Backward Compatibility

Personally, I think Forza Motorsport 4 still offers the best racing experience ever created on console. Three FM games have been released on the Xbox One, and in my opinion, all three of them have not been able to deliver the authenticity or features that FM 4 offered. So, I’m asking the community to rise up and make your voices heard. If you agree that it is time for Forza Motorsport 4 to become backward compatible, then please take the opportunity to say so in this forum.

Please make Forza Motorsport 4 backward compatible.

I agree, that it should be, but I think Kinect stops it.

You obviously missed THIS thread on this subject.

There are explanations of the issues involved with such a move and it is VERY unlikely to happen.

There’s no need to take a condescending tone with me. The fact of the matter, is the community wants the game to be backward compatible and it has not happened. I browsed all 5 pages of the thread you provided in your hotlink. It contains several posts, most of which date back to a couple of years ago. The only explanations for FM4 not being backward compatible are possible licensing issues and/or the game’s potential to hurt sales of the latest FM installments. Those are hoops, that apparently weren’t too difficult to jump through in consideration of Forza Horizon becoming backward compatible; which is especially interesting because of the soundtrack that the original FH contains. So, I’ll say it again:

Please make Forza Motorsport 4 backward compatible.

FH had not reached its end of life status jet when it became BC.

Licensing issues are the reason why the DLC for the older FM games are gone off the marketplace and probably why more Forza games aren’t on the Xbox One yet. Forza Horizon might be the exception because it’s the newest Forza on the 360 and the licenses weren’t expired yet.

I think the developers have their hands full at the moment anyway.

Phil Spencer said he hopes all 1st party titles would be backwards compatible some day.

Yeah, they really should bring this to bc, it’s not consumers problem if there’s licensing etc problems.

I BEG you, Microsoft. Please make this one bc. I was never able to play this game, always dreamed about it and I’m sure you can afford the licence fees. We will appreciate that. I would pay 60$ for this game with dlc, heck, maybe even more, just please make it compatible…

Step 1: buy Xbox 360.
Step 2: buy Forza 4.
Step 3: play game.
You can switch the order of step 1 and 2 if needed.

If everything in life could be this simple

LOL

You actually described the process I followed back in 2007 for Forza Motorsport 2.
I only added a further step 3. Buy an HD TV, which I bought two weeks before the Xbox, after convincing my wife that we needed to make a technological leap and bla bla …
In reality I only wanted to play FM2 at its best and after I got the TV I could unhide the console from the basement.

the reason why people dont want to buy a 360 is due to space or the fact that they dont want to just buy a 360 and just waste it for forza 4

Speak for yourself lol.

I bought the 360 (used) and the Limited Collector’s Edition (new sealed). The reason was purely to replay FM3, FM4 and play FH1.

Backward compatibility would be more than welcomed though, because with 4K and anti-aliasing this game would be even better. I might even buy One X purely because of that game.

I did the same thing, bought the 360, just for Forza.

I’ve just bought an used 360 for the same reason, after the one I had burned a couple years ago during a very hot summer.
I’ve only the bucket list to complete and I can’t wait for BC on my new One X (which I bought just for the bundle FM7+FH4)

It’s time to go back on track!

And they could also fix the clubs while making it backward compatible!

We can hope I guess.

If it came back with all features intact which it won’t because of the licensing issues more people would play 4 than 7. I don’t think they want that lol. They should just remake 4 and call it 8 and we would all be happy. Not sure why you guys got rid of your 360’s if you like Forza 4 that much. If you really want to play 4 that is the best option to buy a 360. They are like $70 refurb at Gamestop, the price of a game pretty much in the US. You can probably find them cheaper on ebay. You will be able to play Forza 1 (backwards compatible from original xbox but it doesn’t run very well) through Forza 4 on it as well as a bonus. I have no space and it managed to fit it in to my entertainment center. It isn’t that big a console or hey hook it up when you need to and put it away when you are not using it.

I would probably play 4 except I hate not using a wheel. Never used a pad even when I got my 1sr 360 and Forza 2. But since I have my TX on my wheelstand and switching to my Fanatec would be a PITA, it’s just not worth it to play 4. I still have my 360 hooked up but never seem to use it at all. In fact I bet it has been years since it has even been turned on.

I still have a long way to reach level 50 on my 360, and I pray to God it would be backwards compatible soon. It makes me want to get the taste of Forza 7 out of my mouth.

If Turn 10 doesn’t finally get back on track with Forza 8, then they absolutely need to make Forza 4 backward compatible.

I can understand the licensing issues if they wanted to start selling new digital copies for backward compatibility, but why would that effect the ability to make the game backward compatible on Xbox One for people to use their original game discs and play?

I wish that my 360 was still working.
