Backwards compatibility would most likely be considered a new version (or the alternative which is that the cars would have been licensed for use on a particular console). Either way it creates issues that are not able to be side stepped and are not worth paying to renew.
I personally would like to see FM4 backcompat because it is one of my favorites I spent at least a couple of months worth of play time on FM4 and I still haven’t completed it. I still have a 360 but I hardly ever get on it anymore because I’m always working and when I am home I’m on my One playing with my friends. Microsoft made FH1 backcompat. Why not FM4? It’s only a year older than FH1. They have original Xbox games that can now be played on the One even. Let’s bring FM4 over.
i thought there was an issue with dual disc games, probs why you can’t buy them digitally?

They overcame that a while ago and there are some multi disk games that are bc

hey eveyone I agree that all forza games I GOT Forza motorsport 1, 3, 4, 6 and horizon 1, 2 on 360 and three I HAD A XBOX 360 UNTIL IT DIED FRO. RED RING OF DEATH I MISS THE PLAYING THE OTHERS BUT IF FORZA HORIZON 1 IS BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE (released 2012 so why not FM4 was released in 2011 not even 12 months later if I got my dates right) so then in theory it should not be that had remember TURN THERE IS THIS INFAMOUS SAYING. " THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT" AND THAT HAPPENS TO BE US
if forza horizon can be backwards compatible and then enhanced For Xbox One X Then so should the others because those rules should be applied to all not to pick and like what people do with religions PS THAT LAST PART I WAS USING AS AN EXAMPLE WITH NO HARM OR ILINTENT APPLIED

when i upgraded to the xb1 years ago i kept my old 360 connected because i still play fm2 and fm3 from time to time. still have some achievements to complete on those titles. fm4 is already completed is no need for it on my terms.

Question for the #BringBackFM4 crowd; what specifically is it about that game that you want in order for it to be on your Backwards Compatibility wishlist?
If it’s something to do with features or game design, wouldn’t be better if those things are implemented into Forza Motorsport 7?

Why would i want to play either FM3/4 on the X1 with all of its technical issues? Menu lag, dodgy controller vibration, texture loading issues to name but a few. For FM7 Turn10 listened to the players and brought back a lot of content and features from FM4 knowing that it is the ‘holy grail’ amongst long time players.
They have subsequently junked some of the naff features that 7 launched with and fixed it the best they can. Then to get the long time playerbase back onside and re-establish their good reputation they are working on improving some of the core elements of the game which is a win-win. What we are left with is a decent game let down by an over emphasis on graphics, terrible user interface, insanely long loading times and an inability to multi task sufficiently well - a useful description of the console it runs on
The only way to truly bring back FM4 is for enough people to fire up their 360’s and make use of the fact that unlike say older GTurismo games the servers are still working on FM2/3/4. So for the moment the future of FM4 is in our hands - I just need a new contoller in mine because the third party ones don’t last long

I definitely agree with everything you said this game needs to come to backwards compatibility so far for so have been killing themselves hopefully they will finally stop killing himself and make this game backwards compatibility

Hate to burst the bubble here, this is tied with GT3 as my favourite racing game of all time, everything was done right and you could tell Turn10 actually cared about this one, but this won’t ever be backwards compatible for the same reason old FIFA’s, Madden’s, F1 games etc won’t.
It would send me over the moon to see a One-X enhanced version of this masterpiece - but I read somewhere, sorry can’t find the link, that their license for FM4 cars and tracks expired a long time ago. In fact, when FH was introduced to the BC list, it was just a few months short of running out on its license.
So unless they find a way to renew licenses for the cars and tracks in FM4, I don’t think it’s coming to the BC roster. I’m sure T10 would love to bring it as so many fans feel its the best FM ever made, but so much red tape involved.
Has anyone seen this? Hype, to infinity, and beyond.

While I will take a wait-n-see attitude on this it is great new if it is true. One thing that I will hope is that they do a better job with the FFB update than they did with Horizon 1. I would still be playing that on the OneX if the FFB on my TX wasn’t so bad. You get very weak FFB, much worse that it was on the 360 with my Fanatec wheel.
Xbox DVR also tweeted:
“So just an FYI, our system automatically pulls these in from time to time. But so far, every game with the exception of a rare few has gone backward compatible if it showed up in our database!”
If true, hope it’s X-enhanced!!
Considering that they did do a graphic update for Horizon, I don’t see why they wouldn’t for this, if it does indeed happen. But like I said above, I am more concerned about getting the FFB right than what it looks like.
What about licenses? M3 has around 500 cars and M4 probably more. It’s not possible to get licenses again. Or… ?
But some rumors are about Switch and Forza. Switch is old and slow so maybe licensing is covered together with the M4 port?
