Thanks for the shoutout & checking out the design; appreciate it!
First run…we won the first two races and they made us do the third race lol. Worst team mates in my time in this game. Second run with the honda it was rather easy…but we had one guy that thought it was a drifting competition and took about 4 seconds off my time. I was kind of peeved. Might go again with the honda civic 97. It drives really nice.
Re the #Forzathon Weekly Challenge.
It is a bit confusing but the important part of the challenge is in bold text and Max posted the challenge correctly at the beginning of this thread:
Can’t Be Beat Win a Drag Race Event in the 2020 Toyota GR Supra
the way I work with these “Horizon Special” type categories is to go to an event and create a blueprint. You can set the restriction from there and see the eligible cars when you select test drive
You do not have to save the blueprint so it wont be event space
The Ioniq 5 feels like a write-off at A800. The road builds are just terrible and the Dirt one isn’t that much better.
Did a CC build but it was ~10 seconds slower than my Hummer EV on Titan.
The power/weight/grip ratio simply seems off.
It has an offroad S900 build with the Nevera swap. Two problems here: While the aero is sufficient to cope with the power the mechanical grip surely is not. Once its required the car slides all over the place.
Secondly, the Nevera engine is trash which leads to a huge PI waste.
But it seemed like the best build because power > everything else for CC.
The Kia would have been in the vicinity of the top A800 road SUVs pre-Rallye-DLC.
But without rear tire profile size upgrades it’s at a big disadvantage.
It’s okay though.
Re the trucks deliberately bumping into other players, yesterday I tested a truck with a good tune to see how easy it would be to bump into others. It wasn’t easy at all and I didn’t see any bad behavior in the actual trials I did today.
That is a good thing. I ended up with the wreckfest untuned crew. I did the trial four times. I love the honda 97 civic…it really drives nice.
What was your desired class for that track? I had so much speed before the hills that there was no way to brake before corner.
Not a fan of that tunnel either, too narrow for me, I wear XXL.
But overall it is nice track with nice surroundings and on top of that I had a great co-op race against S2000. Well, at least once we got rid of two other players
EDIT: Tried it two more times.
With more handling build cars it is much more enjoyable.
Still not a fan getting air time on hills, but at least was able to brake before corner.
There is one big(?) issue though. If you go to close to the left wall on start-finish straight you will miss CP
Stumbled upon two LDAC members testing EV6 in Horion Open A class road (I was combining weekly challenge with Supra+“clean pass” challenge). Couldn’t catch the faster one which was doing mid 46 on Bahía. And now I don’t know if I suck (probably that one), my car sucked or my tune sucked.
So my question is: What is your opinion on mk5 Supra? Can you give me a target time for Bahía? Suggestion for a tune? (now using purist build with rally tires with stock rear width )
Well….i wear XL so I just fit in the tunnel….
It’s just for an added challenge. That was around the time they first released the first set of race props….so the tunnel was something I wanted to try.
Overall prop budget prevented that hill from being extended farther. B class was ideal for the club circuit and A class is comfortable for the full circuit. You might like that one better.
There’s the short track ribbon that turns left after the finish line straight, that’s easier to turn into overall. I see what you’re saying, though. Definitely more of a grip track.
As for the start line check point issue. I did notice it’s missing from the start line all together. The original course has the start line checkpoint visible. There’s a glitch where Eventlab decides to place that checkpoint not as wide as it should be (Eventlab creators don’t actually place or control the finish line check point as it’s automatic for circuits). Definitely not intentional!
Thanks for trying it a few times! Definitely fun to build/make.
Disconnected during the middle of my first Trial race for no good reason. Wheeeee. And it was an amusing race too: most of us weren’t tuned, and the AI was having some serious trouble staying in a straight line through the corners. I spotted one of them a massive lead by making a stupid unforced error, but I caught up before I got kicked because it kept sliding out into the wall.
I just ran the Trial in the '74 Civic (Rocklxd) and not a single truck in sight. Dismal team in many respects but at least they quit and let 2 others and myself who wanted to make an effort complete the events with no issues
I remember that last trial with the trucks in this one. They were using my mini cooper as a kick ball lol. It was harsh.
Seasonal S900 Rally Monsters XC is just pure hell.
Haa, my second Trial attempt started with me coming around a corner and smacking headfirst into an AI that was pointing the wrong way. The robits are in rare form this week. Still managed to catch up to a bunch of them after they recovered, and then we squeaked by them in race 2.
I looked too late and now pointlessly spent 2.8 million
The AI are ridiculous in that one…usually it’s a balanced build for speed/handling for CC circuits with RM’s. However, the AI were doing ridiculous speed and around the corners. I redid one race three times. Worst one I have done in a while. The AI kind of ruined my playlist this week with the aggression. It was like I got in the delorean and warped back to FH4.
Jumped on just to run this, so here’s my feedback: thought the track layout was pretty well designed with decent racing lines that allowed for an enjoyable circuit overall. Some of the only negatives for me were the unevenness of the track in the hill sections & the resulting air time. I ran it a couple times in different cars, just to eliminate the set-up, but it was pretty much the same for both in A800.
Looks like it’s definitely gotten some play time prior to this given the number of DLs, but was surprised to see the low number of likes given for that many plays. Anyway, you’ve got one more now fwiw Nice job
*Edit: guess I’m also clearly unaware of how exactly the ELs record history. When I initially looked at my play history for your event, it showed like 7 plays, but when I did an open search, that’s where I found it with referenced numbers above (like 45K plays/15 Likes), so I’m pretty well confused. I made a similar comment when I looked up some other previous events that had basically no plays, so something’s clearly amiss (& it’s probably me )
We shouldn’t have to do stuff like that. There REALLY should be filters in the garage. There clearly IS a filter for it in the race creator, so why not where we need it more?
We have to look it up (either the way you described, or on the internet). Just like there’s no list of more involved skills. Again, internet. Almost like they want us out of the game more.
Trucks are never fun online when mixed with cars. I do think some of the trucks should be banned online. The MB FE truck is a pain and every time I’ve seen it used online, it was being driven badly by an idiot
