Skylanders with tiresmoke is another. Forza games recieve dozens of DLC cars over the course of their run (FM4 had over 130).

Where the heck am I supposed to put all these toy/model cars? My apartment is small.

Also, Forza DLC is attractive because it’s fairly cheap. A 6-10 car pack which includes 6-10 “high-quality diecast models” wouldn’t be.

Just point out you could get a hot-wheely look to the cars in forza 2. Its the only version of the game wher the stock wheel diameter could be jacked right up. I used to make the cars look like hotwheels for my little.

There’s a Hot Wheels game for android phones/tablets, and you scan the QR codes from new Hot Wheels packets and they are added to your game or converted into credits if not available yet. Got my Lamborghini Veneno in game as we speak. lol
It’s called Hot Wheels Showdown if anyone’s interested.
I’ll just carry on turning my Hot Wheels cars into USB ‘Drives’ which is kinda going the other way. lol

The cars would not be exclusive to buying the Hot Wheels. Think of it this way, you are in the store, and with your love of cars, you find yourself in the toy aisle of the local store. there you see the big orange and white logo on the box of one of your favorite cars. Chances are you already bought the car pack that it is in, but you want that paint job that is on it. if you buy that Hot Wheels car, the code is in the box, and you get the car with that paintjob.

Given the marketability of Forza, and Hot Wheels, you could technically consider how perfect the Paintjobs would look on a Hot Wheel. Anything that is currently on peoples store front, could possibly end up on a Hot Wheels car.

Imagine having a Contest, where your paint job could end up on a run of Hot Wheels, that people can buy and use in a game when they get home.

Hot Wheels Sponsored Livery contest… sounds fantastic.

But as Mitchy said, Hot Wheels is already somewhat successful in doing something like this on their own. Why wait and let it die off as the Hot Wheels games already have. Mainstream it, give people the option to utilize another avenue, all while secretly making more money for licensing.

Hot Wheels Sponsored Livery contest… sounds meh.

Its biased towards fantasy painters, not to mention the livery codes. What’s the point in that, a painter would just replicate them anyway, not to mention that is what the community is for.
We are trying to be a racing simulator here, the game shouldn’t be further dumbed down with a kids toy tie-in. At this point I would just acknowledge that you are defending a sinking ship. You keep replying to your thread but its clear that nobody likes this.

I am not asking for it to be an option.

I am not defending it.

What I am defending is that nobody seems to understand what I am saying.

Painters that just replicate other people’s Paints? You mean thieves? There are thieves in Forza? That is a ridiculous notion.

The point is, it is COMPLETELY feasable, that this can and very well may happen. I am not asking for it to be A THING, I am trying to get the opinion from the group, whether or not, they would buy Forza branded Hot Wheels, or a similar product, that simply extends the brand.

I know that anyone reading this, is likely TOO HARDCORE, to play with toys, or even accidentally find themselves on check out with Hot Wheels in their basket.

As far as a sinking ship, no. This is definitely not a sinking ship. This ship, is definitely sailing beautifully. Whether or not you get on board, if the new captains take the helm, is your decision.

1.) It’s not a ridiculous notion, look at one of the reasons that we no longer have the auction house.

2.) By that logic anyone that has ever done a replica of a real livery is a thief because some designer thought of it first. Also think about it this way; I buy a HotWheels car, it has an exclusive livery designed for a contest. The livery is not available anywhere on the storefront and I need to buy this car to get the livery. I really like the livery so I buy the car, I come here on the forums and notice that lots of people also like the livery but for whatever reason they cannot buy the car. I replicate the livery from the car and share it so now everyone can have the livery. I get tons of downloads and make money, the people who download the livery don’t need to pay for the car. The system will crumble just like that and also screw over the guy who’s design it was originally.

If there’s money in it for the companies, it will probably be implemented at some point. Otherwise not.

Good to think outside the box mate, but “Forza Toys” just wont interest me. Would love variety though, but not the new captain.
