FFB sensations on PC Vs Xbox

I must say that I am very disappointed with this Forza. I don’t understand why console players can’t play with a steering wheel like on PC. I have a CSL DD Mclaren 8NM and on PC it feels totally different while on console it is terrible, it is as if they regulated the force behind the wheel by 50% and all the sensations are totally different with the exact configuration on PC and Xbox. Not to mention that there is no screen support on the console, nor button mapping support. I want to play on a console with a steering wheel and there are no equal sensations as on PC. I would like to know if anyone else tried this. All streamers show their steering wheel settings but they use PC.

It doesn’t come from Forza, I have the same problem with all games that come out on both platforms, drivers are not handled the same way between console and PC

Ok but who is responsible? Turn 10, Microsoft with Xbox or Fanatec? If the developers participated more in this group it would be great.

I think it’s due to binding limitations set to default 12 buttons by Microsoft. I read it somwhere so don’t quote me on that.

But it’s not just the 12 buttons but the strength of the device and the sensation is totally different.

This is true, but I think it is time for Xbox to improve this and support a format equal to that of PC. They sell you a fanatec ring with support for xbox, but I can’t map the buttons on xbox because of this and also the sensations are totally different. I think turn 10 and the xbox team could get together and try to suggest this.

This had me look up what the differences between X-Input and Direct Input, and I found an article from How-to-Geek on the subject. Needless to say, that Microsoft was extremely short sighted when they made X-Input and fashioned it solely to the needs of the Xbox 360 controller. As if no one would ever need more input or require more functionality?

That is probably why X-Input never became the sole standard, and Microsoft is entirely to blame for Fanatec (and other wheel MFG’s products) not working to their fullest potential.
