First ever DLC purchase - car pass or VIP?

I as a collector as well as racer always bought the steelbook editions until they forced me to go digital but in the top end editions VIP and Car Pass were always part of the package and both have their advantages and disadvantages. VIP doubles your credits, gives you free cars and different monthly events the Car Pass means you get all the monthly issued car sets with some additional ones thrown in, now I know some people declare you might only get one car you really want with loads more you don’t want but you started Forza 6 with 450 cars which included hundreds you did not want anyway.
No car is useless in the game they may be ugly and slow as hell in real life but stick a good tune on any car and it will outperform your expectations whether you make them drifters, dragsters or racer any car can be more fun than you first imagined plus remember for this release the amounts of cars you had in other Forza editions garages meant you could have had up to 25 million credits from day one. There are pluses and minuses on both but then doesn’t everything in life I miss my steelbook’s but I will continue to buy the top end digital editions with everything included so I won’t be saying to myself that I wished I had further down the road because in the end it’s your personal choice so buy what YOU want and don’t let others opinions sway you.
Best advice I can give you is for the next release buy the top end edition with all the bells and whistles included and see how it works for you if it does fine if it doesn’t you know better for the future no matter what you choose remember keep it fun and just enjoy it. Good Luck.

Get the car pass is my advice.

The VIP doesn’t offer anything extra other than the initial VIP car pack and if you really want a car from that i think you can buy it seperately (hard to know as i have both so it doednt give me buy options). If you play online it doesnt take too long to get to level 150 and around then i stopped caring about credits or spins - which is really the only other slightly useful thing VIP offers. The VIP rivals seems pointless, its identical to the monthly section just differing cars/tracks month to month.

The car pass is not only the best way to buy them value wise (instead of buying each pack seperately) but if history repeats itself, with FM5 t10 actually ended up releasing a few extra car packs near the end which were given to car pass holders for free, but others had to pay for them. It wouldn’t surprise me if the same occurs with FM6, especially after their decision to remove certain cars from online there will be an expectation by some that there be some form of replacement.

The only other thing i’ll throw in is if you’re going to eventually buy the car pass don’t buy any of the packs separately. With FM5 i didnt initially buy the pass, then several months in after buying 2 packs separately i then wanted the extra one they gave to pass holders for free at the end - problem was if i got the pass then overall i would be spending more money than buying the rest seperately as there is no discount for the pass even if you already own some of the packs it will give you. If your money focused either get the pass or don’t get any packs at all until you’ve seen what they all contain so you can make a sensible decision.

Oh and there have been cars in the pack i initially had no interest in… until i drove them, expect the unexpected

I’d say wait a month and buy the Porsche expansion.
