Festival Playlist events and rewards July 25 - Aug 1 (Autumn S36)

I understood perfectly what you were referring to, don’t worry. Thanks for commenting and for playing Eventlab

@Laberbacke  The game works in mysterious ways.

Seems seven is a lucky number as that’s the number of attempts it took me to be in a winning round of the Trial this week. Glad it’s over and I can focus on the DLC challenges and the last ever summer seasonal in FH4.

A few tips for other easily frustrated players when diving head first into the Trial:

  1. Many of the Nissans may be a bit unruly when tuned.
Build or find a tune that’s robust and be prepared for cars sliding all over the road in the races.

  2. There are some tight corners you need to anticipate well in advance so you don’t go off road or miss a checkpoint. Beware of other players in front of and behind you at those corners so you don’t crash.

  3. Don’t fear overtaking other players if you can do so cleanly so that you can hone in on the Drivatars as quickly as possible. Make those Drivatars regret the picosecond they were instanced!

Had some successful Trial runs. I don’t know if I’m just going blind in my old age but I had trouble seeing the braking line on Wetland charge, luckily I know the course fairly well.

Designs by @PlageBLN

Also gave a send-off to the Donut Media Low Car. Handles pretty well with drag tires.

I’ve done a fair bit of the playlist and had the same thought about the driving line but can’t remember which event but it was absent for a large part of one race

stock options, series 35 “Horizon Cars & Coffee”, week 2 autumn/storm season

[loose basis for approach; cheapest car that’ll do the stunts, least-driven car for races]

forzathon weekly “Spirit of Performance” – Koenigsegg CC8S

trial “A Matcha Made in Heaven” – Silvia ‘94 (lowest PI car present; beat 2 robots then 3)

eventlab “Sunset Palms Raceway” – Jaguar XJ220S (okay but same or similar recently?)

eventlab “Calvo’s Karting” – #20 MG MG6 (not bad)

eventlab “Cordillera Rally” – Lancer GSR WP (good course, liked it)

danger sign “Valle” – Nissan Pulsar (quite tricky; 212.60m)

speed trap “Levee” – Nissan Pulsar (not too hard; 124.99mph)

speed zone “Cordillera” – Nissan Pulsar (easy; 98.47mph)

championship “Feel the Hype” – L. Aventador '21 (easy wins)

championship “A Pretty Swede Deal” – Lambo Miura (easy wins)

championship “Finger on the Pulsar” – Lancia Fulvia (wins; 1 fairly easy then 2 easy)

treasure hunt “Doing Watt it Takes” – Rimac Concept 2 (electric car, aeródromo runway, 200mph)

RA speed zone “Devil’s Pass” – Volvo 242 Turbo (not too hard; 65.29mph)

RA championship “Retro Reapers” – Peugeot 205 T16 (easy wins)

HW danger sign “Canyon Fire” – Aventador ‘12 (easy; 429.64m)

HW championship “Hot n Cold” – 650S Spider (easy wins)

Had the same issue with driving line.

Thought my settings had screwed up despite me changing nothing.

So, this new AM Vanquish has a retractable display in the cockpit, which begs the question for me: do we have this in any other cars? I honestly don’t remember seeing it if we do or just forgot about it. I had thought there was a McLaren with a retractable speedo cluster, but wasn’t able to find it.
The further down the rabbit hole I traveled I stumbled across multiple 765LTs in my garage, which lead me to verify availability of the car in both AS & AH; to my surprise, they are nowhere to be found, so apparently pretty rare

Not just you. I had to do the Trial twice, and the Wetland line kind of came and went both times. My only guess is that the lighting was causing an issue?

Surprised there hasn’t been much discussion about the new VW SP-2; anyone spent any time with it? Really nice looking car overall & given that it seems to be mainly a Rally car, decided to spend some time on a period themed design for anyone interested. As always, thanks to anyone who checks it out & enjoy!

Thanks, appreciate it!

Hey always nice having the actual creators hanging around here, and you’re in luck - this track is very decent, I had a good time driving it yesterday :ok_hand:

Overall I must say that all the playlist Event Labs were really good imo, and it’s very rare I don’t have anything to complain about

So Bravo Zulu all around :+1:

This design works perfectly with the Rally Adventure themed Opel and Lancia Delta you came up with last year.

Thank you

Nice easy Trial this week, minus the part where I zoned out during the second race and plowed into a tree. We won big in both races.

@SpirantCrayon22 It’s funny, I managed the Danger Sign on just my second attempt with the stock Pulsar, but the Speed Trap is what gave me serious grief. I just couldn’t figure out a good line without either clipping a tree or the river. I finally managed it, but only by half a MPH.

I really enjoyed all three EventLabs this week. I loved the route for the Cordilerra Rally, so much fun. The karting track in the stadium looked great, though it made the game chug a bit. And Sunset Palms Raceway felt like a lost original track from an older Gran Turismo game. Great work by all three creators.

Ive only tried one build for that VW so far and got #75 for Castillo Del Mar street race. I hope its good for other stuff, like a handling build on dirt that would seem more in line with the character of the car.

The stock tires grip numbers looked good for C class sprints and street races so i kept it RWD mostly added power. It ended up with more than 400 hp if i remember right. A power build that doesnt quite want to light up the tires whenever i hit the gas, but its still a handful. Not the build im looking for though.
