For those that think THEY don't like the Ring..... (Mods, not what it sounds like)

My wife hates it much, much more and she doesn’t even play Forza. I was threatened with castr… lets just say my life, if “I didn’t stop playing that ( Mods would ban me for life and beyond if I even attempted to type a single word she said ) X Box racing game!!!”. Sooooooo, I stopped plaing for the night.

Very simple, just remind her: “Honey, you got that fancy shiny ring for our wedding, remember? Now just let me enjoy MY fancy shiny ring as well please”

There was a ton of belly aching going on here over the past 6 months about the Ring. I really felt like slapping a bunch of you in the back of head it was so bad.

Having said that, I can see why so many people wanted the Ring. Its fun, I mean really fun. Its super challenging for me since I’ve never seen it before, but it combines everything into one track that I like about this game. Haven’t run an actual race on it yet and I’m still wondering what that will be like given how tight the course is in some spots. I’m loving hotlapping it so far though. Just trying to learn the darn thing is ten times more fun than anything Turn 10 put in the career races and its not like LeMans where you can fall asleep from the boredom of the long straights. I like courses with lots and lots of turns, this thing does not disappoint…

this is how i felt as well

i am alrite on this because my GF was playing fable up stairs  so i was ok all nite

This track is different in so many ways than the previous. The vets are having to relearn too. There are a lot of places you can drive harder or now have to play with the gas more. The apexs and the banking on many corners is a lot different.

Basically its like oh yea I remember that corner. Then you go through the corner and come out completely confused because its just different.

Swerve is so right, this version of the track is way different that what I knew in a FM4. I was very confident on the old version of the ring and had hundreds of laps of practice. Now I find my self wondering where I’m at all the time, lol. This is a good thing though, the new laser scanned version is absolutely incredible.

I thought it was just me experiencing that or that I was tired because I was playing it late at night. There’s a lot of turns I find myself going in too hot and eating some grass and/or wall.

no one said its gonna be easy! Be ready to defend your mens rights! Thats your ultimate chance to become the forza forum HERO, a role model for everyone who suffers from the same oppression!

are you going to broadcast the conversation via twitch? but let me get some popcorn first…

I would have looked at her like she’s crazy. My wife knows better than to tell me to get off my game console. I’ve been gaming since 1985 and not stopping. Nobody tells me what to do in my house.

I had an ex-girlfriend who didn’t like how much I gamed back in the day. Hence she is my ex, dumped her tail.

Every time I hear a female voice in the background when in lobbies they always sound annoyed. No matter the language you can always tell the gist of what’s being said. I’ve tried getting the GF involved and interested but she can’t drive a real life car at road speed. She is a pretty good artist so perhaps I should try her at painting now that I think of it. That would probably mean a second box and monitor though or it would never be my turn.

you gotta get yourself some silent treatment. go buy her a present a size too small then go buy her some diet candy . you should get atleast a week of sleeping on the couch, where you can play forza.

looks like its not the first time you are dealing with such a delicate situation. Its a smart approach, i have to confess, but the crux of the matter is that he actually has to survive this encounter unharmed. You cant drive the ring with broken fingers!

go the other way then. tell her it’s the “ring” so you have to do it as a symbol of your love, its what any good husband has to do. if you were lucky enough to marry a bimbo you are home free, if not you play the bimbo and fail to grasp the concept that its not the greatest show of love on the planet. maybe she’ll humor you since your heart is in the right place if you play stupid well enough.

or go on yelp and check out the spa reviews. find the one where they make you wait the longest to start what ever treatment and get her a day at the spa. she’ll be gone all day and she cant gripe because you were just trying to do something nice. and be sure to make it a surprise present so she dosn’t have time to come up with a chore list for while she’s gone. counter with she said she wanted spontaneity or something. if she says you’re cheap all the time tell her a coupon was about to expire. just find a way to claim you did it because she told you too, that you did it for her. its always better if you can get them to think it was their idea, that you thought they were hinting or something.

Folks, relax. It will be 27 years of marriage next October, and all the Xbox stuff was settled many years ago when I tested LIVE before the launch. I let her play Re-Volt a little while, and she had a blast - but her hands got tired.

Then in FM2, where I used our 55-inch HDTV in the living room, she had taken our three girls out shopping and returned in the middle of a race.

They came home while I was watching a replay on the 'Ring. She said, “What are you doing?” because I didn’t have either a controller or wheel nearby, and I said, “Quiet please. I’m testing the eye-head controls.” And knowing how I’d run the track, I could “brake” by leaning back or “accelerate” by leaning forward, and turn by leaning from side-to-side.

They’ve since left me alone.

(Oh yes, nearly forgot: Two years ago for our 25th anniversary, my wife decided we would go to Las Vegas. She had a show picked she wanted to see, and didn’t mention the limo picking us up at the hotel and going to the race track so I could drive the latest Porsche around the track.)

well the last track was a short track being Long Beach, so this time its a nice long track and before that RA was a regular size track, so i think the DLC for tracks so far have been quite good for catering for everyones taste.

i dont understand the whole i need this track or the love for it. in all of the forza games i have maybe done 40-50 laps total on this track. to me its just a really long rather boring lap. and if you mess up a corner early on…its 10 minutes of dayum!!! until you get back around for another lap.

to each their own, but there are a lot of other tracks I personally would rather see in the game that are a lot more fun to me. (Tskuba)

its nice that its been added but i dont really care. the cars they added however look like a lot of fun to paint. and to drive??? im not that good at that regardless

good deal for those of you who wanted it and got it.

I guess I am just lucky my wife is too busy playing Candy Crush to even notice if I am on my Xbox or not.

These people hate the ring too…

But seriously…I get why you all were so animate about this track. What a beast!

You need a gaming wife… or remind her that instead of playing video games, you could always do what other husbands do and go off to the bar, or pub, or what ever. Would she rather have you there, where she knows what you’re up to, or off spending loads of money and getting drunk?
