You’re not alone, Mark—I’m not usually a fan of “street courses” like Rio or New York, but the old long layout of New York was surprisingly fun to race on, for me, from time to time. The short courses were less enjoyable, but I think were included in more installments of the franchise than the long course…a shame.
On the other hand, I sort of enjoy running in the Alps, Camino Viejo, Maple Valley… Even Rio and Prague, occasionally. I like having a wide variety of tracks, including some that won’t be well-liked by some.
Ideally, to me, we’d get most of the famous tracks from Formula 1. Including some old ones, like Monza with the oval. Even Yas Marina and COTA, and I do not really like those tracks.
I’m overjoyed to hear Suzuka and Mugello are returning, but maybe I do have to just keep dreaming for now about some other tracks.
Yeah I’d hope for a few more still and not removing any. They added more like 14 with 6, but that was after 5 severely gutted the listing from previous games. Hopefully they go public on more soon!
I like real-world tracks because they’re real, but at the same time being real doesn’t always make a track good. There’s real-world tracks that are just dull. I actually like the fictional tracks, except the old Sidewinder test track, which wasn’t much to look at and felt like a kid scribbled on a napkin with a crayon and someone made that scribble into a track. Sunset Peninsula was better than any real roval that I’ve seen, including Daytona and Indianapolis.
I’m fiending for fujimi to return in this one, that would be so great!
positano would be nice too, always liked it.
Can’t wait to drive the nurburgring again, that one has to be in
btw bernese alps was never fun. It’s like the polar opposite of an actual mountain road in the alps. Which would be a lot of fun. If there was one in the game.
It’s a real shame we have lost tracks like this, but I think from now on we wont see it happen very much. Older tracks used pre-baked lighting and shadows, meaning everything would have to be redone for the next game=alot of work. Now that we have dynamic time of day this shouldn’t be an issue going foreward anymore, as long as the track mesh is good quality and textures are good the tracks should be future proof.
quote=Dadiodude;734067]Distance is important. The eye detects most detail at 60 degrees so the smaller the screen the closer you would need to be. Apparently 80% of us would se some difference in image quality up to 7K but nothing beyond that.
Still, I’m old enough to remember getting excited about 1024 X 768 so it’s all good.

I remember getting excited about 16 colour graphics.
Real world tracks and fantasy tracks. Hyper cars and racing cars and unusual cars such as SUV and Isetta.
I have seen this conflict many times in the forum, but I’m fed up with the opinion saying “I hate it, please delete it”.
Likes and dislikes is located to anyone. It is free that you dislike it.
But, please do not forget that there is a person liking the thing which you dislike.
Pushing the 4K a bit aren’t they. There’s no point to 4K on a monitor thats under 50 inches anyway. How many people honestly play games on a 50inch or bigger monitor and sit far away enough to get the benefit?
