Wheel Improvements
This content update also adds some crucial improvements to functionality in Forza Motorsport 5. These include improved livery caching as well as some general improvements for the Thrustmaster and MadCatz wheels that are currently available for Xbox One and Forza Motorsport 5. These improvements have been designed to increase the feel and performance of both of these wheels when playing with Forza Motorsport 5.
I saw the post. I wonder exactly what they did? Will we no longer have vibration drop off & have it come back with Thrustmaster TX? Will the FFB be stronger for the TX, like it is on a PC?
There is definitely an improvement with my TX wheel. In one word, I would say more refined. Im running higher FFB 80. Its smoother, not so ‘tuggy’, took a FWD veloster for a few laps and it felt much better(even with sim steering). I found FWD before the update to be very tuggy and had to turn the FFB way down and sim steering off. Now its much better! Nothing new in the advanced in game settings. I thought there might be something there, but nope.
I just did some endurance mp races for about 3 hours and vibration never dropped for me, its looking good
The improvements are awesome. They are subtile, but improved my lap times immediately. The wheel feels much smoother now and i can take corners with better precision, T10 did a great job here!
cant say anything about keeping the DOR as i always set it on the wheel and use different DOR’s depending on car class.
Just when I’d adapted to how it was lol. Good to hear about the changes though. Hopefully it’s an all round improvement and FWD isn’t quite so stinky now.
Because i have no computer. The asst. manager at Gamestop did my 1st wheel, they have now closed and hes moved on. I don’t know anyone else i would trust to do it. I am a little upset with TM as they told me future updates for firmware could be done through the X1. Wheel still works great as is.
The wheel feels a bit smoother now around the centre with less wander on the straight ahead. The feedback also seems more progressive and linear in feel, but not dramatically so. To get the same level of resistance and grip information as before required 4 points more feedback dialled in. Have only run FWD thus far. AWD was also a problem child so will have to run that to see how it fared.
95% of the time I’m in RWD. I convert any AWD to RWD. Occasionally I’ll drive my FWD CRX. By far, my personal favorite in FM5 is the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe.
I especially love how the vibration has improved. I took same Cadillac back to Long Beach East & bettered my PB by a half of second last night. I was just more in tune with what the Cadillac was doing on the track.
As far as I’m concerned, this update for the TX on FM5 was awesome. Looks like Xbox One can deliver awesome FFB & vibration. Turn 10 just needed to implement it better. Bring on Project Cars in November.
Thats exactly what i have seen as well, and i wouldn’t have expected a FF improvement to have such a big impact on my lap times. I did a few runs yesterday, and on two occasions my lap times improved instantly by 0.3 seconds…and my pre-update best lap on both car/track combinations was a result of dozens of laps including a tailor made setup, so they were some pretty rock solid personal lap records.
They definitely exceeded my expectations with this update. I cant wait to improve some other best laps as well. Top100, here i come!
I’m going to do an hour long race at Laguna Seca C Class tonight & stream it. Will be using my FWD CRX. See how FWD is now with the update. See if I can lower my time. I’m expecting it to drop some
