FM7 aero (it's different)

Hi, I am obsessed with aero and in FM7 it has changed, well the balance point has, I will post later when I know enough to post but it is different and I have been testing for weeks getting closer to an answer.

edit

Now I got more data I can post a rough base point.

Aero and maybe more things are based off the cars weight % (front)

Here is my results (that can get better over time)

Sorry but no. It is exactly the same as FM6.

no I been testing it, it was way different. Aero works the same and same pi and same downforce and drag but the balance is different say with a car that is 50-50 weight.

@ uber - so, you are saying that in comparison to your FM5 results, which indicated a balance at around 53% (or so), on FM7 is actually closer to 50/50? I have been wondering why the cars feel a lot better “ou of the shoot (or garage)” sort of speak!!

Note: And, posted in FM6 Tuner’s Garage
.

its more like 47% in FM7.

That’s what I’m saying. It was around 47% also in FM6. Look into my F6 tuning guide.

I updated 1st post.

Feels to me that since FM5, Turn10 has gradually been dialing in more understeer across the board to the cars.

It could just be me but I find that I am having to dial in more rear bar than I did before to get the car to rotate in a turn. Makes sense. More understeer makes the cars easier to drive.

Add more for building

if stock has a rear wing
40-52% both wings

53-64% only put front wing

if stock has no rear wing
40-53% both wings

54%+ only put front wing

if have both options
40-52% both wings
53-59 %, front wing, stock rear wing
60+%, front wong, no rear wing

This thread is blowing my mind. What does all this mean in plain language?

I stopped putting aero on my cars entirely. It seems annoyingly slow. Muscle car. RWD. No aero. Good times.

Thanks guys!

I found a better way of testing this and I will soon put up a more exact result for this. The more exact results are the 2 above posts.

I also did the same for the diff decel and posted it.
