Forza 7 look stunning but what about an option @ lower rez for the one X with.....

well…just more visual goodness…?
I’m not sure about anyone else but I’d much prefer to see the lighting on my Xbox One X version take a step forward rather than just see an increase in resolution + textures.

I’m no developer but if dropping the resolution means;

  • better lighting
  • better replays with GT style quality
  • better rain on in car views (wind shield), currently I’m not sure if it’s a step back from Forza 6
  • more realistic shaders on vehicles exterior and/or interiors
  • better trees with better lighting/shadowing effects

then I’d more than willingly opt for a visual option allowing the decrease in resolution and increase in visual effects.

I don’t know what it is but on the one anyway, the game still sports that same less than real feel it’s had going on now since the first game made it’s way onto original xbox.

GT Sport is lacking in many ways, don’t get me wrong I’m not saying that sport is a better game, by no means, what I was hoping for with all of this POWER though…was a jump from the existing look and feel of Forza to something more akin in style to what Kazunori achieves with far less power. I’ve got to be honest when I say that more often than not Forza just doesn’t scream “realistic” in the visuals department.

If all I get after spending all that money on a new Xbox One X is Forza 7 @ 4K then I’m actually just OK with that…but I’d be supper excited If I got to choose a lower resolution game (between 1080p & 4K) and have more all round visual fidelity.

It takes a lot more work to add all these features than to just bump the resolution to 4K. With all the current issues they have, I don’t see any of these features being added in the future.

Yes I know but One can always dream…

Turn10’s marketing consists of three things, HDR, 4K, and 700+ cars. When you remove one of those they have to fire a third of their marketing team!

Well unfortunately true HDR is not for the average household. $$$…well at least not in Australia.

Affordable TV’s in Australia sporting HDR support do not do it justice and even on these cheaper sets where the brightness is in the acceptable range they more often than not fall short in “input lag” when HDR is enabled. Do they have 8 bit, 10bit, etc it’s all so convoluted.

So unless you got 4000 AUD + you might just be buying a higher rez TV that in all likelyhood(my case) will look worse than your current tv. I’ve got a 1080p panasonic plasma TV, no ghosting, no inout lag issues and dark inky blacks with above average shadow detail levels and great colour.

Why do I need a laggy lcd tv that supports HDR but doesn’t really meet the requirements for true HDR with a step backwards in lag… :frowning:

700 cars is nice but I’d prefer less if it meant getting a better looking game.

And with a 3m 1080p dlp projector…sitting only 4m away…High Definition images are still stunning. Why then 4K? Because we cant have HDR without it.

4k agenda might just be intefering with the true progress in gaming.

Im still hoping the xbox one x version silently releases with sub 4k rez option with better visuals or a patch down the track.

i support anything that gives the end user options.

other games have options for Quality vs Performance modes.
even on the little nintendo switch

These options are already present on the PC version in the guise of various detail settings.
Doesnt take a massive amount of work to find the best settings for a 1080p screen on XBX and fix them to an ingame toggle.

i myself wouldnt use it, as my x800d tv demands 4k hdr content.
but im not against others wanting options.

These are all great suggestions, but they will not “redo” the game just for the One X. Can you imagine how this will enrage the regular Xbox One fans? On the One X at least you will get what PC users are getting right now - everything AS IS with a boost in resolution plus HDR. PC users though do not get HDR from what I know.

Tomb Raiders getting the improved visual treatment and existing owners aren’t enraged over that game(at least Im not reading about it online?), if anything they tool it in their favour when they’re fanboy battling.

Imagine the amunition a game like forza would provide to them if it simply blew everything out of the water…visually.

I think it has more to do with turn 10 drip feeding visual improvements, otherwise pushing the envelope might result in little to no visual progression if games are to be released every 2 years.

If xbox one x is a mid generation release then they should push it to the edge - from the get go ! and blow the old console model of slow progression out of the water. Didn’t they say the oneX version of FM7 has 30 percent gpu to spare?

The PC version has HDR.
