Is that from PS4? Doesnt seem to have the strange blue hue that PS4 version has. Also completely different lighting conditions you would of been better posting sunny conditions from the PS4 pcars as a fair comparison.
Well Driveclub already destroys PCars for lighting which i had already alluded to in the OP as being the first proper nxt-gen looking racer, However day sunny conditions have not been a strong point on consoles and having a look at video’s of Pcars it does not look like sunny conditions are that great. The lighting in that first pic looks very good as does the detail…Not sure why your talking about magazine scans? Those pics of F1 are off screen from an email.
Here is PCars on ULTRA which consoles cannot match…
Clearly no where near as detailed and lighting not as good.
My hopes were pretty high for this title, now they couldn’t be any lower. The projected release date was just before the real F1 season starts. Now it seems that it wont be released before summer, and it might only feature last season cars and 2015 hybrid cars at launch. Looks like the real cars will be delivered via title update later on.
So far the only information we have are some leaked screens from an internal development report. CM promised to unveil the next gen iteration early this year, but that never happened and they refused to provide any information. In the meantime quite a few jobs have been laid off at CM’s race game development teams. And in this report, they mention that parts of the team are already working on the 2016 version, even before the 2015 version has been released, that sounds a bit dodgy. Nothing special about focusing on the next version already, but that usually starts post-launch.
if they are an email, why use a phone? why not just take the snipping tool, or god forbid, you know print screen…
Driveclub shouldnt really come into this comparison. Its a platform exclusive at 30fps. I will not deny, and Ive said this before to other people. Driveclubs rain effects are the best out there, no doubt. But it comes back to their technical decisions as to what they prioritize.
F1 and pCars are both multiplatform aiming for double the framerate.
In your own screens, F1 is running at 16 - 20ms for its physics engine. Thats 60hz at its fastest.
Pcars runs at 600hz, or, 1.6ms.
The faster the tick, the more demanding of processing power it is.
As for the sunny lighting. I digress, both being the same track, I see more detail from pcars even in the early video of the incomplete game then I do in your blurry screenception.
Ever wonder why T10 put the sun at a silly angle on every track? Cause bright sunny midday only looks one way, no matter the game.
If the lighting is so fantastic why is it coming along the angle of the Pirelli sign yet the side mirrors show sun glare as if the sun is directly facing them?
