FM6: Not that buggy

Hey all, been off the forums for a bit.

I must say, Forza 6 ain’t that buggy, not by a long shot. I’ve been playing Fallout 4.

GAWD, what a mess. Fun game, yes, but bugs & glitches are practically a core game mechanic. My adventures in Radioactive Boston really put things in perspective

FM6 is damn near perfect by comparison. Paint glitches aren’t such a big deal once you’ve watched your dog fall through a solid concrete foundation.

Speaking of FO4, any word on the Chryslus Rocket 69 in FM6?

True, You’ll never see anything like this in forza:

Check the skeleton. I’m sure there’s a note that says another settlement needs your help. Here are the coordinates to mark on your map.

hahaha lmao xD

Ye Godz, what happened to Preston there?

LOL

Compared to games like Project Cars which is still riddled with bugs like this, Forza is one of the best games on the market in terms of lack of bugs.

This happens every time Todd Howard drives a car.

I have project cars on PS4 and haven’t had any issues like this.

Same here…as I said in another post…PCARS update 8.0 has really made that game quite enjoyable, at least on the PS4.

FM6 is super glitchy, you just have to play it more frequently. Last week I thought FM6 was finally good to go, but within the past 2-3 days leagues have gone bonkers, cars are oversteering again, and the game’s rendering can be jumpy at times.

I also noticed a new glitch in leagues that you can read more about in my FM6 Support thread here: http://forums.forza.net/turn10_postsm456388_Weird-glitch-in-leagues--unlisted-players-multiple-laps-ahead--ending-races-early.aspx

I’ve been playing Forza games since FM2. I have thousands of hours logged over 7 games. I never said FM6 has NO bugs, I said it’s very good compared to some others (Fallout 4 in this case).

You never seem to have anything positive to say, Xist. You just argue with those that do. If you hate the game so much, why are you here?

Not arguing, just tired of paying good money for products that have issues, which go unfixed.

I have played hundreds of different games across multiple platforms for years now. Some developers fix their games and some don’t, which is my point. For example, the Battlefield developers listen to their fans very closely and engage them heavily. They have literally fixed almost everything people brought up, but T10 (this is my first Forza, mind you) seems to have a history of blowing over glitches, including in FM6. All I’m saying is FM6 is a product like any other commodity and that product needs to be complete and work properly, so if it isn’t, T10 is obligated to fix it as they took payment for a working product. The game is cool when it works, but it’s full of problems that ruin the experience and when the developers continue to release pay-for-DLC while the problems go unfixed, it upsets the fanbase. In the Battlefield games, free stuff is constantly released to people on top of pay-for-DLC, so it balances. I literally just got another free BF4 Gold Pack from the dev team a few days ago, on top of like 40 over the past two years, plus they send out free stuff for Hardline every couple of weeks/months, and all I did was purchase the base games.

I, as well as others, are just upset at the low level of care T10 provides after we have spent so much money on this game. I pre-ordered this game with some extras, so the tons of glitches and exclusive unicorns is annoying. T10 just seems to favor the people that will accept anything they make, even a broken game.

I do lots of positives for this game, so that is a moot point; I have tons of tunes and designs in the FM6 market and I usually post new ones every single day, so that other people can enjoy the game at the highest level. I would like to see T10 be as dedicated to this game as its fanbase is. I literally spend hours on top of hours tuning and re-tuning builds to prevent the broken game mechanics and glitches from ruining the driving experience for people who aren’t good at tuning or don’t know how to. There are dozens of threads where players are begging for tunes so that they can enjoy the game because the base models/game itself doesn’t play well.

You might be happy with a game that has some big glitches, but I am not. You can’t say “well it’s good because it has less problems than previous versions” because every product should work well. That would be like saying “well the 2014 Ford had 4 wheels that fell off…the 2016 only has two that fall off, so the 2016 is perfect because it’s not as bad,” when in reality both are unacceptable. I personally know computer engineers in real life, one who studied artificial intelligence engineering, specifically, and the types of glitches FM6 experiences are easy to fix compared to that kind of computer work, so when they go unfixed for multiple generations of this game, it is inexcusable.

