MONTHLY RIVALS
The total point value of Monthly events is divided by four when applied to individual seasons; completing both events will apply up to 2 points applied to each season in this series. Post a clean lap to complete Rivals events. Cars are stock and provided as free rentals for the event. This month’s Rivals offer an opportunity to drive the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo III and Volvo C30 Polestar before they’re available to collect for your garage
Interesting to see this.
There’s always been a thing in other old discussions that the PC aids players with many things - mainly that they tend to run on rails especially in jumps and have perfect landings whereas consoles throw the car all over the place.
Disappointing if that’s really true.
Pretty tame PR stunt requirements this season. Don’t think anyone will have any problems completing them.
On the other hand, should be interesting to see how the Trial turns out given the discourse I’ve read this week on here and Reddit about cross country racing.
I don’t think it’s a case of the PC version having some special thing that helps players because I put it down to the Xbox One X being stuck at 30FPS and my PC runs 60FPS. I’ve had degraded performance on PC at 30FPS too.
I always tend to get better numbers for PR stunts on PC too. As they say, frames win games.
There is also the issue that FH5 is very poorly optimised for the Xbox One generation and every update, it gets more laggy.
Whatever the cause is, I don’t get why an MS Xbox should be outperformed by an an MS PC.
They should be on equal terms. The fact that you get better results on PC over console just confirms that the PC has an advantage over the console which is just not acceptable.
The main discussion about PC’s has always been that they always land a jump with no issues whilst consoles often struggle to land straight. Is that the case?
n.b. I’m on a Series X console rather than a One.
I always get confused by this FPS thing. When I turn on the Xbox it says its running at 60 Hz. Is that different to the FPS rate ?
There’s also been this thing recently about higher framerates causing issues with car stability in dips etc. so people have been saying to reduce the FPS to get some challenges to complete.
apparently I keep getting targeted by somebody(s) with false reports of inappropriate liveries, and subsequently banned. this is the fifth time this week.
it appears that my creative hub has been wiped. this is getting very annoying, but then again, so is the game, so maybe it’s a blessing in disguise.
see you in 2026 apparently, unless this gets cleared up
edit: after sifting through the mess of a dozen in-game and support messages, only the 30 day ban is active. if I’m not back within 7 days, go on without me!
Quirky alternative by Atelieze if anyone wants to go left field, they have several tunes for this including ones with less power + easier to control as a result.
Hasn’t been mentioned here yet so could just be me but in both these races the lead AI just understeered off and slammed head on into the trees on the left on the first gentle right.
The 60hz is the refresh rate of the screen which is standard for 1080p screens and this usually has parity to the output of the input source (xbox) but the input source can be lower than that and screens often automatically adjust.
I use a 60hz 1080P smart HDMI switch so I have an extra layer of pass through between devices and TV screen but this has never given an issue in over a decade of use.
I’m working on the basis that xbox one x runs FH5 at 30fps based on every recording I’ve made in the game - it shows shows as 30fps in my video editor and the performance is akin to what i’ve seen 30 FPS do on the PC
I don’t have series console so can’t comment on frame differences there but I have not noticed any difference in landings etc on console or PC. Speed and responsiveness seem to be the differing factors.
At 30FPS on PC, I’ve found it to stutter and have uneven draw rate which affects the handling like I see on the Xbox One.
At 60 FPS, the PC is still a bit dodgy in places but my PC isn’t exactly top spec (I7 3rd gen, 16GB Ram, GeForce 1060 GPU) and I choose custom settings in game to get the best I can whilst still at 60 FPS.
I usually push the GPU more by upping the options that affect GPU and try to reduce CPU load by reducing those options otherwise by default, the game will want to max out the CPU and barely touch the GPU.
My windows install is also very stripped down with things forcibly removed or blocked lowering the OS footprint because I only use it for recording/editing videos so I can afford to nuke much of the bloat. I get to hack the crap out of my windows install but cannot do that on the xbox
This is my time using 21 Bronco tune against Unbeatable AI for the Trial. It is not a power build but a more balanced build with a bit less power and more handling. It is not the meta way to tune cars on this track but defenately a more drivable way.

Feel free to try it out, and I am open to any responses.
PC doesn’t help players with more features or better handling. It is just faster because it is faster. 120 fps is MILES better than 30. It’s so much smoother, which allows you to react better.
As previously stated, Frames win games.
No, as a PC player I’d say we’re not immune from jumps causing problems, but I suspect we’re merely more mune [sic!] than xbox players to the random malignity of the Forza gods.
Anybody got a A class Ford drift tune. I have no idea and there are 100 Fords. This I what annoys me. Wasting my time cause I just don’t know.
Never mind
