Ford Mustang 1968 GT 2+2 Fastback interior modeling

After rummaging around on a couple of Ford/Mustang forums I used to frequent, I did find an answer.

Headrests were a new option in 1968 and not standard (not even on the deluxe interior). There is a separate door code for them. From what I could gather, a pretty rare option. The Bullitt mustangs (there were 2 used for the movie) weren’t optioned with the headrests, not that they were removed or anything. If anything, low back buckets with headrests that sit below the shoulders would be odd, and many people didn’t choose them as an add on. They were the same seats offered in the '68 Cougars as well. More information beyond what I posted would need a call to the “Marti Report” people to get a better idea on the total numbers.

Nice to see that i got vindicated in that response, Cars in the 60s were, compared to today’s cars, unsafe at any speed

I would go exactly that far, I had a '72 Monaco, and was rear ended by a Jeep SUV doing more than 50 when he hit me, destroyed the car and I was fine. Bent the car so bad the rear leaf springs were almost straight afterward.

Looking at his phone, never touched the brakes…

Sounds more like a combination of dumb luck and the fact that the SUV hit your car’s Crumple Zone, in a less favourable scenario, there’s a pretty good chance you’d be dead now

(And yes i do know that that is a late 50s car, most cars were still built like that Bel Air into the late 60s)

Crumple zone in 1972?..lmao. He hit me dead on from the rear.

Yeah, the trunk was the Crumple Zone in that case, if it was shorter, it probably wouldn’t have given as much protection as the long one

well guys thanks for clearing that up for me

Moving this out of the Troubleshooting Hub to Discussion, since the team doesn’t consider it a bug. One of the great things I’ve enjoyed about being a Forza community member all these years is after pouring over endless car lists, just when I think I know cars the community group expertise prompts me to learn something new about car models.

While the particular interior for this model isn’t something we’re likely to see for FH5, adding this type of detail in replies to the Car Voting models as a preference for future Forza games can help provide context for the car team:

Thanks for the insight!

Before this closes down I do want to know the reminder: Cars are modeled through source material. So if the Mustang T10/PG modeled particular didn’t have headrests (which is optional), then that’s the car we get.

Simple as that. Interior modeling is no easy task, especially more so with modern cars.
