FFB bug on TX?

Hey,

I don’t frequent the forums much, I’ve had a flick through the first page and can’t see anyone mentioning this.
I’m using a brand new Thrustmaster TX base with stock wheel and pedals, latest firmware, FFB scale turned down to 50% and 540 deg turn. I’ve noticed, every single race I do, if I rewind a couple of times my FFB scale completely changes. And not just a little bit, it’s as if the scale has been turned up to 100%. Initially I thought this could be car damage however it’s been happening over the last week and at times when I know there is no damage, only 3-4 laps into a race. And what confirmed it for me is if I unplug the wheel, then plug it back in, it resets back to normal! But then proceeds to stiffen up again over the next few laps.
It’s horribly distracting, I’m racing for a top 10-20 position in rivals and this completely throws me off being able to put in a consistent lap, difficult to tell if this is the hardware or software but given that the base was brand new last week I’m inclined to think it’s Forza at fault. Anyone else experiencing this?

Cheers.

Don’t know about it happening when using rewind as I have that switched off but there is definitely a bug associated with fm6 and the TX wheel. I get the problem you outlined as well as the one where more power seems to go to the left of the wheel and these problems can happen randomly or I find if u have to steer heavily back and forth either to avoid a collision or to correct some poor driving. Easiest way I’ve found to get the TX functioning correctly again is to Xbox button back to dash start button on game and resume full screen. Setting up my fanatec this week so will be interesting to see if similar problems occur. Peace and happy racing

Hey Muffler… please PM me or something to let me know what you think about the Fanatec… I’m very interested, as I own the CSR and CSP from the 360.

Thanks and good luck!

The fanatec CSW is fantastic strong, quick & top notch build quality! It’s a lot of money but i think worth it. Makes all other wheels for Xbox look like toys.

Exactly this, Can be really off putting!

Sorry, I have a TX… but never rewind… though I did loose FFB once… had to unplug the wheel (power Cable) and wait 10 seconds and re plugin… wheel recalibrated and was fine.

Bugs. You’re not doing anything wrong from the sound of it.

A few bad bugs with the wheel in FM6.

Make sure you’re running the latest firmware on the TX: http://ts.thrustmaster.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=1&fid=2&pid=316&cid=15

Hi Snowowl,

Can you please speak to your boss(es) and have someone confirm that a solution is being worked on by T10 and/or Thrustmaster?

You obviously know that this has been an ongoing issue by all the threads and messages on these forums, even after each monthly update - nothing has been done and no response from T10!

You are our voice to your boss/manager.

Thanks.

Have you updated your firmware & it’s still happening?
Was wondering if this bug is still running since last update?
This doesn’t affect my fanatec but I know that most people have been turning their rumble down to below 30 & it’s better apparently. Interested to know if it’s the wheel firmware?

Yes, I have the latest firmware. In fact I keep checking Thrustmaster support website every week for any new update to possibly address this issue. I also have set vibrate/ffb to recommended levels. The FFB problem still exists.

I’m done speculating what is causing the issue. It’s time for the engineer “experts” to fix the problem for TX users.

Hi

I’m having same sort of problem here.
I bought TX Wheel Base 458 Italia Edition last week, didn’t work so got a replacement,
started driving with TX on FM6 few days ago and FFB seems odd to me.
I don’t use rewind function, so that’s not the trigger on my FM6.
First few laps works fine, but after collision, or pit stop, or something else,
the feel of FFB changes and starts to turn left on braking, turn, etc.
Doesn’t matter how the car is behaving, the wheel just try to turn left in any situation.
The FFB on GT6 is way better.

Gotta put TX Base back in the box until the problem is solved, it’s completely useless.

The wheel turning left when braking is a bug in the game. Turn rumble off and/or vibration down to below 30. It will still be there but you won’t really feel it.

+1 sadly - this is the answer. The issue is with the vibration settings. Every blue moon I bump this back up in hopes it will be fixed and half way through a race I cancel and go back. My vibration setting is set to 25%…

The other real bummer here is certain cars under straight line braking (abarth 500 and the normal 458 ferarri for example) turn hard left. This is so bad that it makes it impossible to race these cars in stock form with vibration set to anything other than 0.

This is a silly bug and it existed in forza 5 as well (and the same cars).

The hard left pull happens to me as well. It is very frustrating especially if I am in rivals challenge mode. After 4-5 laps without the hard left glitch my car feels loose and under braking the car feels like it shaking to a stop. I notice that when i quit that session the audio at the momment i quit is stuck or has a paused delay. I think it could be that the audio and FFB are not in sync causing this glitch. It could be a hardware problem or interface problem. Maybe the audio/effects are too much for the xbox to handle in combination with the Tx wheel interface. I bought forza 5 to see if this would happen and it does but not as much as forza 6. This never happened in forza 4 while using my Grey xbox 360 wheel with pedals and headset connection. Anyways I am not qualified to determine the problem but at least i know I am not the only one dealing with the hard left glitch. So basically I quit the current lap and I exit all the way to the menu that shows your car in the garage(not the screen with the 2017 gt 40). Then I go back to rivals challenge window and start all over and the glitch is gone until another 5-10 laps. It gets very fustrating considering I paid $100 buck not including tax.

Definitely experiencing the Left Pull Bug…

Turn FFB down below 80%

More importantly, Vibration needs to be 30 or below (till it gets address)…

Also… Bug is brought on (for me at least) by being off track, jumping curbs, big hits, etc.
In other words drive clean and keep it on the track and it doesn’t appear to happen for me anymore (my vibe is at 30%, FFB at 80%)

Frankly, I’m beginning to think that the bug is more related to Damage… As if Damage still affects the wheel, even when damage is off…

As for me even on the track like I stated in rivals challenge I have to race clean if not I get a dirty lap. I try to get clean lap so my time will count on leaderboard section in Hardcore. The more laps the more the car gets less responsive I do not tune my own car I use leaderboard tunes and others depends on the track. Online racing is a headache especially with all the dive bombing from the rear. The wheel is super sensitive while online racing for me but I guess it is what it is… As for a wheel user even though its a pain I keep playing until I find another car racing game to try.

It’s def FM6 issue. I have no wheel issues in any other game with the TX or the Spider wheel.

I’m getting none of these problems on my fanatec CSW. Neither the left pull or the Ffb change in power over time.

Is it just me or not? but when i first start a race the car feels planted to the track and handles well and my tires aren’t even warmed up yet. But after a few laps the car starts to feel a lot more loose and i am losing traction a lot and my tail end is all over the place. I know my tires can’t be bad already. I get to like 1st-3rd position and It’s almost like the game is trying to mess me up. Also, the other drivatars have crazy handling and high corner entry speed and are able to maintain yet if i do that i know i will understeer.

I also use a tx wheel.
