Just wondering why it’s a good idea to put a 2.8gb update in the game that has put the worlds most famous toll road back into the game.
Just I case you don’t understand sarcasm. “I HATE THE RING”. Why could they have not developed some REAL racing circuits were real races happen. Rather than this glorified toll road to no where. That basically only host one “race!”. That isn’t even a sanctioned FIA event. This place has been closed to real racing for years as it is such a poor venue.
Thanks
Hyde…
Feel free to get your flame thrower’s out. Happy to debate the merits of a toll road in the game…
P.S. I have a laser scan of the M6 Birmingham bypass toll road. If you would like a copy so we can get that into the game too
Obviously you haven’t browsed the FM5 track wishlist thread. You would have gotten your answer there.
Personally I think this is what FM5 needed the most. A track that you can test your self to the max. Its the ultimate test track. It’s narrow and not a great for racing, but it will be killer for Rivals.
Don’t forget that you do get a race track as well with the GP track, so it’s a win for everyone.
For me I’m glad seeing it make a comeback it didn’t feel right to the franchise with not having it when it’s been in every other game with the exception of Horizon
It’s not my favorite but the people were nuts for it so it belongs. I do love the GP course so that will be fun in lobbies. The big monster is a 16 mile no passing zone so for me it’s only fun in rivals or collision less racing.
I understand there is no pleasing everyone, but there are better tracks around the world that could have been a better choice. Imola, Monza, Brands Hatch to name a few. We could’ve got three maybe four tracks for time spent on “The Ring”. The track is too narrow to race on, so probally won’t be online to play because everyone and the brother will want to run it. I don’t want to have to drop every lobby because that track is picked. I will say I do like the fact the GP course is back, I do love it.
You don’t get it, do you? If Turn 10 puts Imola in, instead, someone posts a thread asking why Nurburgring wasn’t added. If Brands Hatch is added, someone creates a thread asking where Monza is. If a track that loops around a mountain is released, someone gripes that a track in some obscure valley has been overlooked.
You are exactly right Shadow T10 will never win with everyone but they are trying their best to please a lot of us. I’m not a massive fan of the ring (I suck at it lol) but it is an awesomely massive track and I will most definitely spend a fair amount of time trying to conquer it. I for one am happy with just about all new content added especially when it is free.
I’m confused. If there are such things as “real” racing circuits, then there must be some fake ones. What is a fake racing circuit?
So, the Monaco GP is also held at a “fake” racing circuit? So drivers like Senna, who dominated at that course, were competing on a “fake” circuit?
I don’t understand what you mean by real, because I don’t understand what makes a track a fake. Can you explain, please?
Also, there isn’t just “one race” as you say. As many members on these forums know, I’ve been competing around the 'Ring for a while. There organization that runs the show only has one event, but races fall under all kinds of different categories and classes. They do this to minimize the cost, because funding has been a big issue for a while. And then, of course, there’s the famous 24H Race, which I took part in last year.
If you don’t like the 'Ring, and I’m strictly speaking of the Nordschliefe and not the GP course, then that is fine. In fact, even drivers like Sir Jackie Stewart and N. Lauda despised the 'Ring, despite being some of the quickest racers to ever lap the track. What I don’t understand is why you have to insult it, as if the track has feelings. Said by many, if not most, it is the most gruesome circuit in the world, and by saying that it’s not a “real” circuit, it is kind of insulting to all of those who have competed on such a demanding course, including myself.
Don’t mean to argue as much as I mean to enlighten. Just wanted you to see the track differently. If you don’t like it, fine by me.
Haha, not really. I was frightened as hell when I raced at night for the first time. It was a couple of years ago (I wasn’t qualified for the 24H, yet) and it wasn’t too late into the day, but it was really dark. That was very exciting! I remember, last year during the full 24H, I used to take deep breathes going down the straight start/finish line of the GP course, and when entering the Norsdschliefe, because I otherwise couldn’t recall breathing. People hate the 'Ring for all of the wrong reasons. As I mentioned before, Niki and Jackie didn’t like it because it wasn’t safe, despite being some of the fastest guys around the course. They criticized it’s level of safety, not its merit, which most people who have never even stepped foot onto the circuit are doing.
my friends will be quick to affirm what I say next, I’m no fan of the Ring overall, as I do quite terrible on it. I’ve maybe gotten 1 good clean lap on it ever? (at speed anyway) But that said, I am happy it is in Forza 5, not just so the people who every month on facebook cry and cry and cry where’s the ring, where’s the ring, ect. ect. will finally be able to be silent, but because I know my friends will have a grand time on it, and battling each other in rivals. I’m also happy for it, because this is the best booster pack yet. So it brought me some great stuff, my friends great stuff, and it brought forth the behemoth! I can try it out and see how terrible I do at it too!
It’s a win/win for (mostly) everyone. I say mostly, because I do know there are some who aren’t happy. And, I just never throw everyone into one category, that’s just not playing fair doing that.
I understand “everyone” wanted it. I think its too long to do lobby racing on. Rivals and Time Attack is fine. Like I said earlier the track is too narrow to race. You always have guys trying to win the race in the first corner and ruins yours. And once you’re wrecked there, there is no catching up. I also understand it didn’t matter what track was added, someone would complain that “this” track or “that” track wasn’t added. I have my opinion about this as I stated earlier. Yes I’ll download it, yes I’ll race it, but I don’t have to be happy about it. It was the same when they added Road America and Long Beach, some people loved it and some hated it. We’ll see if FM6 has more tracks that people want because there will always be that one track that doesn’t get added. i did sent in my wish list for tracks and cars.
I think T10 did an amazing job with the ring, and it is a blast to drive.
That being said, they were basically forced to considering the out cry demanding it. However I feel that the time and effort to put the ring in could have been waaaay better spent. Consider the 16 miles of laser scanned track. 16 MILES! we could have had 5 more tracks for the same amount of effort.
It’s a fun to hotlap but I’m not looking forward to getting it in the hoppers. For those that love the ring do you think it’s worth 5 tracks?
