FM status update on Car Progression

Well done :clap:t2:, I like the decision to give us the players options for tuning right off the bat just like in real life. If you got the money buy what you want. Overall seems like solid choices.

I also like that they didn’t remove leveling, it’s actually the only part of the system I liked at all. In fact I’d say Turn 10 should raise the cap to 100 or 1000 (keep manufacturer prize at 50) so we can track greater car usage. Maybe get a special livery or something as a prize for reaching that?

It’s always been a grind for credits dude, that’s not any different than any other game in the series. At least now, we can mod with the parts we need from the start. By now, you should have plenty of credits to build a good base and start racing like you want to. This, is exactly what I’ve been asking for. I’m content with this… For now at least.

I disagree. You get credits for every single activity in the game. So all you have to do is…play the game lol.

Exactly. Just like real life, you need money to race and modify cars. This is no different and that was never the problem That made up car leveling nonsense was the problem.

When I buy a car and level it up… When I buy a duplicate of that car, does it start over at Level 1?

I really feel like a duplicate car purchase should automatically be given the same Level of the highest Leveled prior copy I already own.

Reason being… If Car Level represents me getting to know the car, then spending the time to learn a car would carry over that personal experience to any other duplicate car. This experience is more something related to me, my driver. Not each separate (but identical) car.

I hope I’m expressing that clearly. My apologies, if not.

Just needed to play the game so I’ve heard.

Anyway I’m happy about the credit decision but there’s still a few question that need answering and even tweaks to the system to make offline players use more cars.

This change was for the onliners not so much the offliners

Such a good step in the right direction - I would have thought a toggle was the way to go, turn off CarXP to revert back to credit system or leave it on for those who enjoy CarXP.

I’m still not coming back to the game yet as single player leaves a lot to be desired, but I’m feeling much more positive about the game at this rate.

It’s a start, but it’s also a long way to the end of the issues list before I reinstall FM.

For me game stays pretty much same, I play sp career and thats it, cars get whatever points they get. I enjoy driving cars as they are available in sp game, sometimes not even upgrading parts if car feels fine… some cars dont feel fine but that actually gives bit of challenge while driving…
But game still has sp crisis… there is no much point to continue driving car after series… and lack of career length… Car point update does not do much for sp game :frowning:

Please post any questions you think of here related to these changes so I can pass them to the team.
(Just a reminder again, we know players are waiting on other status updates but this topic is for the Car Progression feature only.)

I appreciate your reply.

There’s a few I have at the top of my head and a few in the guys posts above.

For me I’m a sp player I will dabble online but not yet.

Enquiry 1:
I want to use more cars in career and get the manufacturer bonus, maybe even repeating cups with a different car to level. But it takes at least 3 cups to fully level a car, it’s far too long. I’ve completed all the cups apart from timed gated cups and I haven’t leveled 1 car yet, that’s about 70 hours or so.

I want to have a car fully upgraded by the end of a cup. So then I can redo that cup with a different car I can level. It feels with this ā€˜time to level’, your confined too much time to one car and would like to experiment with other cars. I’m not someone who puts hours and hours every day into a game let alone Forza.

Indeed. Followed by all the missing tracks, stats, auction house, hoppers, and we’ll be back to where we should’ve been 5 months ago. :upside_down_face:

This looks like a SHUB request - what’s the question?

Can the ā€˜time to level’ a car be reduced, especially for the offline side of the game. Basically what I was getting at.

Sorry what’s a shub request?

I am happy about the coming changes. :+1:

I mean seriously i been ranting about the horrible carPG system for months. It finally gets changed, well made optional and everybody is happy. Ppl can still level up their cars and unlock the parts if they want to, or just buy it what i prefer. And it’s great the manufacturer discount still works. If you don’t swap engine or drivetrain it should be a pretty reasonable price to upgrade the cars. It won’t be 100K for each that is for sure.

It’s a win win for everybody. Nobody can complain about these changes.

Thanks for listening and keeping us in the loop T10!

I’m very happy with the idea. Let the player decide how they want to progress either through points or credits.

Now if you can just add more events to the career mode and get rid of FOMO I think there’ll be enough for players to get along with.

aka.ms/SHUB is our shortlink to the forums Suggestions Hub. Requests for new or changed features should be posted there; the questions I’m referring to are how the Car Progression details work. ā€œCan (xyz) be (changed)ā€ isn’t a question we’ll address until we have an announcement after considering the requests posted in the Economy / Progress Suggestions Hub or other categories.

How about expanding manufacturer bonus a bit by adding a 10% XP Boost per car leveled to 50, that stacks up to 50%? So getting my first Dodge to max level is gonna take about 3 hours but my sixth Doge will only take about 1.5 hours to get maxed out.
