Add qualifying to the Builders Cup
I hope for the Nordschleife they have added at least the two layouts, Nordschleife and 24h race layout, and ideally a third combining Sprint and Nords.
I wouldnât go as far as Monaco on overtaking but it can be more difficult than the insanely wide tracks on offer in FM23. Iâve been smashing out laps in FM7 since binning FM23 and placing myself at the rear of the field over a 3 lap race and really donât have any issues with overtaking anywhere on the track if you learn where the A.I are going to turn in on the line, yet to see how Nordschleife and the A.I will work out in FM23 but pretty sure itâs going to be messy.
For some reason the track even tho itâs supposed to be laser scanned feels narrower than IRL in the FMâs
I am also hoping they arenât just looking at the car xp but also the car points, there are two weird, and seemingly redundant restrictions on one of the fundamental draws of this game, being able to do whatever I want to a car pretty much right away, and have fun trying different cars with different mixes of parts, then racing them online or against the ai. Or if I find my tune isnât competitive, or my Paddock of cars doesnât contain the right one for a race, I can, if I have the credits, buy the right car and download a tune and go enjoy multiplayer without grinding
The freedom is part of the draw, itâs not the reward. Parts and upgrades are not an ability tree.
As for the other missing bits, Iâm kind of numb to the way the game industry does that already.
So Iâm hopeful they will get rid of the ability tree where each car is a me character to level up nonsense, given this announcement.
If they keep car points at all, it should only be tied to discounts on parts and nothing else. Even the 5 leveled up cars should offer 25% discounts on parts for the cars per MFG group. And that grouping isnât based on individual manufacturers, but how the companies are related. For example discounts earned on Nissan would also get you discounts on Datsun. And discounts on Ford, would land discounts on Mercury, Merkur and Lincoln⊠Etc. Thatâs what Turn 10 should do with car points. At least in my opinion.
In my opinion, if car levels are only going to be used for discounts, I think itâs perfectly fine to keep car-specific part discounts (e.g. 2% per car level); and either car discounts based on division or decade (with the same 5% per level 50 car, up to 25%), or a global discount (e.g. 1% per level 50 car, up to 30% to match the achievement), or even no discount at all (because the cars arenât that expensive).
I truly think manufacturer discounts are garbage. It makes no sense that the only way to get a discount on a DS3 is to buy a DS3. It only works for big manufacturers, to the point it would be a challenge to not get max discount on Ford, Nissan, or Ferrari, but youâll never get one for Ariel or Donkervoort. And thatâs true even if you make it auto-group based rather than manufacturer based.
Regions could work too. I am not opposed to that. It harkens back to the FM1 and FM2 games.
Ohh yeah⊠In fact most of the NFS games have great car sound.
Remember 1994âs The Need for Speed with the black Diablo and red Tests Rossa on the cover? That had great sounds for itâs time.
Could do an âothersâ manufacturer category for all manufacturers with 2 or less vehicles, if they did want to stick with manufacturers. Not very realistic admittedly but rewards those who wanted to focus on smaller companies.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing before I posted it because Iâve seen overtakes on the nordschleife before.

Almost room for a fourth on the Döttinger Hohe
Thatâs what worries me about bringing this track into featured multiplayer too soon, but I digress. Iâm sure with the influx of people (good and bad), matchmaking will actually work.

I just had a listen on YouTube. It did sound better than anything else at the time.
If they really do have to keep the levelling system Iâd be happy with say 40 minutes to get to level 50 instead of 3 hours. Itâs putting a big dent on my energy bill.
985mb update on FM my game just downloaded it
Just a heads up, the update released today is not the 5.0 content which is still planned for February.
Version 0.534.1562.0 is Update 4.1 to address crashing issues on Daytona.

A post was merged into an existing topic: FM Hotfix 4.1 - 30 Jan 2024
What if they make car points universal? So that any car points you are earning on that level 50 car can be used on any car?

If we had a lobby browser you wouldnt need Forza to host a âtrack dayâ
Fun fact: The Forza Motorsport series has had twice as many years without a lobby browser (13) than it has with one (6).
I want it too, but that ship sailed off into the sunset in 2011 and isnât coming back.

Microsoft seems to have forgotten that without great games, gamers have no interest in buying game consoles or game service subscriptions.
You canât just âwhip upâ a great game on demand though.
Most studios try to make the best and most enjoyable games they can, but actually doing that is really hard because you canât predict how the public will react 3-6 years down the line from you (the designers) coming up with your ideas. Thatâs on top of the genuinely difficult process of making a shippable product in the first place.
For all we know there were some great ideas on the table for Forza Motorsport and most of them either didnât get approved (by leads at Turn 10 or Microsoft) or the studio couldnât make them work and what were left with was⊠yâknowâŠ

One would hope, but this is the studio that decided to go with that pit exit at Daytona, Homestead and Laguna Seca.

So T10 and Microsoft just chose not to make a great game.
NĂŒrburgring Nordschleife ist coming with the 5.0 Update. How many Layouts have the track? I hope the 24h Layout comes too.
Itâs just the old crĂ©dit system, but by using carpoint instead of crĂ©dit