Always amazes me when people call into question the handling of the cars in their stock form. The issues the majority have with driving them, stem from poor driving practices in the game the majority of the time. These poor driving practices result in understeer, oversteer, or a combination of both while trying to correct either/or. The same things with regards to handling get talked about in every iteration of the game, but this is not just an issue with regards to Forza. It is also an issue with other simulation based racing games. I have personally seen the same discussions regarding handling of the cars for Gran Turismo, Pcars, Assetto Corsa, iRacing, Rfactor, F1 (20xx). And it is the same story every time, in that a competent driver will be able to get the cars around the tracks with minimal to no drama at all.

The real problem with regards to handling in a racing game is just that, people treat it like a game. They show little to no respect to the cars they are driving, they push them way harder than they would in real life, and they have no fear of the outcome for a bad decision or action. But if people slow down, learn their braking points, learn to be smooth and precise with the inputs they make; the vast majority of handling issues will melt away.

I don’t just come to reply baring a few words however, I also have my youtube channel that shows what really happens with cars in their stock form.

Well, you never know what’ll happen when you feed a thought into the ol’ inter-tube-webs. Thanks, you-all, for the threadage.

Xist, you seem legit and knowlegable, and no doubt you’re a helluva driver. Also your gamerpic resembles Saul Hudson. You just gotta lose the attitude, mate. Lighten up a little, no one’s out to get you here. It’s easy to “misread” a post and assume someone’s “bragging” or otherwise antagonizing you, instead assume the opposite, because they’re not doing those things.

At least, I’m not.

Anyways, THIS should be REQUIRED READING for every Forza player. Maybe print it on the cover, in like 17 languages.

Bloody well said, Lalyrn.

edit: removed links to make quote smaller, I hope u understand

I learned to drive on an old powerful car with a beast of a V8 and this car was known to not be the best handling vehicle, and you know what? It never drove like the cars in this game does. I have driven old, classic RWD cars with V8 muscle engines, BMWs, Asian import FWD cars, been in drift cars, etc. None of them handle like their counterparts in the game and I have never driven a car in real life that had the amount of under/oversteer the cars in this game do and I have A LOT of experience driving on winding country roads with all sorts of cars…none handled like cars in FM6. Almost every car in FM6 oversteers tuned, or not. After the second update, understeer became the main issue, but now we’re back to oversteer. Even race tires in this game slide like they’re on ice.

I have built some awesome tunes that people love, but I shouldn’t have to tune as much as I did to get the car to not slide and do 1080s on their own.

If that is aimed at me (not sure because you quoted Speed demon, but they never mentioned any other games, where as I did), then are you seriously saying that iRacing and Assetto Corsa are not sims? Assetto Corsa alone is considered as one of the best simulation racing games of recent times for its physics. And is very much marketed as a “Racing Simulator”

http://www.assettocorsa.net/en/

Not to mention that iRacing is one of the most well know racing sims in the world. It is a sim that has spawned the creation of hundreds of virtual racing teams that compete in real championships. Just look up the likes of “team redline”

Oh right, so I am not serious about my games because I disagree with you? I own hundreds of racing games spanning 3 decades, and I have played even more than that. Hell, I even own 2 separate racing wheels, one to use on my PC, and one to use on my Xbox one. Both have 3 pedals, 900° of rotation, and a H-Gated shifter. I even use a gaming monitor for both PC and Xbox gaming as opposed to a TV. Trust me when I say I am serious about my racing games, and games in general.

Look, I am only talking about the handling aspects here. Something which I feel is not as wrong as you believe it is. I have backed up what I have said with footage I have recorded myself of my own laps. The vast majority of those cars in my videos where complained about as having excessive oversteer, and this is going right back to the day of release. Check the dates on the videos!

The handling alone is directly effected by the way we make our inputs, and if you are using a control pad, then you have vastly reduced amounts of movement compared to a real car. Less reduced amounts when using a wheel, but still not the same as in a real car. So it is much easier to mess up with the inputs we make, even I do. And it results in crashes, spins, and unwanted oversteer or understeer. But I know those effects are down to me, and only happen when I make a bad call with my inputs. I also do not judge any racing game on how it compares to real life, because for me they do not compare. Real life is real life. To me the best simulators around are just games. The only thing I carry over from real life, is that I treat the cars with respect in games like Forza, or any other that is billed as “simulation based”.

Whoops, I’m on mobile right now and scrolled right past iracing and corsa, my fault. Anyways, good for you that you have thousands to blow on game equipment, but T10 should market that as a requirement to fully enjoy this game. Again, you fall into the “I have been playing longer than you, so my opinion matters more” camp, which I could care less for. For me, the game handles like garbage. You like it and that’s all that matters for you, so that’s cool too.
