Sadly I don’t see any reason to play if the game is not working. I don’t have crash but multiplayer become a total hell. I don’t care if I win or lose, it’s a game, but begin send out of track almost all time by some players who don’t even care to brake make the whole racing pointless. I can very well understood a missed or late brake, an overtake ended in a hit and all, but I can’t understood players who just keep going at full speed in a slow turn just to cause mayhem.
Yeah it’s unfortunate that there’s so many people out there that play just to ruin others gaming time
Maybe see if you can get in with those that have private events running, I know a whole lot of leagues have stopped playing the game because of the inconsistencies and have made it known to Turn10, but I’ve seen a few posters here that have regular meets, maybe one of them will read this thread and send you a message offering to join them?
It’s really quite sad that the game still hasn’t got the workarounds that Turn10 mentioned they know others use and were going to implement to combat rammer scum but with the state of how things are atm it feels to me like it’s a skeleton crew working in the office
The single biggest thing that would clean up MP is to ghost everyone for the first 30 seconds, it would give everyone enough time to get sorted out without being taken out
Personally I can race clean from the get go like most other normal people but if it means my race isn’t ended because of either a rammer or someone that just went in too hot, I’m all for it

Honestly I am extremly disappointed with the penalties.
The player before me was pushed by another car into gravel → went off track → got ghosted → returned to track in front of me → got unghosted → absolutelly no time for me to react and I hit him → 5s penalty for me…
I treasure clean racing and to be honest, penalties are getting worse and worse. Until they really fix it, I quit playing, because this is no more fun, but just frustration.

I mean, 8 months later and we’re still complaining about this system. The implementation it seems has core issues that they either cannot fix or do not understand. Perhaps they’ll get it right by the end of the games life…

The track limit violation FRR penalties are 90% inaccurate. Often times, it will not penalize those when there’s an actual advantage and when there’s none, they slap you with huge penalty.
Also, Track Limits penalties should come with 3x Warnings at first before handing out penalties.
They are working, announced a couple of months ago. Also the track limits are very pronounced and severe, in spa and in susuka
Honestly I am a bit confused with your example. You are crossing the track limit band with both tires (left and right) without lifting throttle and complain?
He lost there time anyway, at best he gained no advantage, yet still get penalty, there are multiple places where u can cut/go wide with time advantage and not get penalty (hockenheim 1st corner), and also places where mere pixel cut slaps u with 1.8s panalty.
I think that penalties are based on how fast theoretical AI can beat this segment, and if ai is lot slower there u get massive panalty. (Yas marina zig-zag for example, to get optimal run trough there u need to enter first zig-zag corner almost cutting track limit, and it’s easy to pixel cut it and get like 1.2s penalty there, while realistic time gain is up to 0.1s for this cut)
On other side on Spa’s Eau rouge, u sometime get fair penalties, I once had to cut there just to get out of slipstream range, and given penalty was quite fair.
Or on Silverstone, because on my tail was one of these slipstream monsters and dive bomber (formula mazda) I just went and cut trough chicane at end of lap 1, getting like 9.8s penalty, but I not having him in slipstream range, meant I could gain ~12s trough whole race.

GT race, 1 lap, A category. Car in front of me is starting to spin , no contact , grass? I didn’t noticed the reason but my vehicle was like a car length away.
I didn’t react in time to ghost my car, and only way to avoid was grass - even so no way I could make that call in time. So I ram that car.
How in the world I got 2.75 sec for that ? And the guy that was spinning nothing?
Ive been really enjoying the game as of late. The updates are bringing some welcomed content! One thing that is still a sore is the penalty system. Im at a skill rating that hovers around 4970-4980 and safety Rating usually S. I can go multiple races with zero penalties. Then the rogue race comes where i get blasted by someone and recieve a 4 second penalty. Then get bumped off track and recieve a .5 second penalty for off track resulting in 2 penalties for the race. What is irritating is for one race Im bumped to B safety rating. I thought it was going to take into account the amount of infractions you occur on average?? Well it definitely does not. This and the lack of player stats is my only gripe still…
3 races finished now with no penalties. 1 win and two 3rds yet still B rating🫤…anyway hope this gets tweaked.
It looks at the last 20 races, which was increased from 10. What this means is that whilst it should take more infractions to bump you down a grade to begin with, it also takes more races to get back up to where you were (since the sample size is larger and individual races have less impact). Basically, you need to race clean (or clean-ish) for long enough that the dirty races exit the back-end of the sample period and stop affecting the average. Finish position means nothing, you could finish last all the time and still regain the S safety rating just as quick (won’t be good for your skill rating though).
Also, pretty sure collisions have more weight than off-track, so that 4-second penalty is really not helping things.
Hey thanks for your response! Now if only the penalties by no fault can be worked on. Thats what really grinds me and takes the wind out of the sails during a race. I imagine as its a game, only so much can be done?
Oh absolutely. I regard myself as a very clean (and cautious) racer too, so when I get an undeserved penalty it annoys me a lot too. Penalties also tend to beget penalties (either because it’s the kind of race/track/car that tends to generate them, or because the first one flusters you and you start driving worse as a result), it can help to have a backup race series that you can fall back on which you know will have predictable results that you can plug away at to regain rating/confidence (Formula Mazda was one of those for me, especially Catalunya and Watkins Glen) rather than continue to fruitlessly pinball around in a wreckfest lobby.
Haha thats what I resorted to exactly. This past multiclass using the porsche #11 956. It works out for me being able to easily bob and weave through the pack. More control of my race destiny so to speak lol. The difference in safety rating is definitely clear in the lobbies. Glad to have gotten back to more clean race minded groups…for now atleast🤣
