SVT Cobra '00 (TGM, stock tires) & GT ’24 (TGM, drags) - 1:26.854

Not done a whole lot here this week, after setting a PB it seemed pretty pointless so I just ran the 3 new cars that are available this time, obviously the ‘24 GT was just for a bit of silliness too, I’ll share the Mach 1 on Wednesday but I have 3 tunes up from the original run….

GT Coupe - 888 324 605
SVO - 385 022 842 (no idea why I shared this though when it’s just :man_shrugging: fine)
SVT ‘00 - 352 532 408

In the original the ‘00 was the only car that couldn’t fit Offroads in, so I shared that as a kind of test and of course it got the most downloads of the 3  hopefully that car won’t be as common a choice given the ‘95 and ‘03 models will also show up in the view eligible cars menu this time which can fit an appropriate build in.

Dannis6217, brother, please use a spoiler, I beg you very much. Trust me, no one wants to scroll through everything you post at the beginning of each season every time. If someone is really interested in your tuning and designs, they will definitely look under the spoiler. If you think I’m biased against you, then trust me that’s not the case, I just want you to show some respect for the community, and not act like you’re the only one here and the others aren’t important. I don’t need any conflict and I try to treat everyone kindly, including you, and in this case I ask for basic respect for all of us.

Is it really hard for you to do this?

Awful team.

All stock with no tyre changes. I dnf’d them all and we lost 2-0. Sighs

Go again.

This will be a marginally difficult trial. Very specific car and class will mean loads will go in without checking what they need and not have a great choice.

Yep, fortunately 2 out of my 3 stockwits quit and the other 2 00 drivers had at least upgraded thier cars to the top of B and could drive so I didn’t need to work too hard on blocking.

Its a darned shame folk don’t check and prep as there are a lot of fun and historic build options plus the AI are easy if you bring AWD and off roads.

My counter-argument would be that every Trial restriction should have at least one decent stock option available. Or, y’know, that the car/track restrictions should make even a lick of sense, which is not the case here.

100% with you on having a usable and fully viable stock option.

However I would have to politely disagree on the race/class combination. I personally love muscle cars on dirt and its a fairly historic use case for such vehicles. Mustangs have been and are dirt raced and rallied (and not just the “we entered the road stages” approach). Maybe they need to look on how such combinations work and maybe restrict them to stock drive trains so you aren’t as heavily penalised by sticking to rwd.

Heh, it must be a personal preference thing then. Honestly I don’t particularly like driving classic muscle cars even on asphalt. Apparently my country was so concerned about building a car that could go fast in a straight line that they never considered what happens when you turn the wheel.

Dear LSD5IZEN, thanks a lot for your kind advise. I will try to do that for the season 57.

I don’t want to upset anyone in the community. I am sorry for that.

Hi Dannis6217, thank you so much for your adequate understanding, I and the whole community are very grateful to you. Thank you :folded_hands:

You’re supposed to grab a tune for the Trial though and that’s been clear for a long time, as admirable as choosing stock week in week out is that’s exactly what it is, a conscious choice.

It’s why stock has been it’s own specific requirement in a couple of series’ throughout the game’s life, it’s always open to players in any standard Trial sure but it’s clearly not the intended approach.

Also personally I’d much rather we have a variety of restrictions since it fits the game/series nowadays, some more logical ones but other times have some wildcards, just in general with this game always trying to be correct, sensible, uptight, sticking to what you know etc will inevitably make it get boring and repetitive, I’d rather see the devs looking like they’re having a bit of a laugh with a restriction than churning out B Modern Rally on Dirt for the 4935th time.

I mean I think “supposed to” is a little bit of a stretch. I’m far from the best driver in this game, but in the vast majority of Trials throughout the lifespan of this game I’ve managed to net a decent chunk of points driving stock cars, and quite frequently earn 500-600 or even straight-up win. I think Trial restrictions that give a number of decent options are good for everyone, whether they choose to upgrade their car or not, as they can provide a decent base for the former to apply some minor upgrades to be more effective. Otherwise players are stuck having to poke around lower-class cars to see what could potentially qualify for the restriction with substantial enough upgrades.

And I don’t mind the occasional wildcard restriction, but honestly I think those are the times when a stock requirement makes the most sense. Force the whole field to hoon around a bulky RWD muscle car on dirt, to see who’s able to adapt to and overcome those conditions. Because the thing is, if you’re throwing AWD and dirt tires/suspension onto a muscle car, it’s not even a muscle car anymore, is it? It’s some completely-different custom build that just so happens to have a muscle car chassis on top of it. And really that’s why I keep all of my cars stock. When I pick a car to drive in this game, I want to drive that car, not some upgraded version that behaves almost nothing like the real thing.

What costume should I wear for the weekly assignment? It says I’m wearing a chicken costume, so I wear it, but the assignment doesn’t count.

If I can add, the ai does not help, it doesn’t struggle in stock rwd on dirt like a person does/can do

 again….

I intentionally use a ridiculous car on the wrong tire compound (since it can only do B700 with drags) yet end up having the 2nd most appropriately built one in the team :joy: :man_facepalming: possibly even the most appropriate if that ‘95 was still on it’s stock tires.
