FM7 has got no motorsport in it as far as i can see. Sure it has racing cars and racing tracks. So for me its a racing game and not a motorsport game. #ChangeMyMind

It’s not indeed, but that’s not really controversial lol. Any other racing game that is not completely arcade like The Crew or NFS is way more “motorsport” than this.
Even Forza Horizon is more motorsport, at least the gap between cars is measured by time there. Online race events use points system. Now that I think about it, it’s quite sad actually.

All it takes to qualify as a Motorsport is an engine/motor and some form of competition, tractor pulling is even a Motorsport.

Senor CrapPants to have “some form of competition” what do you need besides a motor/engine?
Racing game, motorsport game, car enthusiast game, sitting on a toilet game, you name it, people can call this game whatever they want to call it, like how you think FM7 is a racing game. I don’t understand how getting people to change your mind about this topic is a relevant thing.

Recognised levels of compentency.

Then that’s your definition of sport. Someone else’s definition of “motorsport” or “sport” might just be more simplistic than that, such as simply racing a few cars around a circuit for enjoyment, time attack for enjoyment, or even drift days where you pay $50 to do laps with other drivers, or drag meets where you pay $50 to blast down the quarter mile for fun. Even with the word “sport”, people don’t always play sport to compete, people play sports for fun and enjoyment, and sometimes rules are thrown out the window.
No one needs to change your mind about anything. If you don’t think FM7 is a motorsport game, then there’s nothing wrong with that. If someone else thinks FM7 is a motorsport game, then there’s nothing wrong with that as well.

Depends on the definition i guess, “senor crappants” (really?) definition is very broad, where i would like to be more um… defined.
I would say a “Motorsport” title is one that attempts to simulate real world Motorsport/s as it’s primary focus, to best of its ability with the technology available at the time.
I would also say the Forza Motorsport could be defined as a Motorsport game unitl FM4 (Xbox 360), but has since chosen not to expand Motorsport & Racing content like GT, Project cars, Assetto, has (Physics, Framerate, Tyre models, Wheel support, Dynamic Weather, Race Strategy & Pit Stops, etc).
Instead current Forza titles (Xbox one) are primarily about the cars themselves (4K HDR, Car Collection, Car culture, Customization, Paint, Photos, etc) with the Motorsport as a theme only (secondary).
This is where Turn10 believe the Marketshare ($$$) is, hopefully with the success of Horizon in that department, Motorsport can return to Motorsport as its primary focus… Please.
