Neither one made the cut in the first round of backwards compatibility games
Maybe next year, the recent games will make it.
Edit: I said recent, but Forza 4 came out in 2011. lol
According to the voting I saw Forza 4 and Horizon were well within the cut off for first migration to XB1. I did see a rumour that they were blocked as FM6 has so recently launched.
To be hinest kind of bummed no old forza games made the cut .-. hopefully in the next launch in december or thats when its rumored to be.

Yeah, it really sucks, all the COD type games got the go ahead. People really love that stuff.
I hope T10 or Microsoft makes Forza 4 available for X1 soon.
Please remember this is only the first batch of games that will be backward compatible. The Forza games may come eventually, but I think Phil Spencer cited that car and track licensing would make the Forza games tough to make backward compatible. I will not hold my breath on it.
Wait, does the One use 360 emulation or do the games themselves have to be converted to work with the One’s hardware? If it’s emulation then they have really no reason not to.
No, I believe the games don’t have to be converted to work on Xbox One, however the licencing for the Forza series, as with most games with licenced content, probably had a clause stating that it can only be used on 360. DiRT 3 got across because Codemasters have nothing else to do yet.
I finally got an xbox one when backwards compatibility was announced. I also want to play the older forza games on the xbox one… My goal was one console in the living room, move the 360 to the attick and maybe build a playseat setup. If you search for “forza backwards compatibility” you will find enough answers… i am not expecting to play any forza 360 games on the xbox one anymore. Especially with the sudden dissaperance of the F4 dlc a while ago.
All the info you find are saying the same… due to licensing issues there will be NO backwards compatibility… and that makes me sad because I love F4…
Same goes for games with marvel content, the COD series would also have licensing issues… In my opinion this will limit the games available for backwards compatibility hugly!
To what I figured out it’s up to the designing studio’s if they want to take the effort to relicense music/ car brands etc…
