Feedback Request: Forza Race Regulations penalty issue examples

You are a very forgiving person after 11 months. So is everyone posting on here thinking that they are going to fix this problem. At this point in time, they could just use a randomizer for the penalty system, and it might actually perform better. My only question is why people put themselves through the trouble of paying to be turn 10’s beta testers? With over 300 posts on this topic since November, it is getting clearer that this system is broken. Their AI learning system is NOT learning.

It’s not an AI Learning system that was never true.

It’s evidently just a programmed weighted “follow this racing line” with no iterative learning or improvement at all.

Try not to use just words, provide developers with accurate information with images to get a clear idea.

On Xbox it’s very easy, I don’t know about PC. Please find out and try to provide as much evidence as possible, so you can help the system to be polished.

This thread has been here for nearly an entire year without a single contribution (from paying customers) getting a response from T10.

Should you really be encouraging this player (read: customer) to do their work for them given the knowledge that they don’t seem to care?

What evidence is there that any effort put in by T10’s customers has actually been actioned into improved AI / Penalty determination?

From my point of view, this update contributed something to the system, it is not perfect but it continues to be polished, so far the problem that I have been able to see is that in some corners the system is very severe.

And I have no doubt that you are correct and I believe you that the penalty system has improved.
My question was rather - is there any evidence that the documented examples provided by players at the expense of their personal leisure time, are actually being looked at, considered or dare I suggest responded to?

Today, in the Mid-Engine Series on Road Atlanta, Grand Prix Circuit, I received a 5 seconds penalty for getting rammed off the track at full speed. I have no words.
I have shared the full replay from my media gallery, just search for the description “Balant Ramming” (typo is intentional, makes the clip’s description unique). The incident happens at the end of lap 2, after the long downhill section before the 90 degree left turn.
The clip with some seconds before the incident is on YouTube: https://youtu.be/yrn606jcWPg
Both, the offender and I got the same 5 second penalty. It doesn’t make any sense.

Game mode: Multiplayer
Event name: Mid-Engine Series
Track name and specific corners: Road Atlanta, Grand Prix Circuit, T10A
Car model (including model year): Saleen S1, 2018
Your platform and game settings for Difficulty, Visuals: XBOX Series X
Steps to repeat the issue if possible: N/A
What you think the result should have been vs what the game ruled: The player that got rammed off the road should not have received a penalty at all! The game ruled: both players get a 5 seconds penalty.

In this type of incident, the first thing that occurs to the affected person is to take out a clip by directly pressing the button on the Xbox. The incident is clear, but in the replays you cannot see who receives the penalty.

There is an incident similar to yours. The innocent person receives an unfair penalty.

Thank you for sharing that video - it’s definitely a similar situation! Just like in my case, both the driver who caused the collision (J***) and the victim (K***) ended up with the same 5-second penalty. I appreciate you finding an example like this!

I’ve shared the replay from my Media Gallery, and I hope Turn10 can review the data from it. It would be great if they could identify the rules that led to the unfair penalty and make improvements to avoid these kinds of situations in the future.

Off track penalties should not count towards safety rating. If anything, they should count towards driver rating. I’m tired of getting off track penalties that have nothing to do with safety and affect no one but myself yet I’m put into a lower safety group with all the squirrels.

Incident happened in Featured Multiplayer GT3, Catalunya (short version) first corner (shocker). I was driving the Acura #63 NSX GT3, ABS only for assists (not sure why this matters), High graphics preset. Playing on windows 11.

In my opinion, people ramming and turning me around should be penalised and I don’t think I did anything to deserve a penalty. I didn’t want to be completelly stopped in the middle of the turn with all that chaos happening so when I went for a gap at (0:15) there was ample space, but the same player who rammed me (DressedPrawn604) crashes into Andre11020, who then crashes into me, sending me hard into SirFlossy. Then the green car (flatsixbjorn) hits me and turns me around (doesn’t get any penalties for that). The penalties feed doesnt show penalties for any of the drivers, only me.

The penalty system on update 12 was going on the right direction, and was the best that ever been. Now, you get penalty’s for racing, on your line, and get hit by others when they spin. It’s CRAZY you can’t race close to anyone…

I’m usually between S a A tier and since the update I’m already on B tier…

Please revert it to 12 update…

Noticing new penalty system, not digging it. So I spun out on career mode and came back on the track. I was on a high line and the ai still rammed me in the trunk instead of taking the low line like he should have. But I get a 2 second penalty he drives away like nothing happened. So now my suspension is all jacked damage everywhere can barely make it back around into the pits 4 mins later maybe doing 30mph floored and he rides off into the sunset no penalty nothing. :expressionless:

We absolutely took a step back regarding penalties with update 13

It’s terrible atm. I agree we were heading in the right direction but this is the worst case of the wrong driver getting penalties I’ve seen since release. Tbh I don’t think I’ve managed a single race where I didn’t get someone else’s penalty. They claim it’s 85%+ accurate at deciding who is at fault which is honestly laughable and I’d say it’s 50/50 at best.

Had a race last night at Sebring and somehow we were actually managing a CLEAN T1! Unheard of. A few bumper on bumper contacts, some doors, etc but nothing egregious or intentional that I saw, and nobody wrecked. Somehow I got a 4s penalty? I didn’t even hit anyone lol. I had to save the replay to try and figure out what happened - nothing happened.

My biggest gripe right now with the game is how many of my races are absolutely ruined because of misdirected penalties. And getting sucked into lower class lobbies where it gets worse and worse and dang near impossible to get out of unless you just avoid actually racing people.

It’s getting worse in 2 years.
