Feedback Request: Forza Race Regulations penalty issue examples

One of the pleasures of Forza historically was the notion that you were playing in a sandbox with cars that represented their real-life counterparts.

As the player - one could suspend disbelief just enough to imagine that the ‘simcade’ version of the vehicle you’re driving was in some ways a good approximation of the real thing. For the most part this was conveyed by the games love for the vehicle and attention to detail.

The magic of video games is that for a small investment into hardware - you can ‘experience’ things that you otherwise might not be able to because of financial or other constraints.

The problem with Forza is we’ve seen behind the ‘magicians’ curtain’. Even if the sandbox eventually receives the love it deserves - nothing about the game is ‘trustworthy’. The cars don’t look right, they don’t sound right, they don’t drive right. The paint colours are wrong, the AI doesn’t race you - the tracks aren’t scanned properly and are missing important features (like FFB on the rumble strips).

There’s absolutely no way to suspend your disbelief - and there’s absolutely no trust that the developers cared enough to represent the car and its performance accurately. Even if for a moment you find a way to do this - the game will quickly snap you back to reality with some kind of lazy half assed bug reminding you that T10 just don’t care.

Imagine a world in which the game becomes the FM8 T10 execs were talking about in their promotional material… We’ve still seen behind the curtain. There’s a tu-rd in the sandbox and no amount of ‘prettying it up’ is going to ever let us forget the faeces just beneath the surface.

The “magicians” shredded the curtain & stopped trying to put on any semblance of a magic show.
Now they’re more like street hustlers playing 3-card monte on a cardboard box.

In all reality I feel that Turn10 are having problems rehiring the 18/6ers that worked on certain parts of the game thus not fixing the product in a timely manner.

The temp workers have moved on to other means of making a income, maybe a job that they are treated as Humans and have entitlements like healthcare.

Or those left at Turn10 are dragging out fixing the issue and adding content to keep from being made redundant.

I tried to keep it clean at start, but it wasn’t possible. I hope this gets fixed soon. I dislike to quit races, but when you experience this type of stuff is hard not to.

Maybe some responsibility on my part on LeMan

I don’t think that was my fault, the Lambo guy didn’t brake in-time and made colission with Lexus

I don’t think i was at fault, i had nowhere to go. Also even though i passed the guy i hit, he actually benefited by getting a speed boost, and knocking him away from the apex so he wouldnt get demolished

So yeah, I’ll work on not getting smashed from behind.

That situation is a classic in this game, it takes away your desire to play.

Yes, new penalty system works good…

I’m annoyed with myself as I didn’t save the replay. Racing at Maple Valley and I see a car rejoined up the road after going off. I stay way over to the left. He swerves over to the left. Looks like a deliberate block as I’m going significantly faster. So I move right. He swerves right and blocks again but I can’t avoid him. 4 second penalty for me for avoidable contact.

In the future, I’ll try not to get drive bombed in the inside.

Featured Multiplayer, S Class Series.
Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, Turn 10/Leeukop
2022 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS
Windows 10, Windows Store, Custom Difficulty, 2560x1440p High render quality, unlocked frames, auto everything else

Issue is semi-repeatable, basically if you’re turning into a curve and someone hits into your inside and turns the same direction at the last second before impact, or just goes straight, it believes you were attempting to hit them since you were ‘technically’ turning into them.

I believe ‘Thegoose’ should have gotten the penalty. Instead, I was giving a 4 second collision penalty. I’d say it’s a decently high priority, as it happens regularly and cost me 3 positions after the race ended.

Does my behavior warrant a four second penalty? Why has this been the worst penalty I’ve received recently for subpar racing?

At most you should have just received a warning. The driver you hit was simply out of shape and shouldn’t have tried to hit the second apex since he was going so slow. At the same time you could have braked to avoid the accident, though you wouldn’t have needed to.

But in a real situation a good driver would of braked and then made a up down gesture with his fist while passing the other guy

Since there have been no answers here for 3 weeks, I would like to ask here whether the penalty questions have been clarified?

I don’t want to start the game after 2 months, only to find out that nothing has been done.

There hasn’t been any substantial change to the penalty system and feedback on it still seems to be generally negative. I’d expect there to be more promises in the next update but I wouldn’t hold your breath for a quick improvement.

Worked well for me today, maybe it was just luck but everyone I raced raced clean, full lobbies too, did notice 3 DNF’s and the highest penalty was 4.5 seconds to one of the players that finshed last

I have been penalized with 2.35 seconds for an unbearable crash, many examples like these. The car in front loses control, you can’t avoid it and you get penalized.

Ridiculous penalties yea , just bc my car bottomed out at the last few turns at spa before the straightaway I had a penalty there. Said collision for bottoming out. Would have been a great rival lap time but no had to be marked as a dirty lap.
